Another suggestion if that's ok?
I had remembered that with the IOS vers. of the SNES emulator, that you could use you're iPod touch or iPhone as the controller.
Anyone know of any way to do that with an android phone? ie: use my android phone as a bluetooth gamepad to play emulators with.
I have searched google the past few days and have only seen the Wiimote apk. While that does work, it just seems more convenient to have a phone that is already with you able to do it, that and it only has a limited number of buttons.
Anyone else share the interest? Thanks! =)
+1 to this
I would definitely be interested in this as well, using your phone as the remote would be killer and extremely convenient!
That would be pretty cool. I hope someone develops something.
Yeah it would.
one up for this!
does a project like this exist (even under development) ? i just googled for an hour but i could not find anything useful.
Something that maps wifi signals from my phone to key press on my pc would be great to use with emulators
//edit
hehe... just after posting i found something
http://code.google.com/p/agamepad/
sadly its not under active development
oh and could somebody please move this thread to a more general android section? i just found it via google and then realized its in the xoom forums (where it does not belong imo)
This would be really cool.
Neat idea to contribute: Make it skinnable. So, you could maybe lay it out like the controller of whatever you're playing. (When using Nesoid, you could use an NES controller skin, when using Snesoid, you could use an SNES controller skin, etc.)
I'm more interested in using my phone as a bluetooth keyboard, but I suppose that could be part of it.
I have been looking for an app that will make my android phone into a remote control. I want to have my Xoom connected to my tv and use my phone to control the various media players that I use..
about android phone into gamepad/ keyboard
Hi, do have any news about this apps now? THANKS
try this
i use unified remote<full version> on a daily basis. it is my portable blue-tooth keyboard, media remote, mouse, etc... i even use it on my laptop. it comes with alot of preloaded remotes for various setups.i have never done it, but it does have a custom settings menu to make your own remote setup.. idk if this can control games, but as far as everything else, hellz yeah.
This is a great idea, skinnable would definitely be hot. Of course I got my PS3 controller working on my Xoom already....
I don't wanna root my device just to use my PS3 controller and I also dont have a OTG cable Im getting one in Nov though
well, i was looking for something like that as well. for weeks, but i found something great here at xda-developers its called "blueputdroid" https://market.android.com/details?id=berserker.android.apps.blueputdroid and its doing a great job even if the gamepad does not work this good .. but 4 example the psx4droid emulator made it possible to control via this app. its just need to be configured correctly.
oh thanks`, But "blueputdroid" is not suppot for my darky v10.2 Rom _ _!! and i also find some as similar as it " droidmote client" but it's support through WIFI only...
you can use DroidMote Server / Client in the android market.
look this video and search for other:

I'm not a great player and I am very tired after having developed a lot but this is a small example of the new features:

Hi mate ...
Bt Controller does the job beautifully ... free in the market
'https://market.android.com/details?id=droidbean.btcontroller'
There seem to be a few decent options for android phones to be used as keyboards/touch pads for a computer but they're mostly wifi or bluetooth based and simply aren't optimized for tablets.
I'd like to see something with an option for USB connectivity as well, but I'd be happy to find an app that is a bit more optimal for a tablet or at least looks decent on one. If anyone knows of something worth looking at, I'd appreciate the help!
i like this idea, it sounds very neat. What about using a android tablet like a wacom tablet? You know for art programs and such.

