When correcting words, it eliminates predictions until you start typing again. You also can not delete a couple letters of a word to fix a suffix, it deletes the whole word.
Edit: If you enter an space after a word, you can then go back and delete letter by letter.
Here is a quote from my initial reaction this in the other thread.

I noticed that if you want to go back to a word to correct it, you have to use your finger to position the cursor. If you backspace to the end of the word, you get no correction options. In fact, as soon as you touch the backspace key, you don't have corrections or predictions until you start to type or curve again. Is this intentional?

I've been using TouchPal now for a couple of days and am loving it so far. I'm still getting used to the wave part.
As for constrictive criticism, I would like to see a better layout for the number pad layout and one thing I would consider a bug is when searching or entering a url into your browser requires that you hit enter twice, I would like to only have to press it once.

I am keeping topics separate. So I am doing a new post for each subject.
Punctuation
It would be nice to have more punctuation available as secondary characters on the main screen. Currently, only one of three rows does not have any secondary characters. I am guessing that it will be added in a future version of the beta.
The punctuation slider seems odd with the two faces in it. I guess that some people may really like that though.
I am liking TouchPal wave so far. I like how after typing a word, the bar on top is for corrections while the words over the letters are next word predictions. This is a great way to solve the problem of whether to show corrections or predictions: by showing both!

Thank you for being a keyboard that is generally known for being customizable, allowing user created skins and other features. I look forward to the beta maturing enough to include the features again.

I would also like to request that a long press on the shift key switches to caps lock mode just like Swype.

It is intentional. What's your expectation? You want the choices once you hit backspace?

I just noticed that when pressing "." that it automatically adds a space (I turned this on in the settings) which I like, but when entering email addresses in the format of [email protected] after the space is added, I have to hit backspace twice in order to delete the space. Can we make that only once press to delete the space.

So I'm assuming this is different than the TouchPal I was using a couple of years ago on my EVO 4G? I discovered that version in the Chinese app market that was packaged in MIUI and loved it. I also have the current market version of TouchPal on my E4GT and now my S4. Again assume that this "beta" version is something different?

idk how twitter works ugh

Please consider making the smallest keyboard setting a little bit smaller. On my Note 2, the smallest size for TouchPal Wave seems like the normal size of most other keyboards.
Also, I posted some feedback on the original thread which I'll quote here:
dmuhamma said:
Been using this beta for just under 2 days now and have some feedback:
Wave, like any prediction, needs to learn about the user. After 2 days, it's giving me the words I'm looking for about half the time (much better than right after install without learning from messages or Twitter). The more time is passing, the better it's getting.
A bug that I can't seem to reproduce on demand, but has happened twice in the last 2 days: Sometimes when the keyboard is on screen and the screen times out, when the phone is then unlocked, the keyboard doesn't enter what's typed into the field. The candidate/prediction row shows what word is being typed or predicted, but the word never shows in the actual text field. I have never experienced this with the stable play store version.

Please, add other languages, we can test better the keyboard, if we use it in our native language.
In this way, I can't tell you guys what things are going well and what bad.
Thank you!

Very good work guys
First thing I can see is that everything is just a little bit cluttered but not too much.
Secondly thing is the "BB 10" style swiping...it is just not practical to swipe it all the way down to the space bar...most of the time i dont swipe it properly and it becomes some swiped letters on the way down.
Third. Sometimes when in a chat messenger I open the message and start typing, but nothing is actually getting typed.
Once again, thanks very much and good work

Touchpal has to implement edit dictionary option.

sub'd for future feedback...

Been using Touchpal wave for pass few days now and will say that Wave is a nice feature. It will get some use to and for the system to learn and predict your next word. Currently facing problem as other user like couldn't see some suggested words as my fingers are blocking them. Word prediction are quite far off initially with success rate of about 10% but it is getting better as time goes by.
I believe all other features from current V5 will be ported over to the Touchpal Wave once the Beta is over and would like to see features like customizing default symbols on the keyboard.
Thanks Touchpal team.

