Hello guys, I am sorry if this kind of question has been asked and answered already, but I couldn't find it.
I want to use cracked paid apps on my phone. I know I have to unlock the phone first and then download a .xap file and load it on my phone. I am completely new at this and have no idea how it's done. Could someone please explain to me step-by-step how to do it? Thank you in advance.

from which region is your phone?
I am not really sure because I bought it used. The loading screen says O2. I am from Bulgaria, so I guess it's somewhere from Europe.

Did you get the box with it? If yes is there any signs that it is the German or English o2 device?
No, I didn't get the box. Isn't there a way to check this? And is this so important? I thought the process of unlock was the same for all European devices.

Its not the same for every hd7 device. If you want to know from which o2 provider it comes you need to hard reset your phone, the language it boots up is the native language if I'm right.

you hard reset like this: you power down your device and then when you push the power button and the volume down + volume up buttons all together and hold it until a white screen with blue letters pops up.
This says it will delete all my personal information. I don't want to do that.

You can also build your own Y-cable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCnhb8BfVfg&sns=tw
But to answer your question, there is no other fix yet.
Oh, I guess I'll never unlock my phone. Thanks for the help though.

Ok, I have some spare cables at home so I might try to build my own USB-Y cable. I have an embedded (is this what it's called) card reader on my laptop. Can I use that or it has to be a separate device?

No you need an external card reader
OK, I'll get a card reader.
Just to clarify, if I do this, I won't lose any of the information on my HTC and will be able to use applications that I've downloaded from the Internet, right?

I've done an ESN Swap to a flashed HTC Vogue. The phone has Myn's Android Build in its internal memory. I called Sprint and they input the ESN in the system. Then they asked me to follow some steps including putting in my number the MSID, etc..., however my number has not registered as I can't get into the phone menu to edit the previous owner's number and MSID. I can even see his number listed in the "About Phone: Status" section.
My question is: How can I get around this? I've searched this and other forums and cannot find a solution. If there is a solution, can someone please help me? I'd appreciate some specific details as it's obviously frustrating not able to make calls or use the data since I haven't manually programmed it.
Thanks everyone for their help!

You have to flash to winmo and provision the phone, then flash back.
Thank you for the quick reply, but is there a tutorial that I can find exactly how to do it? My Windows Vista computer won't access my phone's SD Card or internal storage. Thanks again.
Hold the power and camera buttons while restarting, this puts the phone in bootloader mode (four bars). Then plug in the USB cable and run the stock HTC rom.

edit removed, see below
try that. download the winmo rom of your choice, put the phone in bootloader (phone+camera+pinhole reset), THEN connect usb and run the ruu on your computer.
Thanks for your help. I'll try this after I get off work and let you know the outcome.
OK, I'm trying to do it right now, but how will this unlocker work if the phone is obviously in Android mode and doesn't have Windows installed? Windows Mobile Device Center does not recognize the phone? Please help.

Put it in bootloader BEFORE connecting it to the pc and see if it shows up in device manager. You probably don't need to do the unlocker part (since it's probably already done.) Just flash a winmo rom and provision the phone, make sure data, calls, etc, work, then flash back to android.

Hi.
So I bought this new 4 GB MicroSD card wanting to use it to downgrade my phone via the Goldcard method and I put it into my phone thinking the OS is going to somehow reset to something factory default, but anyways I'm now stuck with it passworded, I wasn't going to use it for good because I have a 16 GB one for the phone and I'd like to use the 4 GB one for something else but now it's password locked by this HTC HD7S.
Is there a way out there that I can format it or get rid of the password lock?
My phone is still on carrier ROM, I haven't been able to use the Goldcard method to unlock it yet.
It won't even show up on my PC when I plug it in, but it will ask for the password if I put it into my Symbian S40 phone. Unfortunately FExplorer isn't available for S40 phones.
Thank you!

I tried Active Kill Disk, Ubuntu, HP Tools, everything, and I don't have an old Nokia or Android phone to do that for me.

Assuming you're trying to GSM unlock, you need to be rooted and do that command in Android Terminal Emulator.
However, you can just use this and it will do it automatically.

Same issue
I have an unlocked Sprint HTC One M7, but it kept dropping the network. After some research, I was led to believe that if I changed the setting to WCDMA Preferred, I wouldn't have to keep selecting T-Mobile as my network. I dialed *#*#4636#*#* and changed the necessary setting, but it did not work. THEN I became curious and accidentally selected some kind of lock. I erased my entire OS and had to flash a Stock Rom (Rooted and Deodexed however) using OTG/USB. BUT THE PHONE IS STILL LOCKED :crying:. Someone who knows what they are doing please help me with this $500 Paperweight. I'm learning the hard way apparently. BTW, I don't care about the SIM unlocking issue anymore. I just need to be able to use the phone.

Kk. I've tried to do the fix even though it probably wouldn't affect anything, and it didn't work. It might've been because I was on 4.4.2, and the guide was probably made when Jelly Bean was out, so Sprint might've patched it. Anyways, let me know if you get it working and post your steps on how you did it if you followed it differently.

As i know, there are no any paid/free solutions of this problem. You erase HTC_MODEM_KEY, and its unique for each Qualcomm CPU.
I think, that only way to fix it for now - make a patch, that disables this key check.
how do i make this patch?
can you help me or give me a step-by-step procedure of doing this?

There is no procedure or step by step for this. When you have bricked your phone, you have erased/corrupted the partition on the emmc where your modem key was stored (key is unique for each device). There is no method to rebuilt this key but others have suggested to find a way to bypass the key verification so the modem would operate correctly. Afaik, no one ever worked on that for the M7 and unless you are a dev (or know one that can help you) I honestly think you shouldn't waste your time on this and buy another phone.
Sorry.

There is not much ppl having the same problem, yes its a known issue but this does not happen often here in the M7 forum. So the "lot of people" argument will probably not motivate anyone to work on this problem and develop a patch if its even possible (idk im not a dev). All info I have about this problem, I heard from those guys at MobileTechVideos when they posted here in the forum so better to ask them directly if there is any progress on this or if they know a dev that would be able to check that.

can anyone suggest where can I download the full flash HTC ONE 801n(M7)?
Hello there,
Hope is not a dupped issue, I readed a lot in your forum and found nothing in there.
Yes, I bricked my brand new p10 lite messing around with it, here is my scenario right now:
I'm only able to boot to erecovery or the force flash (the vol+ plus vol- stuff)
In no one on that menus I'm able to do anything from getting errors (no rom works on the force flash part, and the erecovery drives me no where)
Seems that I'm not able to boot on fastboot, no matter what I do.
I started unlocking the boot and it worked, then flashing TWRP didn't work, at that moment the phone still booted. Then I tried to flash manually the system and boot from fastboot, and I think that is the point where I messed things.
I don't have the original rom (was WAS-LX1AC02B113), I tried mostly every rom similiar that I found on the internet with no luck so far.
Anyone knows how to "force" a rom into the force flash?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my english.

To force a rom, you should download the update zip for your phone, and extract the UPDATE.app from it. Then take a sdcard, create a folder called dload on it, put the UPDATE.app there, the boor into force-update.
Or there is an easier, but paid way, FunkyHuawei, that was the only thing that worked on my phone
