Hi all.
I have been pretty dum and did not back up my device, thinking it would all be ok, however... that is never the case for me. I installed a Theme using ROM Toolbox Pro, am using 3 Musketeers Insanely Cool Sense 4, and suppose thought would have a mess around with the look, dont ask why. i just decide to do silly things..
what has happened is every app now seems to be unstable, and comes up with an error.
anyway's i do have a back up of the old theme, but for the life of me dont know where to copy the files onto my device. I just hope that copying the files back will do the trick.
all else failing i will have to force myself back into re-installing the full rom, and startijng all over again, if this is the case does anyone know how i could get into my messages ap to make a back up of all my recent messages as quite a lot of these messages are important to me. :crying:
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out.
Steve
Couldn't you just reinstall the rom.zip without wiping data, this should just replace all the system files with working ones... Make sure you do a back up though! If not just search the Play Store, there's loads of apps that backup messages, contacts, and call logs, try this one.. Here
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using xda premium
ahh good thinking, i hadn't thought of re-installing rom without clearing cache etc..
backing up things is a bit more difficult as play store crashes. messages crashes, all the system things crash..
If you want I can upload the apk to adb push it to your phone?
Edit:
Here's a app to backup your mesaages here

Thanks mate, glad to know there's always a genius in this site at all times.
I just wish i had thought about re-installing the Rom earlier, instead of rushing around trying to think of how to fix it the hard way..
all apps work and my messages are all still there.
Now i should really get back to my night shift in the office..
Cheers
Steve :victory:
No problem mate, I know what its like to panic...
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using xda premium
Nuts..
Going to have to keep this open for a bit, I may have used Titanium Backup to try restore stuff when in my slight panic, and have noticed lost 6 Days worth of text messages, does anyone know how / if i could possibly try get these back somehow?
am so tired...
What up, people? Well, to get straight to the point, this is for the people that can't stand the fact that dsp manager keeps fc'ing. I could never get it to work. Now that's a thing of the past. this is fully functional dsp manager that works on the LG revolution.
Flash from cwm.
I would uninstall the pre-installed dsp manager first.
Enjoy!
DSP Manager
I had FC'ing changing some settings but not others, and but it doesn't do it anymore. I'm not sure what the difference was over than maybe flashing the stock kernel to BO 2.1. Thanks for the updated version if I have trouble with in future.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
No doubt, mane. I did have fc'ing of dsp manager after flashing the new version of thunderbolt. Just reflashed dsp manager and gtg.
I was having problems and flashed this update and had more problems with fc's and horrible lag. Froze this app and running great since. Is this a necessary app?
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda app-developers app
No, it is not necessary.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I TOT'd back to factory fresh ZV9 and decided to freeze and trim for myself from there after root and CWM. Trying to get DSP Manager working has not been successfully.
I tried this one here first, but after opening only once successfully and crashing shortly after, it's FC ever after. Then, I tried mtm's files from BO and was met with the same.
Both of these should work on stock ZV9, shouldn't they? One caveat, I have been manually moving files and verifying permissions, so I certainly could have made a mistake. Guess I will just flash the zip now, do it the right way
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk 2
In theory it should work with the stock Rom but I'm not sure. The one mt baked into bo did the fc'ing thing for me. Try installing beats then see if dsp manager works
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I tried Beats, and while I did notice more bass, I haven't had success yet with DSP Manager. It still FCs. I'm not ready to give up quite yet though.
Would it be better to adb files that manually with Root Explorer like I have been? That method worked on my Prime. So many ways to skin this cat
Edit: Is there more than one Beats? One preferred over the other? It seems there's a DSP Manager with beats.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk HD
An update. While I thought I had installed Beats, I didn't see it in the file system. I'm not sure if the new beats app by rockodev which can switch it on and off was the cause or I didn't actually flash it, but thought I had.
Still getting some FC action but only after trying to set the phone speaker EQ. That clears out only after clearing data for DSP Manager, then try again.
Otherwise, it seems all other options for headset and blue tooth work. That is, they don't FC on me. I haven't been able to test and listen to actual audio. This is ZV9, stock.
Update: After much fiddling around, it pretty much only crashes when running the EQ on the phone's speaker. I tried to see if I could manually set the configuration in its xml data file/s but it will FC. Somehow, my phone running BO 2.0 didn't FC. *shrug*

Maybe a little late to the party here, but DSP is not compatible with Beats. On mine, I removed it. Every DSP appears to be incompatible with the other. While Beats doesn't have much in the way of an E.Q., I have found it acceptable for my uses. I also like Equalizer (great app), but it also doesn't like other DSPs. Such is the way of life, I guess? Every DSP wants its own space.
Nice work

