I think it's a SIM card slot for using the phone internationally.

My Nexus one keeps saying emergency calls only, and it shows the little icon of a sim card, and it say's there's no sim card? What do I do? I've taken it apart and looked, nothing looks damaged. HELP.
Have you tried a different sim card? They do go bad from time to time.

Yeah. I tried my H20. And my T-Mobile. And my buddies simple mobile sim.

On the left top side of the phone. There's a little hole next to it. You just stick a paperclip in the hole and the tray pops out.

Had the same dam issue.. thinking new update will fix it

was getting that last week, took the sim out and made sure it was seated good in the tray and popped it back in, havent seen the notification since.
As other folks said, I can confirm that removing and replacing it solved that issue. Have not had the problem since.

I noticed on AT&T site for Note 3 it comes with a secure SIM card, does anyone know what's the difference between this and a regular micro SIM card? Is it something to do with the Knox feature? Thanks
It's for the Isis mobile wallet they're launching nationally soon.

I hope they choke on their mobile wallet since they've decided we can't use Google's already existing one. I'd prefer to make that decision myself, thanks carriers.

Another reason I cant stand US Carrier devices. Let the device be as it is. Stop adding your apps and crap to the devices. They do more than enough without you. rrrrrrrrrr, annoying to say the least

That's the purpose of SIM cards... Although if the S3 Mini has a regular sized SIM card slot the micro SIM will be a little harder to slip in and might move around.

Just use sim card adapter and you can use micro sim card like mini sim card and put in s3.