For one example: I am typing and see a word above a letter that I want save don't make it all of the way to the space bar, then press delete to get rid of the incorrect word, it doesn't give me next word predictions. The words behind my cursor are still the same as they were previously, why doesn't it give me predictions?
What is your basis for claiming that this is intended behavior by TouchPal?

Done retweeted the link hope I can get one of those e-credits

the prediction isn't all that good... and with that secondary keyboard layout being so horrible, i find myself wanting to switch back to the stock keyboard each time i type... i mean, just like you won't change the layout of a keyboard, you should NOT change the layout of the secondary keyboard... all the buttons should be in the proper place... why don't 3rd party keyboards get this?? the extra 3rd keyboard with the smilies is kinda useless and IMO not needed at all... a simple smiley key would suffice... i'm sure there's more points i can bring up... but i'm too tired to type right now lol

New Skin For Kaiser Dialer - Biger Numbers & Letters

I think the letters in the Kaiser Dialer are too small, mainly when I'm driving and serching contacts with the spped dial.
So I've made a new skin for my Kaiser dialer, with biger Numbers & Letters, and I'm sharing it with you guys.
Hope you like it.

If you are using the Original Kaiser Dialer, just install the attached CAB.
If you are using some othe Dialer, DO NOT Install! it will probably mess up your Dialer!
If you dont like it after you have installed, just Uninstall from "Remove Programs" and Soft Reset.
Enjoy!
Thanks. More dialers are definitely needed.
One question for you: is there a way to make the buttons even bigger, like to fill the whole screen? No dialer does that yet. I don't need the call history button. I guess we would have to keep the back button and a window to show the number we're dialing.
New Skin For "Nadavi_and_Dutty_Touch_Dual_Dialer_for_Kaiser- Biger Numbers & Letters
I've also made a new skin with Biger Numbers & Letters for "Nadavi_and_Dutty_Touch_Dual_Dialer_for_Kaiser.cab".
(all credit for this dialer is going to Nadavi & Dutty ).
If you are using "Nadavi_and_Dutty_Touch_Dual_Dialer_for_Kaiser.cab" just install the attached CAB and Soft Reset.
If you are using some othe Dialer, DO NOT Install! it will probably mess up your Dialer!
If you dont like it after you have installed, just Uninstall "Shayd BigNum&LetInTDDialer" from "Remove Programs", Than Uninstall "Nadavi_and_Dutty_Touch_Dual_Dialer_for_Kaiser" and than Install again "Nadavi_and_Dutty_Touch_Dual_Dialer_for_Kaiser.cab" and Soft Reset.
Enjoy!
Great My man!!!
Thanks

Thanks.... ? request...
Could I make a small request - and first - THANKS!.... I know many people like the iPhone Dialer - and I am one of them. The Numbers are just BIG - and there is not much other than NUMBERS and NUMBER DIALED on the screen. I also know the screen is a little larger - but easy to use.
I have not skinned a WM6 dialer and know there is some areas you simply need to work around to preserve on this screen - I think? Is it POSSIBLE... for someone not needing Smart Dialing - Video Dial - or anything other than BIG NUMBERS and the NUMBER at top in a skin?
I would be willing to donate to this cause. I know someone posted a request for this in another threat with a picture of the iPhone actual dialer - but really all it is are the buttons, number being dialed, and the back arrow ...
Since you were diving into these I was wondering if it would be worthy to make a request?
Thanks again - really do appreciate it.
Well done suites my eyes now
Any way to make it with capital letters? I feel like that might look better...? Or maybe a different font?

