I then tried to flash a custom rom,put the zip on my phone, booted into cwm,did my wipes the flashed the rom....then rebooted phone.
I was under the impresson then flash the boot.img from the rom but the problem is my phone is stuck on the HTC boot screen and wont respond to anything, wont boot into bootloader, cwm and when i plug it into the pc its making a noise like its seeing it but thats about it.

What ROM was it? Did you try to flash the boot.img instead of the ROM.zip? I didn't really understand your original post.
If you flash the Zip it should go through the whole Aroma installer, etc...

Yeah its buggy as hell sometimes, I think it helps to use the volume and power buttons to navigate through it.
If it crashes just force reboot to recovery and try again.

The only way I can get back into recovery is to flash and older version of CWM. Is anyone else having this issue?

This killed my recovery too. I did as Suprakarma suggested and all is well.
From within RomManager, run the fix permissions script.
(This had a problem on my device, it appears it doesn't like the BusyBox that Titanium Backup installed, so I had to install a new copy from the market).
Once that script's finished, reboot, then reinstall recovery from Rom Manager. Boot into recovery.
Hope that helps.

I installed a custom recovery (TWRP) on my HTC One after unlocking the bootloader. When I try to launch it, it goes the the white "loading recovery" screen for 10 seconds before the screen goes black. I tried "fastboot erase cache" to no effect.
I tried reinstalling TWRP installing CWM as well, which didn't fix things. What should I do next?
Sorry for the noob question, but I can't seem to find a resource for this.

OK here's the deal, I have my phones boot loader unlocked and its rooted, now I want to install cwm, on all my previous devices I did this through ROM manager but atm our device is not supported there. However I saw a guy on here (can't remember his name) use a twrp recovery from the photon q on our device, can I do the same with cwm in ROM manager? Or are there compatibility issues?

Do this but replace the cwm.img in "*\Myth Tools\tools" folder with the one from this thread or just use the one from that thread up front, no need to hassle with replacing files or anything. Go to the thread I linked, download the file, boot your phone into fastboot and run the command from the thread inside the folder the cwm.img is in.

Don't give up just yet. It's worth it to get custom ROMs on your phone.
Do a search around the forums here and you'll find a custom build of a CWM based recovery by mattlgroff made for this phone. Flash that to recovery with fastboot and you should then be able to flash custom ROMs without fear of screwing up your phone.
You may also want to flash a stock firmware with RSD-Lite. (not the recovery!)
Some users have had issues with GPS not working until after you flash stock and then go to a custom ROM after getting a GPS fix on stock. I don't know if that is still necessary or not, but it's something to keep in mind.

Your device mobo is probably going bad and needs more power than usual to run it. Sorry. If i can get linux to boot I'll send a kernel your way to flash and see if it fixes the problem
Try overvolting the CPU, with an init.d script, that should stop it freezing up, init.d because you won't have a chance of doing it with an app

Hi ! I was trying to install a custom ROM to my phone. When i flashed the file and restarted it got caught in a boot loop.
I manage to get to the boot loader, but if i try to reboot, or anything else, it's back to the boot loop.
Anyone that can help me with this ?
I suppose what I did wrong was that when I was flashing the custom ROM, i typed "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and I guess that changes something with the boot function. I'm really new to this, and the reason I did that is because it's something I saw on another webpage, I don't even know what I was thinking. But I really need help here.

Yes, I got adb and fastboot installed, Not sure if the drivers were installed properly, but I would suppose so considering the installation of twrp and unlocking of bootloader was successfull. But do you got a link to some updated driver in case ?
I flashed the rom on twrp yes, and the twrp version is 2.6.3.4
But considering what i did was typing "fastboot flash boot rom.img" I suppose I somehow changed the boot ? Or is that what you're trying to help me fix ?
