I, regrettably, just updated my phone to Verizon's April 5th 2013 Jelly Bean (9.8.2O-72_VZW-18-2
Blur_Version.98.72.182.XT894.Verizon.en.US) and they seem to have closed the exploit that razr blade uses. Specifically, creating /data/local.prop results in "permission denied." Has anyone else experience this problem? Is there a work around or another exploit? Thanks.
Mine was not installing on my phone for me so I tried flashing the zip in recovery with no prevail. After this I tried the Razr Blade mod on Windows 7 and it was not working for me. After that I booted up my Ubuntu 12.04 and tried again and it worked perfect for me. Try downloading the Ubuntu 12.04 live CD and burn it to a disk, run,it, download the Droid 4 JB utility from the forums, followe all the instructions in it and it should do it for you. I just accomplished this yesterday(5/13/2013). Let me know if you need any more help and keep trying. Don't give up yet.

Have I missed something? Is there a further update to the original JB update? Do we know if there's any material difference?
I've just tried a system update check, and it's saying I'm up to date, but I have the 8th Feb build date.
Cheers,
Steve.
it was posted here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/cdma_maserati/list.php
Apart from the issue related to rooting, are there any noticeable changes?
Have the hardware keyboard problems been addressed? Is it a leak of an impending release?
Do we know anything else about it other than the different build date?
Cheers,
Steve
I duplicated the post on rootzwiki (/topic/40718-verizon-april-5th-update-woes/) and got a working answer there. Thanks to all for your assistance. As for the update, I have no idea what changes were made.

That's a discussion about the original update, not the difference between the two JB releases.
right coder0xff is the only one, who has reported running the new version, other than me
I just checked to see if it was rootable, then flashed back to original and that is as far as I got.

Fair enough - I'm just surprised there isn't more discussion about it.
I think it must have gone unnoticed.
it just was posted a few days ago, and no one was expecting it.

Well, I'm in a boot loop after trying to update webos. I can still get to the big usb symbol screen. not sure what to do at this point. I was running android 4.2.2 nightlies with no problems. I should never have tried to update webos. I was having a wierd issue with the camera having an odd angle and wanted to check to see if that happened in webos too. So here i am with a boot looping touchpad. Any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE: I did a full restore using this guide and am currently waiting for downloads to use this guide.

I updated mine just fine, it was more of an app update rather than the firmware update the email made it sound like. So the update couldn't have messed anything up. I don't know what could have caused it, I hope you can get it fixed though. =/

I found another thread which seems to deal with the same problem but its a different phone and its for JB 4.1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34456721&postcount=1
I think It maybe a Camera Firmware problem, If so where can I get the firmware or drivers for the camera?
Any other ideas?
Thanks for your help in advance!

it's a bug introduced in the CM nightly on the 14th (and copied by many other ROMs). the latest cm nightly fixes it.

Thanks M8
Last night when I updated CM it must have been hours before the new nightly was released
Will update to new Version when I get home tonight and let you know what happens.
BTW am I the only one that has to delete the first few lines of the updater script so I don't get the status 7 error?

Status 7 error is caused by an outdated Version of cwm recovery. Update it through rom manager and you're good to go

Now that Google released an Android L Preview Factory Image for the 2012 Nexus 7, has anyone tried it?
How useable is it and what are the main gotchas?

a factory image and an incomplete source drop are not the same! you mixed something up.
Google released some GPL sourcecode which you can't "try out" (neither flash).
Only nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) have flashable factory images!
Please use the Q&A section for Questions like these next time to keep the general section clean.

The original thread for this is right next to this one on xda. It's titled [ROM][5.0.0][The unnamed Android L SDK port][for MultiROM][01/07/14][v4] and it only works with MultiROM. (+makes it impossible to install some apps, but works well otherwise)
Lazy "journalism."

So i come to be the first one who raises this question
Hope to get a positive answer

Eagerly anticipates a possible JCSULLINS build
After having Lollipop on my phone I'd love to see it come to the TouchPad. Supposedly CM has builds planned to be released out in about a months time. Thus something should be on its way shortly afterwords would be my guess.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/hp-touchpad/development/rom-evervolv-5-0-0p1-data-media-t2949521
Here is another version, tried, it, but prefer cm layout, so wait for cm version
Unofficial 12.0 is out now (this thread is a bit over a month old i see):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/hp-touchpad/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-0-nightlies-t2993197
Installed last night, seems to work quite nicely. Lollipop seems a bit more streamlined than KK, although it feels like a kids cartoon when setting it up with all the bright colours.
I did have to wipe with TPtoolbox and create the volumes manually with sufficient size but it wasn't much of a hassle at all.
Cheers
Volumes
How do you resize the volumes using TPToolbox? What size do i need to add? cache, data , system ? please help

I believe you only need to make sure the "system" one is at least 1GB. if you get "unable to allocate" error when you do it, make sure you go into "Data" and click "-1024" or "-512" then hit "Apply" and after you can go back to Resize "System" and you should be able to add the one you removed from Data.
P.S i said either "-1024" or "-512" this depends on how big your "System" already is and you just want to add enough ton make it 1GB
New TPToolbox
I just downloaded the new TPtoolbox version 42 and the fixed the problem thankyou for el the support

It's still 5.02. Build is LRX22G.T800XXU1BOE2 dated 12May.
The kernel and SE for Android was updated. Looks like they fixed a few Bugs.
Downloading now
Just snagged it myself in Canada. Confirming LRX22G.T800XXU1BOE2 build number.
Otherwise not seeing anything different. Any major bugs that other people were running into that are now squashed?
--Databoy2k
How about a memory leak fix?, or do we have to wait for v5.1 for that.
John.
From what I can see they have fixed the Samsung Lollipop Netflix bug where the video freezes after about 30 seconds. I just tried Netflix for a while and no video freeze! Yay!

What bloat? Where do you find that evident?
Damn, why did this come out a day after I rooted my Lollipop Tab S?
I am making the assumption that I will be notified when this is available as I have checked and nothing. I hope this is not a Samsung gradual update that takes 6 months to get around the world! Does anyone have a download for it to stop the 3 month wait?
Yeah, I wonder if this affects my stock SM-T800 with root. Hmmmm....
Deleted.
anymore info on potential improvements in this update?
Dunno about the improvements. I installed the update, then rooted it again, and installed TWRP recovery back.
I can say I haven't noticed any issues, so at least it is safe to install this, and it did fix the Netflix playback issue I mentioned earlier.
I also think it seems to match my fingerprint better too, but it may just be a placebo effect.