Nice work again
In trying to see differences between this dialer and the previous, I see two lines with a phone icon to the left and the letteres m and w to the right. What are they for?
Hello everybody,
since I installed this CAB, the "hide keypad" function had disappeared, and the menu (this on the bottom right corner) had some missing stuffs...
Why ?
I use the Schap's v4.31 fr
Thanks a lot !
I don't see a problem with the size of the fonts / numbers.
I would love to see a dialer though where the buttons take up the whole screen. All these dialers are for midget fingers
I'm with CoolVariable. Will someone in this forum eventually develop a BIG dial pad -- fully functional (the iPhone ones are not) for the Kaiser? The best one, I think, is Nadavi's and Dutty's, but the numbers are awfully small, and there is no option to remove the video calling for those of us who don't use it.
Modern font, big letters

Thanks for this! I like this font much better than your first one - this has a more modern appearance IMO - could you do this one in non-caps also?
Yes, I'm with you guys.
Can anyone create a big button dialer that can be user customized to a degree? I also would like to loose the video call button but replace it with the Shortcuts button.
Free up screen space for it by loosing the micro photos of people that I already know. Loose the two lines that show last call numbers (ps. m = mobile, w = work). I also don’t need non responsive smart dials. Let’s use the screen space for big buttons, good old fashioned short cut button, and lets add some ability to user customize the buttons ie bring buttons in and out depending on user choice.
Having said this, the new dialers ARE much better on the eye than the HTC standard.
Thanks!!
Why is it that everytime I've downloaded and installed these new dialers I am forced to hard reset my device. Everytime I download and install the dialers it for some odd reason activates my Roaming triangle and it turns on.
Hebrew support?
Shay, what about Hebrew support?
Thanks.
I'm having a hard time removing these dialers completely. They seem to be leaving things behind.
I've tried SKTools to completely uninstall but that is failing as well.
Any tips short of a hard reset (gasp)?
Gators
Incase anyone is interested I got bored yesterday.
I have no idea how to make a cab file or anything, In fact I just happen to stumble on the png files and made these to replace them.

htctoucher Pidgin/Manila-styled PocketCM theme v2.0 MANY IMPROVEMENTS!!

GO HERE FOR A THEME THAT MATCHES THIS FOR rltoday, mortbuttons, s2u2 and PocketCM!!: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2325150#post2325150
Here you will also find a keyboard skin I made that goes along nicely with this theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2325160#post2325160
I was playing around with my Pidgin/Manila theme for PocketCM (found here) and wasnt satisfied, so I decided to upgrade it a bit..
I am starting a new thread to make it easier and simpler to find, since the preview image is so large on the post of the first version it would get too confusing..
anyway.. here is what I came up with!

...preview does not include Segoe UI as font (it is a preview of v23 version, I have not updated it to show v25.. improvements are listed below, but Segoe UI looks much cleaner, very crisp...
As you can see when comparing this version to the last the contact page is cleaner, there are alphabetical separators and the topbar has been changed.
UPDATED FOR V.24 of POCKETCM
I have also attached Segoe UI font... truly makes this theme look much better (if you do not install the font, I am not sure how it will look, some of the placement of text may be slightly off)
for this theme you really only need segoeui (regular) and segoeuib (bold).. just place them in your \windows\fonts folder on your device!
..the font segoeuiz=Segoe UI Bold and Italic..
improvements for v.24 version:
..customized for Segoe UI font (works even if you dont have Segoe... but Segoe makes it look much better)
..made it compatible with v24 contacts (mostly image support)
..customized background color for new flip animation
..few other slight tweaks
Upon request here is a version with numbers hidden in contact view (the zip called no numbers) - when contact is highlighted the number will be there, but it is hidden when scrolling through
smspicture uploaded... just as it says.. added picture to sms view, also contact phone number to sms view and mirror to contact picture in contact detail view.
-----------------
UPDATE v25+
...new options page
...new feedback image
...sms progress bar added
...sms picture added
...new contact edit page
...new pressed image (contact list)
...works with v25 and up
...scrollbar everywhere but contactlist (gets in the way of contact pressed image in contact view)
...no screenshots.. but it looks better and now works with v25 and up
3 versions
...sms pic, numbers in contact list (htctoucher pidgin manila v25+.zip)
...no numbers in contact view (htctoucher pidgin manila v25+ no numbers.zip)
...no pic in sms view (htctoucher pidgin manila v25+ no sms pic.zip)
Enjoy!
htctoucher
hello,
Great theme.
But there is one thing that bothers me (that was the same with the previous version): when the dialpad is on and when I clic on one of the 3 buttons (#, 0 or C) it activates one of the buttons of the bottom line.
Sorry if it's not clear, but english is not my native language.
I understand..
the problem is that in order to be able to have the icons increase in size when pressed on, I have to make its pressable box be larger than its initial size. This means that the pressable box of the bottom row of icons is set under the three bottom-most buttons of the phonepad.
It shouldnt give you any problems though. All that happens is some of the bottomrow buttons will increase when you press #, 0 or C, but they will not be activated. At least not on my device.
Unless I change how the bottom row of icons look when pressed, I cannot really fix this. It is more of a graphical problem than funtional though so it is not too big of a problem. Also, if you press the very center of the #,0,C keys, this wont happen.
glad you like the theme!
thanks
htctoucher
great update. thank you!
thanks for your reply, and never mind if you cannot fix this. I'll keep it as it is.
very nice!~~
It's so much faster. I like it! I have a problem with this version though. the program closes itself and reopens every time I try to send a text message. It actually doesn't send anything. I'll press and hold for a few seconds and still nothing. Any ideas?

