Looking for some themes to apply to my notification background. I I used to, a long time ago use metamorph and a site called droidpirate to do this but it seems he doesn't have any for Jellybean. I'm wondering how I could modify the theme to work with Jellybean?
Also, I would be interested in any other sources for Notification Backgrounds? What do you use? Post here please

There is now a fully functional full gingerbread theme for 6.1.1 located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883291
Theme for cm 6.1.1 stable. Flash the DarkGB.zip (or RegularGB.zip) for the task bar, unzip GBLPtheme.zip to your sd and use LauncherPro for the dock and icons. Also attached is the "Fabolous" Gingerbread Keyboard in a flashable zip.
Included is a Gingerbread XML to put in your CMThemes folder on your sdcard. Then select it from cyanogenmod settings and tweaks and reboot to apply.
Always nandroid first.
Not responsible for....anything bad =)
Made with help of the awesome uotkitchen http://Circle.glx.nl
12-17-2010: Slight color adjustment
12-17-2010: Updated for 6.1.1
12-15-2010: Updated to better reflect gingerbread. Gingerbread pulldown bar added and item/background colors updated. XML CMTheme file added for font color adjustments. Battery percentage indicator removed since you could barely see it anyway and to better reflect Gingerbread.
12-15-2010: Added Regular Gingerbread flashable zip.
Sweet! But could you make a regular theme?

He didn't make a theme so to speak! He just used the online kitchen to cook up a new Status Bar!
Yeah, I don't have time to make themes...I just share what I've already made for myself from time to time.
I found a really nice one that I've tested and works great...you name it its got it. The catch is it seems to break all tethering (and wifi tether doesn't even have a place to configure it) I haven't heard anyone else complain...so I'm not sure what the issue is with our little phones. I'm not sacrificing my tether for pretty...so I"m using what I made. That said...
Anyone interested in playing, the zip they have in the first post has to be opened...the GingerFroyo-v2.0-(Froyd-1.7.2)-signed.zip needs to be named something without parenthesis and periods in it so you can flash with rom manager. Then follow the rest of their instructions (it even adds an xml file for cyanogen tweaks to set your fonts, etc)

is this for 6.1.0 RC2?

I'm looking for a aosp rom with no extra features. Completely stock with maybe bug fixes. All the ones in the development section have theme Chooser or pull down notifications(like jaybob's). Anyone have a suggestion or know of one? Thanks in advance.
just use root explorer to delete the theme chooser apk and all 2.3 roms have that notification bar if your talking about the shortcuts.

You can deselect the notification toggles in the phones settings menu afaik. And delete theme chooser like Bierce said.
Meant the pull down power stuff
Evervolv doesn't have the notification toggles. If i recall correctly. You may not care for the font, but that can be fixed.

I wonder while I wait... for 2.3.4 omgb... think jaybob would release a newer build without cmparts or notification power Widgets? Maybe just wishful thinking

Any suggestions? I'm currently using MEIZU and it's pretty awesome, but are there any other themes that work with transparency like this one does?
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium
off the top of my head a few are:
MIUI by same author as MEIZU theme
EasyDay
LunarUi
Orion
Moto
Evoluer
Naked Simplicity
i think you should be able to find them by searching "transparent status bar" in the search form (or something similar to that)
Also your gonna need ZduneX25 pacther to get it transparent.

No sir, Zdune made it so we could tweak our statusbars to make become transparent for specific themes, like themes posted graphic. But using the patcher can also be used for centering clock and such.
Some of the themes have transparent settings, contacts, dialer, mms, etc..
Wanting to have an app transparent, you'll probly have to do manually. Unless someone has already created an app that you want, that's been transparent.

Yes, I know it'll be cool. There's some guides floating around this theme section on how to create themes for theme Chooser and for MIUI Theme Manager.
I would post a linking to those threads, but I'm not currently at my computer. Sorry about that.
But good luck on learning how to create themes, I wouldn't mind testing a few themes from you when you start building some.

Ahh thanks for that small list I never seen some of them.
I was inspired by digitalhigh's icey theme but realized that there are never any good red themes for miui. So I decided to take it upon myself to make that happen.
Out of beta, everything should be working pretty well now
I hope you guys enjoy this bloody goodness as much as I do!

If it helps with the icons - you don't even need the apk or package name for most programs. If you visit the play store link for an app on a computer, the URL will have the package name in it, and the main image shown is a .png you can download and use for the icon.
For example..."poop rearing simulator mobile":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.android.unko&hl=en
Between "id=" and "&hl" is the package name, jp.android.unko.
On the page itself, in the top-left box beneath "Poop Rearing Simulator Mobile" and "Y.soft", is the icon:
Windows clipboard doesn't like transparency, so I just save the icon, then (from chrome) drag-drop the new icon from the download bar into the template I've attached.
Scale it however you want...don't worry about the shape yet. Each one is different, but given the new MIUI style, I try to go for sweet and simple.
Since yours is red, you'd need to modify one of the overlay colors at first, but then you can just copy the layer style to the new icon, ctrl+click layer 0 to select the outline, select the new icon layer, and then hit the "add vector mask" button. Make sure to unlink the mask and layer in the case you want to scale the icon after the fact.
And just in case you (or anybody else reading) aren't sure how to do the last two (I know I avoided masks like the plague for years), refer to the highlighted spots in the attached picture for where to click to make a mask and unlink the two.
Then that's about it. I like to call my layer name whatever the package name is - and I copy/paste it right from the address bar into photoshop. Just easier to keep track of things when exporting.
And...er...sorry to jack your thread. I'd make this it's own tutorial thread, but I don't think there's a super-high demand for MIUI icon tutorials. However, feel free to share whatever you come up with in red - I'll try to do the same. If we're using the same template, then we could actually pool our resources to come up with a massive iconset.
Haha by all means post help when ever you want
I'm pretty good with Photoshop, illustrator is more up my alley but they're pretty similar. Just not much experience with android theming
I think the reason I'm having scaling issues with the .9.PNG files is because I just took a miui v5 theme and unzipped each com.android by adding a .zip extension to them.
Did you use a theme as a base or did you pull straight from a miui v5 ROM into the theme tool? Because the files seem to be in different places from v4 to v5

I did a combination of things. To extract all the v5 resources, I used MIUI Theme editor, then cleaned up the .xml files. I then used MTE to extract all the resources from the latest JB release of v4. Then it was a buttload of hunting and searching to find what elements did match up, and renaming/moving ones that did not.
However, by the looks of it, I'd guess that the scaling issues present in your screenshots are probably because you manually edited a .9 image and did something to the outside edge (definition) that it doesn't like. I had the same glitch in the compose box in MMS.apk. This is why it's essential to use the "hue" attribute when overlaying anything with color...it'll leave all the black borders untouched. Likewise, I'm actually editing a .9 image, I will cut out the inside graphics and make them their own layer before editing anything, just to be sure I don't kill the borders. .9patch is useful, but very very finnicky.
Ah yeah that would make sense, I did use the hue overlay. From what I can see the stuff I extracted doesn't have the guides that the .9's need in the first place. I Amy need to find a new rom or mtz to extract from.
It sucks because I did all the searching too, just haven't found everything haha
