So who's thinking about subscribing to all access and keeping the service?
I'm on the trail version now but I think I maybe keeping it. I really like that you could listen to any song or album and let it play completely all the way through it. The new ui is nice and all but I like the color to stay blue.
So what's on y'all mine?

I've been using Spotify Premium for over a year now, and I have to say that after trying Google Music the service is kind of disappointing. I mean, the service itself is great, but the UI, Apps and the fact that it's browser only is really really disappointing.
I used it for about 20 min and I just couldn't deal with it. Let me provide some details. If you're on your desktop with Spotify (Windows 7), you can hover over the Spotify tab and you will get backward, pause, and forward buttons on the live previews in Windows 7. This doesn't work in Music because it's a browser based app.
I also find the UI kind of hard to navigate through. It looks nice and all with the Google Now theme, but it's just not... intuitive IMO.
I really wanted to switch over, but it looks like I'm going to stick with Spotify for now.

Yes I'm talking about both versions. I've used the phone app and the Web app.
Also, I should note I don't own any actual music. I stream only/save on device.

I think its a good start. Yes it could be a little more intuitive but I don't have any real issues with it. I have been waiting for Google to release a music service as I have used Zune/Xbox Music when I had my windows phone and excited I can get the same service for cheaper on my Android now.
I was very excited about All Access after hearing about it this morning. I signed up for the trial but not sure if I will keep it. The biggest drawback for me is not being able to save an offline library on my phone. It looks like the phone has to be connected Internet and able to stream while playing. This is not practical because most people has capped data plans and not to mention we can't get reliable service everywhere. So anytime you are out of 3g area you won't be able to listen anything. I also have had Spotify since the launch and being able to keep offline list on three devices have been very nice. I hope to see a similar option on Google music otherwise I will stick to Spotify.

I think this should work, all you have to do is to click on "add to the library" and then on the needle symbol. Should work for specific songs, playlists and albums.

i use spotify on my phone and have always saved for offline. I want to switch to play music because i hate the spotify app and the lack of being able to sort by artist. i have remade most of my spotify playlists in play music and want to save for offline, but for some reason the download process is taking really long and keeps failing even though i am on wifi. its really annoying is anyone else having this problem?
edit: has been trying to download a single song for over an hour, really annoying because everything else is great besides this. i am going to try reinstalling to see if that helps
I think it gives the option to download for just one song (each song or album separate, not the entire library nor the list). Just to be clear, you guys are talking about the option that says 'keep on device'?

Ok, I haven't made a list yet but will try in few. Although one more thing that I wonder, if I have the song or the list on my device, does it still communicate with Google play music? I am just curious if I can listen in two devices at the same time from a downloaded list? I know it doesn't work while streaming. On Spotify I can just turn the offline MODE on and be able to listen in two devices independently. (good way to share the cost of the monthly fee, if you have a family in same household)

ive listened on both my computer and phone at the same time playing different songs and it works fine. i know when i did that with spotify it would stop the stream immediately unless you were offline but this is much easier

Hi,
After a little help as per the title I wonder if it's possible to play my music collection which is currently stored on an external hd connected to my home router on my N7 without the need for my laptop to be turned on etc
Using an explorer app on the N7 I can see and access the music how I want as above, but I have to manually select the folders and tracks to then play each time rather than it already been catalogued within the player?
Is there a player or an app that can do this to make my collection available please?

Yeah, sorry I didn't quite make things clear, the music is on a Lan based port via my wifi router, using es explorer I can see and play a track at a time, with the bs player suggested above I can play albums etc, but its library function is awful
I'm thinking this is a common limitation. I can see and play music on a thumbdrive via OTG, but have yet been able to find a way to play more than one song at a time even if I set the player to Random.:crying:

If the external HD is connected up to your computer, you can upload your songs to google play music, which lets you stream your music to anything that has the app installed. Install the uploader on the computer and the app on the PC, very useful and works very well over 3G/HSPA. Linked it below for you.

Why is it a joke...... Spotify charges the exact same amount for mobile devices.
If Google can get the deals in place and match their library, there is no joke about it, especially if you get in early on for the $7.99 price.

I'm a long-time Rhapsody user, but I've got to say, being able to combine the music I already have or have purchased with a subscription service is awfully convenient. On the other hand, only being able to use it on the web/my phone instead of also on my xbox for living room listening is less wonderful.