You just bumped a 2 year old thread.
But, there is no one on this forum these days, it is good to see a new post every now and again.
So today I have downloaded an app called CallRecorder by SKVALEX from Play Store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5za3ZhbGV4LmNhbGxyZWNvcmRlciJd
I have tried the MOD posted in the forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200008&highlight=call+recording
but I could not get it to work so I thought I would share an alternative method that worked for me.
So after downloading the app I went into preferences and tried the different settings until I found one that worked on my phone.
To get the call recording to work, go to app preferences and:
1) Under device select "Other"
2) Set Record Calls from "Standard Android Api"
3) Set Call recording format to: "WAV"
4) Go to Standard Android API preferences and in Audio source choose: "default"
and voila now you should be able to record calls on your device.
My phone is rooted but this method should work on both rooted and unrooted devices.
Does it record both sides when you use Bluetooth?

It should record everything. There are a lot of options in the app settings menu so you might have to try a different setup if the one in my post does not work for you. You can always purchase the app, try if it works in the 15 min refund period and if it doesn't just refund it back.
I personally have not tested it with bluetooth
This app needs root! Or not?

I have bought this app and I use it with my galaxy s2, but when I use Bluetooth, it records only the other side. If this app could record both sides with Bluetooth on xperia z, then it could be a good reason to buy it.

Works on Xperia z (non root) during call.
I can hear myself and the person on the other line
With latest version 1.3.5 full of the app
No need to change any settings.

thanks, but seems not working for me, either cant record anything or just my voice
Sony has implanted a "built in" call recorder, It was desactivated but it will be available with my new rom
the OP's settings works for me but the caller's voice is much softer than mine.
Am rooted and running CM10.1 for those who are interested.
The app did ask for root permission when I used it.
Hope this helps...

This work 100% on Xperia Z, I will test and all is perfect
i thought auto call recorder was a paid for app?
Skvalex CallRecorder works perfectly on my stock phone 10.1.A.1.434. Can hear both caller and myself clearly. Somebody care to check if it works on newest firmware 10.1.1.A.1.253. (After upgrading my Razr I to JB it stoped working and no downgrade path, forcing me to by a new phone. Thus on XZ now, happy with that, but I don't want it to happen again.)
Edit: CallRecorder works perfectly on .253 Swedish ROM. I have root and the app says "granted root access" but I don't think that root access is necessary.
Works on stock, no root .253

Hi guys and girls,
My question is exactly what the title says, can you force beats audio to always be on for what your ringtone/ notification tones.
I've had a search on here but couldn't find any answers.
Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure it is applied if beats is already enabled... I can hear the difference in my ringtones when i turn beats on/off.

I think that's a completely different issue. The difference between beats on and off is not as drastic as when you set a song as a ringtone and when you play it from the music player. I noticed how crappy it is too, but don't know why it's like that. I actually found this thread by doing a search for a fix, but no help so far.
Maybe dragging and dropping music files from your computer via USB to their respective locations would work. I'm sure the problem is in the mp3 to ringtone format conversion process.

Well if you can make a lightweight app that plays a silent sound in the background at all times (enabling beats 24/7) then it should work. That's the only way I've found to get it working.
It will cause battery drain though....how much exactly I don't know.

It will make the phone not go into deep sleep... This is a lot of battery drain i think...
There must be a trigger to enable beats with every sound.... But i dont know where to find it.
If we make the apk responsable ( dont know wich maybe prizm.apk?) A user app. Would this change something?
Every other app downloaded is using beats and these are all user apps.
How can we change the system apps into user apps?

System apps use beats too. I moved a few apps to system to see if any difference but no.
My guess though would be to try and mod the audio policy.conf
Or maybe mod the htcmusicenhancer.apk

In the audio policy.conf i didnt find anything that could enable beats. I dont have the tools to edit a apk file.
Opening the apk file with a zip extractor didnt gave me the result i would have. Coudnt find something that had to do with beats also.

Could be a framework thing but I haven't taken the time to decompile the One's framework yet. Other than that I got nothing. I asked over on the ViperOne thread to see if it could be added into the rom. Now to wait and see if the dev can/wants to do it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one interested in seeing this happen wish I could be more help but I know nothing about war you's are talking about haha

Definitely looking for this feature as well. Even for me, who's not really good at distinguishing music quality notice how different the music plays as ringtone and in Music Player with Beats On.
I've noticed this before too. I also noticed that, on maximum volume, the phone plays ringtones louder than music. I think the phone makes ringtones sound worse (through reducing bass) so it can play the ringtone louder than it would play music, and not have distortion.
I don't think there will be a solution for this...
I have modified my custom ringtone a bit so it sounds nicer then before. So I can live with it.

Do you have Viper installed as a normal app or did you push to /system/app? Only reason I ask is back on my HD & M it was hit or miss when I just installed it. Once i actually pushed it to /system/app is worked like a charm.
