Hey there, I finally did it, and its an amazing result. It runs on clockworkmod and tbaldens kernel. So my final question for the moment is, how can I make a backup from all this? Thx for your help!

theres a option in clockworkmod to backup rom run that and the phone will all backed up to how it is right now
You can boot into recovery and select the backup options or you can get ROM Manager from the Play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager) and it will sort of automate it for you as well as keep you up to date on the latest version of CWM. Then just drag the save off your device (they can be large) and store it in a safe place on your PC. Don't change any file names, just tuck it away for a rainy day with chance of lightning.

If u wabt your stock Rom back ... Better Thing to do is! Flash Firmware With Odin!
i know but i want to make sure its exact same as the one i had. the other ace i have is the exact same model, same provider, same firmware. i want to know if i can restore from that phones backup onto mine.
also is there anything i have to do before going from cyanogen to stock?

U Will get most probably md5 mismatch ... if not md5 mistach ... for sure bootloop ... theres way but it a looooot harder than simply flash from odin!
I can make u a step by step ... but first i need to know your country and your provider in case u have one
i live in canada and my provider is koodo
This is getting worse by the minute ... i'll see what i can do for u!

1st of all ... You have to bring back your phone to rfs system file ... ! Use ext4 manager!
2nd Veryyyy Important! You have to use exactly the same recovery to backup and restore ... Ex. Backup With CWM 5.0.2.6 - Restore With CWM 5.0.2.6
3rd Lets Start Open Ext4 manager . You'll get an error concerning the kernel! Ignore it! Continue Choose Convert to rfs' Now Wait until its finished!
4rth - Reboot into CWM and do a restore ... Wait Until its finished, Reboot, Done!
If every thing went fine you'll be ok! if not get back here pm me
take care
thanks, im gonna try this in couple of minutes
sorry one more question, is ext4 manager an app, i cant find it.
nvm, i found it
i am flashing mine back by odin how long does this normally take mine has been on set up connection for 20 plus mins does it really take this long or am i missing something i am supposed to setup lol

I've spent two days trying to solve this but keep coming to the same problem. I have factory reset my touchpad with the webos doctor and have done a secure wipe on the device. When I try to install CM9 with ACMEInstaller it works fine, but when I boot moboot does not show an android option. It does show a CWM option but when I try to flash the ROM from CWM it says
"E:Can't open /sdcard/cminstall/cm-9-20120814-NIGHTLY-tenderloin.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Couldn't open directory.
No files found."
I was able to install android before. I'm not sure of the cause of this error. CWM won't flash any ROM I have tried nightlies and other touchpad roms; nothing works. The fact that moboot doesn't even show android may be a part of this. I only installed android once with the ACMEInstaller 4 months ago and it worked perfectly. After that I was able to flash roms and everything was fine. This whole issue started when I tried to install ubuntu, but I was able to successfully remove ubuntu and restore to factory default. Any help would be appreciated as the touchpad nearly triples in value for me with android installed.
This thread would have solved my first issue, but cwm won't install any ROMS

Okay... I went throught this exact same thing, which was very frusterating!!
Look in your cminstall folder on the SD card. Does it no longer contain the items you placed into it? If yes, then you have the same issue I did.
Do exactly what this guy says in his tutorial, and don't swap out the ROM or GAPPS or anything, use the exact package you download from the site he linked. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/install-android-ice-cream-sandwich-hp-touchpad-minutes/
It will work 100%, then use CWM to flash whatever ROM you like after... Bravo, you are done!

I'm about to try, should I restore my touchpad first? Should I run the ACMEUninstaller?
For some reason AcmeInstaller2 deletes ROM's it doesn't like, so in effect all you are doing is installing a non-functional version of CWM.

Hi,
I edited my build.prop and it's causing my phone to boot loop. I know I can odin back the factory image to fix the issue but I have important data on it that I can't loose. Is there a way to only odin the correct build.prop?
Thanks

Not to my knowledge. Always make a backup before modding your phone.
Yeah, I should have. Thanks
Update: I got really lucky and used "elliwigy's" G925VVRU1AOE2_G925VVZW1AOE2_VZW.ZIP and odin the phone. What did you know my I didn't loose anything from it.
I'm about to experiment with my build.prop regarding memory management. One thing I'm not sure I understand with Flashfire backups is restoring after a boot loop. I assume i need to odin back to stock, then ping-pong root again, then load Flashfire and restore my backup? I hope I'm missing something and there is an easier way. Sure miss having TWRP!

That sounds right. When restoring with flashfire you obviously have to have root but also you need to be on the same build that you were on when you did your backup in the first place. I don't believe you can be on OC3 and restore a OE2 backup.

The ones named "low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar" are full wipe. Ones ending in "Home" are not. Couldn't tell with elliwigy's but that is good to know.

Updating this tab to lollipop isn't a good idea (lots of bugs) but have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/memo-pad-7/general/me176c-x-collection-roms-updates-t3012965

If you have a ww sku try to put this file (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/ME176C/UL-K013-WW-12.10.1.36_KK-user.zip) on the root of you microSD card and reboot the tab, it should try to flash it (well not on first reboot, you'll have a notification asking you if you want to do the update); if this doesn't work either try the nandroid (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347832070) from jerbear, it was done on an unmodified me176c with lollipop, you must use the tethered recovery, make a backup, reboot, replace your back up files by the files of the nandroid, then reuse the tethered recovery and restore from the new back up. Ask jerbear from this forum for further explanation, i'm just a user who had the same problem, not a specialist.

Ps; the system will do an update after the nandroid restore, it is an older version of the me176c's lollipop rom.

You'll have to root again indeed, but remember what i said in the start, you're likely to regret it if you manage to do the update, it's a very bugged one.

a factory reset doesn't give you the original rom, the update will still be there, the downgrade is a very tricky process, and i answered you only because you asked, but i repeat myself, you should really keep your tab the way it is now, i regretted having done the update for months until someone finally found a way to roll-back to kitkat.
With lollipop you'll have:
-memory leak (can be fixed anyway).
-overheating.
-crashes.
-apps closing themselves or refusing to launch.
-random reboots of the tab itself.
-some users even had clock issues on the tab (too slow).
-others had battery life issue (tablet discharging too fast).

oh and i forgot, google apps crashs.
Hey guys, been searching for quite awhile for information on rooting my Samsung galaxy tab A model # SM-T587P haven't been able to find anything! Is this device not rootable currently or will the root method for a different model number also work for the SM-T587P? I appreciate any info I can get thank you!
yep. I'm kind of trying to do the same thing
Me TOO!
Would be nice to have root and TWRP. At least then I can debloat.
I was able to flash t585 custom recovery using odin last night . It even gives me the green light and says pass....the problem is that when I try and boot into recovery it will say booting recovery, then screen flashes and boots up normal....everythings still operating as it should....anyone know what I need to change in that file to make it work?
any developers out there that could help out would be awesome. thanks in advance
