Since I uograded to v20a official European firmware certain apps crash for no obvious reason
For example Google play music
Most of the time when i press the home button and all four cores get activated google play fc
This has been going on for a while and it really bothers me
Also whenever i try to open the equaliser it crashes most of the time. I will put cm10.1 on it today with wolfs kernel
And see if it is fixed
I think its because of the cores switching on or off

I manually updated to frf 85. The other day I got the ota update to frf 91. I've had a problem with browser just closing. Certain web pages, right before it's downloaded, closes and I wind up on the home screen. I'm sure I'm not hitting the home button. No force close. Btw my N1 is stock.

happens to me all the time, especially when rotating orientation, also same goes for my music app, it renders the music app practically useless as an mp3 player on the go :/ i posted a thread a while back about it but nothing came of it, i would really like to know wtf is happening its quite irritating
OK so I have tried the stock music player, TuneWiki and PowerAmp and all three seem to have the same issue. The music will simply stop playing and it acts as though I pressed the pause button. I have my Xoom in the standard HD dock and I have seen this behaviour both through the speakers of the Xoom and when I have external speakers plugged into the dock.
I have tried to determine if a notification is stopping the music, but it does not appear to be triggered by that. I tried sending myself an email to both my Gmail and Touchdown (exchange) accounts and the notification played but the music resumed as expected.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour?
I have noticed this too but for me it only happens when loading something or deleting things and it must be using alot of CPU.
not sure if this is correct, but maybe it's not the CPU - maybe it's the internal memory. I mean, let's say you're playing music, and in the background you've got google services, tweetdeck, weather widget etc... updating data and then you open the market and so on
seems like a lot of things using the same memory. If memory was seperate like on the NExus One (some internal, some on sd) it wouldn't happen...
happens to me once in a while on my 3g xoom... doesnt bother me much. however sometimes the music app totally closes(force close) and sometimes the music pauses itself.
Happens to me sometimes too.

Mine does kind of the opposite....every once in a blue moon it will open the music app
I too have noticed this but only when another application is attempting to make a sound or notify. For example when I am playing music and an email comes through ... the music will pause while the email notification is playing.
I would check your running apps. Some poorly written apps might be grabbing the sound for some reason even though it is not needed by the app.
Mine does this on Wifi Xoom as well, only appears to happen on stock music player, winamp has worked fine. I think I has something to do with other apps running or transfering data over usb.
I think motorola/google need to release a stablity/bug fix update. Theres a few quirks that need to be ironed out.

Yea, stock music app seems to be full of bugs. For me it always resorts to having to reset the xoom because the whole thing crashes. This plus the constant force closes in browsers is really starting to annoy me. Winamp seems to fix the music issue but no other market browser solves the other issue. Sorry to get a bit off track. Google needs to get their act together. I don't think I've ever seen even a windows release this buggy.
Hey,
Whenever im playing music using Poweramp and turn off my screen it pauses. Anyone know a solution? It used to work great just a couple of weeks ago.
Im running elelinux 7.1.0 v3.6 Android 2.3.7
And is it possible to get the google music beta app working on the htc hero?

Try increasing the minimum frequency of the CPU and /or changing governor.
Not sure about Google music, I had a version that worked but then tried an updated version and it just force closed no me
Edit
Just tried running Google music version 3 and it works fine on gb decked ROM. It was version 4 that I couldn't get to work

Thanks, but I increased the minimal cpu to 672 and the maximum to 710 MHz and tried all governors and it still pauses when turning off the screen.
Version 3 of google music starts up fine, but when I try streaming music it force closes
I am not having any problems and never had even on past versions of Elelinux's GB... I used and still using the kernel that came with the rom... Flykernel 13. I can admit that using other governor than smartassV2 I experience choppiness during screen-off music playback with all players.
Actually, having double checked poweramp, music is also pausing for me when screen goes off. Have checked all advanced settings and also poweramp settings but can't see why. Not sure why this happens but maybe something to do with latest power amp version ?
Ok have found a workaround for the poweramp issue. For me, it only pauses when in the app so using the widget from a home screen means I'm able to lock the screen without music pausing

That works! Thanks a lot
This bug has happened to me as well since the new version 2 was released. I reported the bug on the official forums and the dev replied saying its my fault for using a custom rom. Apparently its fine on 2.1 stock.
So I've gone back to poweramp 1.4 which works fine.
Google Music works here, but I cannot stream or make music aviable offline.
I don't think this is going to get fixed. I've tried every build of version 2 so far and this bug still remains.
Roll on feb 22!
Does anyone else get this?
When the 'my library' widget updates from a something like a new played song, my home screen suffers terrible lag until I remove and re apply the widget to my home screen. I notice this happens most when adding or playing a new song. I live in the UK and so dont have google music, so all my songs are from my computer.
Also the widget doesn't load the song thumbnail previews?
Someone please reassure this isn't just me?

I was getting the same thing, it was slowdown the whole device even on the app tray. Removed that widget and all is well again. Same when leaving the Play store sometimes too.
Swiping left and right and opening and closing the app drawer with this widget on my home screen was causing stutter - like above, removed and now its smooth as butter
Lag Fix
I posted this fix in another thread about lag, but it may help you too. I found that disabling auto-sync in Google "Currents" helped improve speed a good bit.
I have the media widget and the stuttering has def minimized after doing this.
You can see a video of the fix here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnJRYTKqnRc

Yeah, Mine won't show thumb nails now.. it did in the first few days then stopped...? Likewise a UK user... just deleted the widget and re added it, solved my lag so far, but not solved the thumbnails...

I have the same problem with both my gnex and my n7. if I remove the widget and 're add it to the home screen it goes.smooth again but if I click on anything on the widget the lag returns.
Every time I switch a track or a new podcast it wakes up my screen. Is there a way to disable this? It's never happened on any other phone before.

I am, it happens on Pocketcast too.
I'm using Google Play Music, don't have that problem (tried by leaving app in the foreground with screen off as well as with app running in background in the notification area).
Possible Pushbullet sync issue?
I have this exact issue in Google Play Music when connected to my cars via bluetooth. But it is only when I force switch tracks if it's just playing its fine.