I have not experienced this. How are you trying to send SMS? Are you in the SMS threaded view and then just pressing the "SEND" button?
I know that if you go into options and have "use old app for sending SMS" activated then when you are in the contact detail of someone and press "SMS AND HISTORY" then it will close out of PocketCM temporarily so you can write a message with the default wm text messaging.
Is this the problem you are having?
Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I do not have "use old app for sending SMS" activated and I am trying to send the message through the SMS threaded view. I checked with my girlfriend and she actually received six messages (one for each time I tried to send the message), but the message I sent her is actually not showing in the threaded view so I assumed it was never sent.

yeah I actually noticed similar problems when sending messages... it seems to be this version of pocketcm..
I found that if I hold the send button once for 250ms (a short period) with the keyboard up it will minimize the keyboard and appear to have done nothing. At this point I found if I waited instead of continuing to press the send button that the sent SMS would then pop into the threaded view.
basically I think the only solution seems to just be to wait instead of continuing to press the send button.. or just press it once and then go back to contact view.
hope that helps
htctoucher
Ok. Thank you
Is it possible to change the contact list so that it goes first name, last name instead of how it is now?
Thanks,
ill
PocketCM uses the "File as" information from the contacts data. So if you want "First name, Last name", you have to change it there...
Afair, it's only editable since WM6 (and not in PCM), so you might have to do it in Outlook on your desktop PC.
thank you i changed the file as format and it worked perfect.

Really nice skin. I do though have some problems. I use it on my HTC Diamond and have just installed the PocketCM software and followed your guide. The problem is that the skin doesnt fit the screen. E.g. the white boxes around the text is located outside the text so it doesnt fit.
Have I done something wrong?

nope, you havent done anything wrong..
htc diamond I believe is a VGA screen, which means it is twice the size in pixels from QVGA.. this theme is made for a QVGA screen.
I dont have a VGA screen to test on, so I cant really make this theme in VGA.. if someone with a VGA screen could create the settings.ini file needed, I could potentially redo the graphics!
hi mate
thanks for a great skin
i have one question
is it possible to scroll for first letters also with right part of the screen?
i mean, i have to use left finger to click on 'A' for example and drag to 'T', i just can't do this with right thumb
Landscape Mode
my favorite skin for pocketcm...however in landscape mode there is a black square on the bottom bar between the sms and option button. Doesn't really bother me but would be nice if it was fixed. Been trying to find a fix through all the threads but unable to. I am using a mogul on the new sprint rom and pocketcm 0.24. Also if you would create two versions...one with the numbers under the names on the contact page and one without any numbers just names on the contact page. I think the numbers clutter the page and cause hurting to the eyes. However great page and i will make sure to donate for further developments.
glad to hear you like the theme!
in regards to having the ability to jump letters of names on the right of the screen as well, that should already be possible.. not sure why that isn't working for you.
and the landscape issue annoys me as well.. it seems to be a problem with the program.. I am still trying to find a fix and if I do will be releasing a new version to correct it.
and yeah, I will whip up a version with no second line under contact names
thanks for your feedback!
htctoucher
jumping letter
Sorry for the miscommunication...I am able to scroll through the contact letters by scrolling the right side of the screen. That function DOES work. But can't wait to get this theme flawless. Thanks to htctoucher and all of the individual developers. You guys put the wow factor into pocketpc's that microsoft always avoids.

