[Q] stock lock screen app launcher - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm not sure if this is a dumb question but is there a way to use the app launch part of the lock screen when the phone is configured with a pin/pattern lock? I'm running fully stock jellybean and the lock screen displays the security part first rather than the app launcher to select unlock/phone/messages/camera. Is there no way to display the app launcher first to select the app then upon answering the security part the app launches? All I can do is unlock to home screen. If I turn security off I get the app launcher choice.

Anyone, please?

Short: No, not possible.
That's the sense of lock pattern^^

Oh right ok, the app select could come up first though, then the pin/pattern, then app launches on successful security entry. That's what happens on CM.

Disable Lock Screen

Is there a way to disable the lock screen permanately and use a lockscreen app?
...another thought?
"On certain devices that use their own customized user interface such as HTC Sense, Samsung TouchWiz etc., the stock Android lock screen is usually present but overridden by the version provided by the manufacturer." ...any way to turn of the touch wiz screen lock and use the stock android lock screen?
Flash a custom ROM...most ROMs allow you to change the lock screen to other ones that are baked into/preloaded on the ROM itself.

most lock screen applications like widget locker have a built in option to disable your default lock screen

No Lock
No go with no lock. I tried it, but still the glass slide is there after I unlock with the app.

Try widget locker it has a setting to disable the stock lockscreen. Also cm7 has this option in settings>cyanogenmod settings> tablet tweaks>disable lockscreen.
If anyone still needs an app for this. I just grabbed 'No Lock Screen' from the Market, and it works like a dream, no problems/issues.

[Q] S4 Active Missing Lock Screen Widget Features

The Lock screen widgets are missing many features comparing to S4. Anyone complaining or is it just me? My "Favorite apps or Camera" is grey out.
This is all I got in the setting. Everything else is missing.

You need to disable the security to use those functions - turn off pattern, pin, password, whatever, and set it to "Swipe". Then you can use lock screen widgets.
Got my own answer
This feature is disabled if I use the pattern lock. Sucks.

After activating the lock screen widgets you can then reactivate security code or pattern. To use them you have to wake the screen *Before* it auto-locks. Once it locks itself, you have to unlock it per usual. So you get your choice between security and convenience.

Or you can use a third party lockscreen like I do - Widget Locker gives you both security AND convenience, by layering on top of the secure lockscreen. If I click on of the widgets, I'm brought to the lockscreen to unlock to use it - except for the camera which is usable without unlocking.
When I updated my s4 active to 4.4 I no longer see the Samsung music widget on the list of lock screen widgets, just watch on, calendar, s health and a few other apps but not the music widget. Anybody having this problem or know of a fix

Getting rid of "Swipe up to unlock" - Lollipop

The stock 5.0 notification screen in nice, but kind of pointless on the Moto X since the Touchless controls do a much better job.
The problem is that it now takes two touches to get to the home screen where once used to suffice. Anyone figure out a way to bypass this yet?
On Verizon, so no root unfortunately
If you swipe up on the lock screen it will go to the homescreen with one swipe.

In Lollipop, you can set your security level to "none" instead of "swipe" as long as your guest account is disabled. If guest account is enabled, the "none" option isn't available.
You still have to swipe past the notification screen every time you hit the power button....

Huh? I'm talking about how to remove the swipe requirement. Just click on the aqua colored avatar in the upper right corner in quick settings. A dialog box appears and in the lower left is the option to "remove guest" account. Once you do that, "none" appears as option, in addition to the others (swipe, PIN, pattern) as a means of unlocking the device.
But I want to have PIN lock The Smart Lock setting will turn the pin off at home, but doesn't remove the need to swipe the Notifications screen away.

Annoyance
I agree with the original poster. This is unnecessary and annoying added step (swipe) to access the homescreen from a pattern, pin, password locks.

Alternate lock screens - swipe to unlock twice?

So I'm trying to use alternative lock screens like Picturesque and Next Lock Screen on my Nexus 6 running Chroma ROM.
This doesn't seem to be ROM specific.
I have a PIN, and I use Smart Lock with a pebble and locations for work and home.
On both lock screen apps, when I swipe to unlock I am presented with another lock screen, the stock lock screen, so I have to swipe a second time.
So Next lock screen - I swipe down to unlock, then I'm presented with another lock screen with notifications on it, where I have to swipe up to unlock (stock lock screen).
This is likely user error, but I can't figure it out how to only use 1 lock screen. Thanks for the help!

I guess without doing that only the 3rd party lock screen will be visible. Tried with go locker. Never had this duplicate luck screen issue. Though I used to have such issues with my galaxy s3 sometimes with a specific lock screen app.

That would work, but then I would lose all security on my phone (no pin unlock as a result of setting no lock screen).
This happened on other ROM's so I don't think it's specific to Chroma, but nobody else seems to be having this issue..?

Maybe you need a custom rom. Some have the option to turn swipe off when a PIN / Pattern is applied. At least on KK they did.
IMHO< The stock lock screen is too good to pass up so maybe not many people have tried. Or maybe some lockscreen apps seek to use root to turn off stock swipe (again they used to try)
I guess I'm going to hope this issue is fixed with 5.1.

[Q] [SOLVED] Lollipop issues: edit lock screen, close all apps

Hello,
I'm on 5.0.2 Sony stock FW, rooted. I'd like to be able to add custom widgets to my lock screen (Power Toggles) and to be able to enter my pattern without having to swipe up first. (The dot grid only becomes visible after swiping up from the bottom of the lock screen.)
So basically, I'd like the lock screen to immediatly show a widget and the grid. Notifications are not necessary.
It used to be simple to customize lock the screen... Does anyone know how to get this done?
Thanks!

Well, it looks like you're right. I have even tried several apps. (CM Lock, SnapLock, AcDisplay, Keypad Lock) While some offer better customizability, none show the dot grid without swiping.
I'm starting to miss KitKat already. Who could have possibly thought of this as a good idea?

Lollipop does not support lock screen widgets like KitKat did. I use Power Toggles too and now use the notification feature to show toggles on the lock screen. The reason you have to swipe up is to get past the notifications so you can unlock the device.

Scott, I hadn't considered using the notification feature of Power Toggles. That solves one problem. Thanks!
Also I must admit, coming from an Xperia V, the facial recognition works pretty fast in lock screen. (Found under security > smart lock) That means one swipe usually does the trick towards unlocking.
Sony's not off the hook as far as I'm concerned, though. Reducing customization options is never a good thing.
Besides, I don't like some other decisions they've made. Next up: finding a way to get the kill all apps button back

Glad the notification approach works for you.
Regarding customizations, if you are referring to the lack of lock screen widgets, that is not a Sony customization. It is a change to Lollipop. My Nexus devices to not have lock screen notifications on Lollipop either.

I wonder why Google decided to disable widgets on the lock screen. Surely they must know Android users love customization Security perhaps.

I found a way around this, for anyone who's interested. This thread links to stock firmware that has a "close all" button. As far as I understand, it is currently the latest version and localization doesn't matter. But I'm no expert, so please head over to that thread for any information and questions.
