[Q] 7" HD Roms on 8.9" HD - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What's involved in porting a 7" KFHD Rom to the 8.9" version? Does anyone have a guide or pointers? I've built CM and AOKP from source for a couple different phone devices ( SG II and SGSIII ) but the kernel and drivers were already in the repo I pulled from. Is it as simple as grabbing the source for 8.9, setting some build.props and adding the kernel from an 8.9 ROM?
Asking because there looks like there is much more dev activity in the 7" roms, would be great if I could port PA or some of the other updated ones.

Accoring to this article http://www.xda-developers.com/android/yet-another-reason-to-update-to-android-4-3-trim-support/
trim supported was added to Android 4.3
Anyone knows if it will be possible to include trim support for KFHD 7 Android 4.4?

Looking for recommendation for a stable ROM

Hi,
I have a 16GB Kindle Fire HD 9". It has been running PACMan 4.3-Build 1 for about a year. I do have fire flash 1.1 installed.
I'd like to upgrade it to 4.4. Could anyone recommend a stable ROM (no need for cutting edge)? I've used PAC Man because of the Hybrid feature. So would prefer a ROM with such capability though I did hear that it's now available as a module.
Thanks

[Q] Android 5.0.2 Lollipop builds for SGT8.9?!

Hi all!
In the past we have seen many ROMS which were ported with more or less modifications from the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
I just noticed that there are already some 5.0.2 builds for the SGT10.1.
Any chance to also get builds for our SGT8.9?
This would be awesome.
See for further infos:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...android-5-0-0-lollipop-lrx21m-p4wifi-t2938870
Unfortunately it seems that the dev community for our beloved SGT 8.9 is a dying breed.
I'm using the SGH-I957 (LTE) variant, but the latest OS I could find was CM (based on Android 4.1.2). If you happen across any 4.2+ ROMs, please send them my way

Any ROM available for Kindle Fire 7"? (4th gen)?

I want another ROM for Kindle Fire 7" (4th gen), but I can't find any.
I've currently followed the guide [here](http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/how-to-upgrade-to-lollipop-root-gapps-t3163950), but I am not very satisfied with it. I am now running Fire OS 5 and using the 5.2.2u2 bootloader.
Is there any ROM recommended / how do I use the current ROM (e.g. CM 11)? Also, if I use ROM like CM 11, which version should I use, and what bootloader do I have to flash?
