Big Trouble...can't Do Anything. Help. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I was having some issue with ARHD 8.1 and forgot to make a back up and I did a Wipe Data Wipe and now I'm stuck in Recovery with no way to boot into the system or mount to my computer. Since I wipe to DATA I can't find the ROM. I'm not sure what to do. Please Help.
I'm in teamwin recovery and when I try to mount all I get is updating partition details... just stuck there.

So you will need to download the all in one tool kit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942 first flash over to clockwork mod recovery. Then download the ROM you want to install. Rename to rom to rom.zip or something short no spaces and simple. Then go into CWM recovery and go to sideload ROM. Then go into the all in one toolkit and select the ROM you downloaded and renamed and profit.

Copy the rom you wanted to install to the phone
"adb push rom.zip /data/media/rom.zip" (where rom.zip is the actual file name)
Then flash the rom

He would have to push the rom to /sdcard/0/ as he's using TWRP. That's why I suggested CWMR and the all in one toolkit to make things simple.

Of course. Not trying to say your method isn't the way it should be done as it is. Just TWRP doesn't register the SD card right so everything is in a "special" directory for it. And I apologize if my response came off harsh it was not meant to your way is the correct proper way every one should know cause they should know basic ADB.

Nullkill You the MAN! You save me an evening of Frustration. In fact after the sideload, It just started up the Flashing the ROM. However I'm stuck in unmounting partitions, was wondering if I should just reboot. Doesn't seem to be doing anything, just waiting.
I was trying to Sideload via cmd.exe but wasn't able to do it, but the tool kit made it so much easier. Thanks!!!!

Yeah you are safe to reboot and thanks for the kind words. I was stuck where you are at not too long ago

[Q] Looking for help. Cant boot phone, recovery nor use adb commands.

Hej guys. I really hope that you can help me with my problem
Have been trying for 2 days and looking at post but haven't been able to get it fixed.
Here goes.
I have been playing around with custom roms on my htc one for a while now.
Then when i was about to install a new custom rom, i first wiped my phone.
I properly wiped something that should not be wiped, because i ended up with no os and no custom rom zip file that i could install in twrp.
I then tryed sideloading revolutions, and it seemed to work because it ended up booting on the phone and i could select what programs too install with it... but halfway through it stoped and rebooted.
now i cant even get into recovery anymore, and booting the phone only gets it to htc briliant logo. Then it restarts and tryes going into recovery, but it cant, and ends up just restarting over and over again.
Tryed flashing cwm and twrp again, but still cant get into recovery.
adb dont fint my device, and i have tryed all drivers i could find.
Tryed using a RUU, but it fails. Properly because its not the right one, but cant fint one that fits.
Sooo... i think im in a real pickle right now.
my radio is :4a.14.3250.13
hboot: 1.44.0000
Thinking about going back with my phone, but with the warranty gone i dont know if they'll even look at it.
Hoping for some advise, or some ideas on what to do.

Arh thanks for your reply.
Cant belive i dident try that.
but it worked, im now able to get into twrp.
It says that i have 0 mb internal storage?
should i try to flash twrp again or what should my aproach be ?

So I'll try here first. I am having the same issue, I can't get the device to boot into recovery, no matter if I clear the cache, or flash either one of twrp or CWM.
I unlocked the bootloader, I think used the all in one toolkit to flash the recovery. When that didn't work, I erased the cache and manually flashed the recovery, and it said it pushed successfully.
I am at a loss, I have no idea what to try next, any help would be appreciated.
******Finally got it, I had to disable Fast Boot in the Power options in Settings******
How do you copy update.zip from external to internal SD?
Sorry if it's a total no-brainer, but how do I manually copy a recovery zip to the internal update.zip? Can I do this from my phone (which is stuck in a bootloop: see below)? Or do I have to use ADB with my computer?

My situation:
Using Open Recovery I tried to install CM7 with custom kernel on my XT720
It gave an error: "assert failed: write_raw_image... Status 7" As I was looking that up, my phone blackscreened. After a while I pulled the battery.
Then on startup it went into a bootloop after a picture of a broken screen saying "2ndboot kernel restart in progress." (Presumably the kernel wasn't properly applied?)
Trying to boot into bootloader says battery is too low.
Phone will only turn on when plugged into outlet.
What I think I need to do:
- Copy a good update from my external SD over the bad update.zip on the internal SD, and apply the update to reset the kernel, etc.
- Open Recovery could do this, if I could load it.
- I could load Openrecovery if I could get the bootloader to run,
- I could get the bootloader to run if my battery would charge

[Q] HTC one completlywiped, cannot load ROM

Hi Everyone, Ive been going at this for days and been round and round on so many pages i'm just lost..
I have HTC one unlocked brought in AUS. Decided to play around with it and didn't do any sort of backup of the original system, unlocked the boot loader, installed CRW and tried a few roms for fun. So today I went and played around again trying to get the stock rom put back on so I can have OTA updates (stupid idea!!!) and now there is no OS installed on the phone...!
So far I have tried to push a zip to the phone with adb but apparently it can only be done when the OS is loaded. Used Hasson tool with no luck.
Essentially I can't load any ROM to the phone and it is just stuck between fastboot and the recovery mod (tried TWRP and CRW).
Ive looked at the RUU files on the website but theres no clear explanation on which one to choose. The htc website has no RUU update either.
Can someone please help with steps to get me back on track. If you need any info to help then please let me know ..