Capacitive touch panels aren't precise enough to match the needed level of preciseness from what I've seen. Besides HTC's Flyer.
Sent from my Fascinate with MIUI Gingerbread
I use Gmote. The initial screen you are taken to displays in portrait only and it controls media functions like play, pause and rewind. If you hit the menu key there is an option for touchpad. Touchpad uses all of the tablets screen as a mouse touchpad and there is an option to pull up the keyboard. This screen will work in landscape mode and works really well on my HTPC.
BTW the app is free in the market and will require you to install a free application on the computer. Works with Windows/Mac/Linux.
Donate if you like the app.
Typical Samsung, they have released a remote tv app for their Smart TVs called Allshare Control.
It installs (Play claims it is compatible with the Note), then flops with the usual bad grammar "AllShare Framework does not installed, the application will exit". S3 users claim some success.
Thanks Samsung - why can't you make products that integrate? Ever heard of product integration? It's when products you make actually work together?
But then again, this is Samsung. Silly me, of course they can't.
These are the people who convinced me to buy a "Smart TV" with apps, like a browser. Er, how do I type? With those big arrow keys on your tv remote, of course!
Ever tried to enter text using one of these? Absolute joke, no it's worse than that, it's some form of primitive torture. Practically fraudulent it's so awful.
Anyone anywhere know if there's a way we can get the Note to interact with a new LED Samsung TV, with or without AllShare Control? Can we hijack the AllShare Framework from an S3?
No replies - but found an answer, entirely unofficial but brilliant SamyGoRemote. Works pretty well for text input, which is the killer app for tv browsing. Recommended.

Hi, I have Samsung UE40ES6100, the "samsung remote" app works, but there is no keyboard, and the slide/mouse works too slow. The "sammyGo remote" app doesn't seem to discover the TV. Are there any alike apps you know ?
P.S. I have an xperia neo, but I don't think that could be the problem

Not working on S4 i337
Since the Note 5 I have been trying to use more native Samsung apps to see if they are better than the alternatives. I truly love Samsung internet browser for example. So I ended up purchasing poweramp when I had the note 7 and I can't remember why. I am think that Samsung music didn't do something that I wanted so I used poweramp instead. Today I downloaded Samsung music and I can't seem to figure out if it has been update or something, but it seems to work great.
Tldr... is PowerAmp better than Samsung Music , if so why.
Thanks for your time.

Bro i'm drinking heavy right now but mann. Power Amp is so better than Samsung music, It's better than any player really. Finds HD pictures for songs automatically and even album covers , has good scanning features ( even though i turn it off ), Has BASS and alot of EQ options, Has the crossfade, dope skins. It just has so much better options and has always been my go to. Power Amp, Nova Launcher and Swiftkey bro are the apps i install as soon as i get a new phone or new ROM.
Poweramp is good all around and easy to navigate. Neutron is good but has complicated and limited UI. Use FLACs to get the most out of your listening.
In my opinion PowerAmp is much better than the Samsung Music.... it has a lot of tweaking for sound enhancements and the application's interface.

I've been using samsung devices from when the android era started to when I bought Asus Rog 2,
And I think that samsung music is the most simple and featured music player of all the available ones.
So I checked all the ported samsung music apps available out there but none seems to be working with the device.
Can anyone help please?
I was in the same state a few months back. Samsung's music player app cannot be ported to other devices, unless it's part of the Galaxy lineup.
I searched for an alternative and ended up using Poweramp.
It has a really good looking and customizable UI and looks awesome with 120hz display.
Try poweramp

Samsung music works here. I used it for a while but uninstalled due to ads. Try Poweramp as others suggest or use VLC.
Thanks guys.
Just bought the Poweramp, it turns out it's really good.
Thanks again for the suggestions

PowerAMP is great, and there are other apps honestly i would consider are leagues better than most stock apps.
Noteable ones i can think of are.
- PowerAMP (as you already know)
- BlackPlayer EX (tones of customization and audio control)
- Retro Music Player (very modern, well designed and has audio control)
I tried PowerAMP for a while and found it drained battery faster than the other apps but if you don't have any battery problems its an amazing app. personally i have stuck to BlackPlayerEX because i love the customistion options and the UI is clean and because i usually always carry alot of songs (1000+) on me its got the fastest interface as some other apps struggle.

Tbh simplicity of the samsung music app is something that I am still missing.
It's gonna take a while to get used to these 3rd party music players.

if you really want you can just download the samsung music app from the playstore or try sideload the apk
I don't have my ROG Phone 2 yet so i can't test it but i imagine there's no plausible reason it wouldn't work.
