Make an app part of the settings. - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to remove an app from the app drawer and make it part of the settings? I wanted to make the "app settings" app part of the display settings like the white balance app.

You can change the icons for an app on your homescreens by adding a shortcut to the app.
Press and hold on homescreen > Shortcuts > Applications
After you pick the app you want, tap on the icon in the dialog box and replace with the icon you want.

Lock screen apps

Okay, I had to factory restore my D4, after the ice update. Lots of weird issues, but after the restore it's a lot better. Now my issue is, I don't use the default text program, I use Chompsms. I want to change the lock screen default text apps to the one I use, and anyone know how to do this?

Doing that give the desired effect, it makes Chomp my default sms on my lock screen. Except it disables my incoming text message.

How do I stop two notifications, or How do I make chompSMS the default messaging app? Turn Notification Off in the native messaging app, turn Notification On in chompSMS, then restart your phone.

Messagetone how to set

Is it not possible to use any mp3 song for messagetone - I cannot find how to set it?
It's possible, go to message app then setting.
I use ES File explorator and i can choose mp3
You can also go to settings > sound > notification sound. Then you tap on the note at the top on the right and you see all your music and you can choose any mp3 you want.

Right but it change all notification sound, not only for message.
So it is not possible to set a specific Ringtone for SMS only?

Open messaging and press on the 3 dots at the top right then select 'settings' and then 'notification tone'

Missing messaging app in ultra power save

Is anyone else missing it?
I can still get texts and text back if I pull down the status bar.
I can also text through finding a contact through the phone app but shouldn't there be a texting app allowed on ups?

Hold any of the lower icons and it will allow you to delete one of them. Then, just add the messaging app to your UPSM screen and done.

How do you stop individual apps from updating?

I know I sound stupid asking this, but I can't get the app store to stop auto updating certain apps. It refuses to let me uncheck any of the boxes in any of the apps.

Should be a setting in playstore to stop auto updates

The problem is that I want it to auto update my apps, with the exception of the ones I don't want it to. I know there's a check box in each individual apps page dropdown, but some of the apps refuse to let me uncheck the box.