i really want to subscribe to this but im outside US any ideas how i can achieve this?
I've been on Spotify for over a year, tried MOG, Rdio, everything. So far this has the best interface, with more music in some respects, with notification bar controls, and landscape mode, for 7.99. Great job Google! Just won me
I ditched MOG for All Access. I don't use all of its expanded features, but it does exactly what I need it to do.
I've not previously subscribed to a music service, couple of questions some of you may be able to answer... I have some guesses. Let me know if there are other use cases:
[Q-1] Why is there an option to still upload my music library when I've already purchased all access? I can play anything I want already, on demand or radio-like.
[GUESS-1] Is this to upload music I write, or music that's not licensed through the service (like a certain artist I want is missing, or not commercial yet)? Anything else? Should I "upload" music that I own that is available for streaming play? Will that impact anything like the quality? I'm guessing not, and I'm hoping if it detects a match it won't waste my 20,000 song space, or bother shoving up data it already has a better copy of.
[Q-2] Why can we still "buy" songs when we're all access? I can already play anything Google has. Why are you showing me this? I have seen a few comments (while searching for these answers) of people actually saying they wish their $7.99/mo. subscription came with 10 free songs... Why? That doesn't seem logical.
[GUESS-2] So I can still play it if I drop the subscription?

1) It's a holdover from when Google Music was upload/purchase only and didn't have a streaming option. I already had most of my albums uploaded to GMusic for streaming purposes. Now, though, I guess it's only if you want to upload stuff that isn't in Google's catalog.
2) For when you unsubscribe.

You can't download all access music on your pc, just purchased tracks or your own. Also, Google doesn't have licenses for every label and every artist/album. Uploading your own supplements this. I also suspect their purchase library is larger than all access streaming but I can't confirm this, just guessing.

It's there, you sure you are not looking hard enough?
I checked on my Galaxy S4 and Nexus 10, it's there under the settings. And I am willing to bet if it is one my Nexus 10, it should be on your Nexus 4.
The one thing I LOVE about Google Music/All Access is that it displays the song playing on my car's radio, Spotify doesn't. Spotify is also finnicky with headset controls...sometimes when I hit play the stock Android players kicks on.
But what I do give Spotify props for are the nice little features - the desktop program is really easy to use, easy to create and modify your playlists, easy to see what's new and trending, and I really use the Popularity feature a lot. Also the app has crossfading, which is a little but awesome feature, it's also an easier interface.
I'm really on the fence with this one.
I can confirm that Gear is working with poweramp, it can control music and display metadada ( song name etc...). Just open a music file with an file.explorer and set the type of file.to be open with de desired program. After that the gear will work work with it.

I couldnt get google music to play. Even if google music was active in memory, if I pressed next track on media player on watch - Samsung player would play.
I needed a way to make google music the default player. Google search turned up:

By appiator
Just use the above app to make google music your default music app. Now gear always plays google music. Plus no need to uninstall Samsung music player or root gn3.

SO, just to be 100% clear before I drop $300 lol, this will make it so the stock Gear music controller controls PowerAmp? As well as S Voice launching through PowerAmp for music? My Motoactv just died and the only way I could justify moving away from it is if this had proper remote features to the PowerAmp since I need my custom EQs for my 86 BMW's speakers. If this is all true, as long as I love my Note 3 coming Monday I will be ordering a Gear ASAP! Thanks in advance guys!
It seems that you need to start the desired music player first on the phone. After that all the commands from gear goes to the opened app. That's my case. I tried to set power amp as the default with app manager lite but it seems that doesn't work.

Thanks! While that may not be perfect, I think I'm sold. If anybody has it working seamlessly please post!
I'm using Android Music Player and works great.

So where do I go or what do I do to get it working with Poweramp? I'd love to get it working with my watch!

So I have to put songs into the gear itself?
If so, how much memory does the gear even have? Lol

Wait, I'm confused. It appears that some are talking about controlling PowerAmp on the Note through the Media Controller while some are talking about running it on the Gear itself. I want to know if I can use the Music controllers on music players besides Samsung's. Also, I've heard that as soon as the Gear times out and the display turns off that you have to navigate back to the media controls. Is this true and is there any way to avoid it?

Thats where I'm sorta confused myself. I wanna know if I can use my gear to control Poweramp on my phone. Everytime I use the Media Controller, it opens up Samsung music app. As for when the display turns off, I press the power button on the Gear and it's still in the Media Controller. Its cool how it shows song of name etc.

Freeze the samsung music app in titanium backup.. poweramp will be the default music player
I've gone back and forth between podcast addict and podcast republic... Both good choices. Podcast addict seems to have better sound quality... Might just be anecdotal though
What do you guys use?

Pocket Casts without a shadow of a doubt.
I love Podcast Republic, but have heard great things about Pocket Casts as well.
I use Google play music. A few years ago before they got greedy i used to use Tune-In Radio

I`m using AntennaPod. OpenSource, clean design and it works like it should. Nothing to complain about!
Pocket Casts, worth paying for.
Podcast Addict. I like it so much I paid for it.
BeyondPod Pro, also used Pocket Casts and liked that one as well.

Pocketcasts as well, use google music sometimes on my work phone but it lacks being able to skip by X amount of time (typically the opening ad), and I like to listen at 1.2X speed.

Pocket cast, like being able to have my playlists disable via the web on my desk PC at work, pick up at same place for the trip home on phone version