So can you get into recovery?

Hi there, i can currently boot into TWRP (which is the most recent version I downloaded today)
1) Flash TWRP custom recovery
2) In recovery go to adb sideload
3) On PC type adb sideload yourrom.zip

Try to adb sideload a rom. after flashing a custom recovery, download hasoon2000's toolkit from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2183942
place it on your desktop and then place your custom rom inside the folder. run the toolkit and use the function "adb sideload" to sideload the rom on your device. also choose "adb sideload" in your custom recovery while doing this.
it should work
If you get into recovery then as everyone is saying sideload a ROM onto your device. There are loads of guides of how to do that.

Have previously opened TWRP, went to sideload and wondering why it has done nothing - this time I see the "slide to sideload" option.
Its currently sending right now. If this upload works do I now just have to select the install option and choose the ZIP?

In recovery apply "slide to sideload" , recovery will be to wait command from PC.
On PC type "adb sideload rom.zip" , your rom.zip must be in the same folder with adb.exe.
Pushing the thanks button for everyone who replied, such a simple thing as sliding the abd sideload button to the right to detect it...
Thank you all so much

could you explain your problem more detailed please?

[Q] I just dun goofed :(

Hey guys, long time lurker and now first time poster. Shame it has to be something very stupid.
So anyways, I wanted to flash the latest CM10.2 Unofficial build so I did the usual and downloaded the zip & gapps to my phone. But upon wiping my phone via TWRP I accidentally left the wipe userdata part checked and ... well now I have no OS installed as well as no zip's :/
I have TWRP installed so I thought why not sideload it, however when I go to advanced -> adb sideload it never starts up. This is the log:
Updating partition details...
Starting ADB sideload feature...

And it just stays there
I know that my ADB works as I have S-OFF & unlocked the bootloader and flashed the latest 1.54.0000 hboot so I can definitely use it, I just don't understand why it doesn't let me sideload for some reason.
Either way, I have full access to fastboot & TWRP recovery so i'm hoping this is a pretty simple thing to fix ... right?
Can anybody point me to the right direction?
Details:
No OS installed.
Access to TWRP & fastboot.
S-OFF, Modified Hboot 1.54.0000 (SuperCID) & Unlocked bootloader.
Windows 8 64-bit, drivers all work.
Latest SDK with all the binaries installed.
P.S. when I connect and try and use adb devices it doesn't recognise my device, and the cmd window gives the following when I try the sideload command:
Error: device not found.

Sounds like a driver issue to me but it doesn't make sense that the drivers would suddenly stop working ???

Tried that already, same issue in not detecting the device. I'm downloading these drivers in a hope to fix something.
Thanks for the reply
EDIT:
Finally got sideloading in TWRP to work, it turns out it was a driver issue :/
Anyways, these are the drivers that worked:
androidfiles.org/hasoon2000/getdownload.php?file=HTC%20Drivers/HTCDriver.exe
why is everyone always wiping their storage these days? just use CWM next time and you wont accidentally do this again..

TWRP is much better for people who know what they are doing. There are more options and also a built in file manager. Also, the wipe button in TWRP wipes the 3 main partitions at once (data/cache/dalvik), so he must have actually selected internal sdcard from the advanced menu, and I have no idea why he would do that...
Doing the slider is all anyone needs to do in twrp to wipe yet I read more posts about people wiping with twrp than any other problem in these forums

You have lost your recovery for some reason. Just reflash the latest TWRP from here
Shut off your device. http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7wls/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-m7wls.img
Copy the file to your ADB folder on you PC. Plug the USB in.
Press and hold volume down and then press power. Keep holding volume down until a menu shows on your screen.
Use the volume rocker to select fastboot and press power to select fastboot.
Plug the device into your computer.
If you have the right drivers installed your phone screen will now say: FASTBOOT USB
Using a command prompt, type:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Your device will reboot. Use the volume rocker to select recovery and press power. You will now boot TWRP.

