[REQUEST] Dual/Multi A2DP out - Nexus 4 General

I realize this sounds silly but is it at all possible to use 2 a2dp headphones/devices simultaneously? I would assume the bt spec supports it though couldn't get my N4 on PAC ROM to output to both simultaneously.
The practical use case is me on my motorcycle with a passenger. Yes we could each use our own phone but I tend to"ride to the music"so it would be pretty nice to share the entire experience (including the song and position of the music I'm playing) with my passenger. Thanks!

Sounds interesting

I'm also really interested in this, however it would likely involve rewriting part of the Bluetooth subsystem (is it still bluez?) to make it happen, plus all the testing and debugging...

Why do you need a "Good Old Analogue" radio when you have a choice of many good Internet radios, that allow you to choose your radio easily, rewind, pause and save radio?
And to just re-iterate my point, you don't need headphones plugged in for the internet radio to work !!!

Neither did my Galaxy Tab, nor does any of the 5 desktop computers in my house, or my mom's Galaxy Prevail, or her laptop. My PSP doesn't have it either, neither do my iPod Nano nor the 3 Shuffles I have. What ever shall I do...
Well...in a point of view you have all right....Just my mind is well...old fashioned...Greetings!!
The last phone of mine that had a radio was Nokia, my N900 (radio had to be unlocked) it even had a FM transmitter, downside with most Nokia phones I used to have was that after 15-30 minutes of talking my ear would have a popping effect as if I was in an aeroplane, plus a rash appeared on my skin where I used to put the phone in my left pocket.......hmmmn I wonder where all those phone radiation stories came from?
Not saying the the radio caused this, I'm just saying.
Although we might have to take into account the country where the OP may be living in as to why they might want an analogue radio.... nah, you can go to the small Caribbean islands off America and be certain they're teched up like anywhere else.

Though I admit radio would be a good addition (N7 being a WiFi only tablet, you can easily find yourself without internet connection), you have to bear in mind that the N7 is a budget product (I know it's easy to forget that seeing how awesome it is). Radio would up the production cost with no extra added value for most people.

I don't see a reason for a radio on the Nexus 7. My Eve 3D has a FM tuner and I never use it anymore.

My old HTC EVO 4G had radio built in but I never used it, mainly because it required me to plug in headphones. Since I couldn't play the radio through the speaker, I never bothered.
Go download TuneIn Radio if you really need local radio stations.

Oh yes, and you know what else it doesn't have; a built in death ray! Who cares? (Although now that I mention it, a death ray WOULD be a pretty sweet feature, lol!)

Nexus one did. Also used for emergency data transmissions and traffic. I think some weather apps pulled info also.

I use Tunein Pro as my radio. It's light on data transmission, has all my local AM/FM stations plus thousands more around the world. I unfortunately doesn't have the DAB+ stations, but then a dedicated chip won't either.
I use my phone as a hotspot when I'm out, so I always have a data connection.

Wish it had working radio. Would be perfect
I'm going to RMA mine until I get one with a working FM tuner. I'm on my 9th RMA so far, no working tuner yet.
The biggest reason I would like an FM radio, in my phone more than my tablet,is that many gyms and similar places broadcast the sound from their TV's over FM.

Bluetooth cuts wifi on 4.2.1

Hello.
When I use my Bluetooth headphones my wifi cuts out after about 10 minutes, it only affects the nexus because my xbox can still connect as can my 2 computers and laptop.
I know for a fact it's not my internet as my noise margin is currently at 19.5db download and 25.5db for upload.
help please??
Android 4.2 has a lot of Bluetooth issues. I don't know how to fix it, try to Google it?

Go to apps in settings and go to all apps and find bluetooth share and clear data, it fixed the issue for me

Its slower then dial up when i use the head phones...
dunno why i have a fast internet (24meg down)
I use Bluetooth and wifi at the same time all the time. I have a moga controller that's paired and surf no problem.

Asus, the maker of our N7, had to cut corners to come under $200 mark, so they specc'd a cheap WiFi/Bluetooth chip in the N7. Furthermore, they cut corners on QC, thus the atricious build quality and service issues.

I take this back. It doesn't happen all the time and a reset usually fixes it. Sometimes when I pair my Moga, my play store won't load. I can still surf but some apps wont connect. Rebooting fixes it until I attempt to pair again. Its not every time but about 1 out of 5 times.
I thought it was just the Moga Pivot app at first and I just use the universal driver now... but it still cuts wifi occasionally.
Probably just a quirk with 4.2.1

Audio quality bluetooth

Hi. Im really thinking about getting a z1. A thing wich is very important for me is quality in the sound via bluetooth. Use jaybird bluebuds x alot when im working out, so its important to have really good range, high enough volume and good sound. Have the boeffla kernel with excellent quality on s3.
So any thoughts about this?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I use Beats Wireless. I used to have s3...after I moved to Z1 I did not see any difference. But you know they say that Z1 doesn't have as good sound as s1 which was the best on galaxy family. For me the sound quality is OK, but not great.
Go to some mobile phones shop or carrier shop and just try if it is good enough for you...
Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
I'm using the backbeat go 2 sound quality and volume are excellent for music and videos but somehow for gaming their is some microsecond delay....
But that's a android problem, BTW Bluetooth audio quality is better than my note 2...

Bluetooth issues

Anyone else have issues with bluetooth and calls?
When I'm in my car, it cuts in and out and is almost completely useless as a phone. Don't remember it being like this when new.
Att is sending me another phone to see if it does the same thing.

My Bluetooth headset has been working perfectly with it so far.

Skipping effect in the car for me. Also have a hard time getting my BT headset, a Plantronics Backbeat Go, to sound right. It's very "canny" sounding until I make a phone call (an old trick). Car connection is an HTC stereo clip.

both my car ('13 vw gof tdi, stock head unit) and my headset i use in the office (lg hbs 730) seem to work fine, not sure that helps though.
This happens for me if I have my Gear 2 watch paired with it and it's streaming music in my car. It'll cut out for a second and it's not a notification.

Afaik it wont be resolved with new phone as well. Its a bug in kitkat. Only way to fix this is turn wifi off when connected to bluetooth and driving.

Is it a bug with kitkat on TouchWiz? I had a nexus 5 before this and never had this issue. Will try turning off wifi and see if that does anything.

I have a nexus 4 previously and now a moto x and s5. Everyphone has this issue.. My problem is when i am on call and driving for some reason i can hear others voice but others cant hear mine. If i switch to ear piece and back to bluetooth it works just fine again for sometime. So i searched a lot and found that turning wifi off solves the issue. It works for me atleast

If your music stutters then it might be a problem with memory. Trying freeing up memory with clean master. Also check what process are running in settings>applications and kill some apps which are not useful for you. Try it.. Hope it works out for you