How can I know that if you don't? Maybe you didn't backup at all or you just deleted it? You can sideload a ROM if you don't have one on your sd card.
And next time search and read before sending pm's, like everyone else has done. And at least use that thanks button, it's the minimum sign of appreciation towards smb who is helping you

I think the reason you are rebooting is because you flashed the wrong version of CWM.
I would backup anything important to your pc then run an RUU

Should I again flash the badboyz rom?
I remember while I recovered twrp recovery I did some kind of format/wipe. I guess because of that I lost my simunlock and possibly deleted something which is making it to do so.

NO, follow BigDaddys advice and RUU back to stock. Then work your way back to other ROM choices, most likely after flashing a new and appropriate recovery.

Yes first try reflashing the ROM after full wipe. You shouldn't loose your SIM unlock no matter what you do so smth is messed maybe with your partitions
If it doesn't work you should run the ruu. It'll brink you to stock and would have to unlock bootloader, root, custom recovery, etc.

I guess I've loosed it as I bought the phone from ebay and it came unlocked for sure but when I restored the backup I saw no signal bars on my phone,
Anyways, I'm again downloading a fresh copy of the rom and will re-install it. I dont want to do RUU and and they again everything from scratch as that would be toooo time consuming.
Hope reflashing works. I'll keep this thread updated.
Tho, While restoring I found a error that .android_secure.img is not found.
I guess that is something I messed?
UPDATE:
I did a full wipe and re-installed the Bad Boyz Rom.
Now, I'm getting to the unlock screen.
When I scroll the lock screen the phone is taking me to HTC screen and then rebooting and I'm unable to do anything...
The phone is still restarting like before.

I think the reason you are rebooting is because you flashed the wrong version of CWM.
I would backup anything important to your pc then run an RUU

Sir, I've flashed this recovery image file only.
Yet reboot thing is happening.
Should I flash any other rom or something?

Try another ROM, maybe it's a bad download. Also try clearing sd card first(do a backup on your pc first) and don't forget to full wipe. I'd use the ruu as last resort

Hello guys. I've got a big problem. I rooted my Nexus 6 and installed TeamWin Recovery, but something wasn't installed correctly so I went to factory reset my phone from TeamWin recovery and completely deleted EVERYTHING, including my OS. Now I cannot do anything, my phone just stays at the Google logo. Just to clear things up:
My phone isn't rooted
Bootloader isn't unlocked
I have no OS.
I need help on how to flash android 5.0 back on my Nexus (Yes I've tried using Toolkit, but since my phone doesn't boot it's no use to me). Help would be much appreciated.

I dont mean to sound rude, really, but so what? you can download and transfer a ROM to your twrp recovery via regular file transfer, adb sideload, or adb push. so download what you need, choose a method, then transfer it to your phone. you dont have other options, besides for flashing a factory image.
Why did you install a custom recovery if you haven't unlocked your phone?
It seems to me you should start by downloading the appropriate factory image from Google. And flash everything (with the exception of boot loader) from inside your boot loader. Press and hold the power button while it's on, this will set a reboot. While the screen is black, press and hold power and volume down. This will get into boot loader.
Let us know if you need assistance on how to flash the factory images.

first off, look at your recovery, you should be able to find a mtp and a adb sideload option. mtp would be the regular file transfer. you can google adb sideload twrp, and youll find instructions on that. or you can try googling adb push, and you will find instructions. thats the one i normally would use(but its been a long time), ive deleted my os before as well

Overkill. You can just put a ROM zip on the sdcard and flash it via TWRP recovery

Internal storage is called sdcard. All you need to do is boot TWRP and connect to PC. You should see your internal storage on your PC then. Drag and drop your ROM from PC to internal storage. Flash ROM, profit.

/sdcard is a common directory mounted at /data/media/0. TWRP has MTP access so like android, you plug it into the computer and drag files across. You don't need to remove it to do that.
...and indeed you are right, if you delete the "internal storage"/as s it shows up as in MTP mode, you would have to flash stock (though we'd recommend using fastboot not toolkits) however that is not the case here. The user said he deleted " everything" via TWRP. Although there is an option to "wipe" internal storage, this only wipes the /sdcard data - NOT deletes "internal storage" as someone can do on a computer. So yeah, the quickest and best way to recover from "deleted OS" is to put a ROM.zip on the sdcard and flash it.
Will someone please refer me to a download for Android 5.0. I've tried some, but all the sites are block by my internet provider.

There is only one legitimate site for Google factory images, and it's linked below. I don't understand why any provider would block it...
And why do you want 5.0? That is the original, release version for the Nexus 6? What version are you on, today? If you are on 5.1 or higher, and you decide to downgrade, do not downgrade your bootloader, as it could brick your device.

I've only had my Nexus for around 3 weeks and I've not updated from 5.0 yet.

Doesn't matter. You've got NO OS now, so just flash the latest. If you're wanting to keep TWRP and dead set against flashing a ROM.zip from recovery as I've suggested, just flash the system and boot image from the factory images.
Can we get it done already?