TouchPal v4 vs. FingerKeyboard 2.1

Put in your vote guys! I mean i can't decide. :| But there are major differences. I'll list em
TouchPal:
Compact qwerty in landscape!
Prediction is better than rest
Skin is fit with the rest
FingerKeyboard:
Skins are awesome
Spacebar is huge
Customizable
EzInput v2:
uhh lol
Works best with xT9 (Although I have gotten fingerkeyboard to work with xT9, but it doesn't really matter if you don't use Compact Qwerty). Yes there is a compact qwerty for ezinput 2
EDIT: Added screenshots. A review and rating for TouchPal and FingerKeyboard. The .zips attached contain all the screenshots of that SIP. EzInput 2 still won't install properly :|
EDIT 2: My vote goes to FingerKeyboard It is superior to TouchPal being free and all. Guess I won't be buying TouchPal. But I definitely think that FingerKeyboard could improve a little by doing things such as making it easier to navigate between Keyboard > Text > Num Pad/D-Pad. I still think it should have a num pad, d-pad, and a symbols page separately. It might also help if the landscape buttons were on top instead of on the sides so to give the letters more space and make them bigger. I'm sure all this is possible via skinning though. Question is, who's up for it?
EDIT 3: Seems i voted too early. TouchPal is out-doing FingerKeyboard. I mean the skin is nice, but TouchPal is just more functional. Someone tell me how to add words to the dictionary!! :'(

Review: The design was worked to look kinda like ezinput? Although it does have a compact qwerty in landscape, it's not useful for big thumbs I like qwerty in both landscape and portrait. TouchPal's qwerty in landscape has been the best for me so far. Compact is helpful with you're using prediction, which seems better than xT9, but I have yet to find a way to add things into the dictionary :| But the prediction will be pretty damn awesome once I learn how to add words. The ability to just click a key and drag down to get it's other symbol and drag up to get it's capital is pretty damn awesome
Design: 4 / 5
Functionality: 4 / 5
Prediction: 4 / 5 (Until I can figure out how to add words to the dictionary)
Landscape: 4.5 / 5
FingerKeyboard
Review: This is free compared to TouchPal which is not and that is an advantage in itself I love this keyboard as well. It has the biggest space bar out of all of them and it's ability to skin and key map is better than the other two. Although it's second symbol is not accessible like TouchPal, you can define how many ms of holding will allow the second symbol of the key to appear and about 11 of these symbols are changeable via the Config. It would've been nice if all of them were changeable though, but as a bonus, you have a little texting area which has some nifty buttons such as "What's up" and "How are you doing" for quick text responses. I can also change the skin and allow clicking the buttons to either vibrate or make a sound which is nifty to know that it's been clicked. The difference between TouchPal and this is that in TouchPal since it has drag down and up functions, you cannot drag the key elsewhere. But in Fingerkeyboard, if you click a key and you notice it's the wrong letter, you can drag your finger to the other one and it won't click it until you release. It's functionality is far superior to TouchPal's. It allows you to hold the backspace button and you can delete a word and in caps if you do that, it deletes the whole line. Pretty useful so I don't have to go back and delete letter after letter if I accidentally spell something wrong. I have been able to achieve prediction with xT9 Which is awesome, but I don't need it since it's a qwerty keyboard and knowing xT9, it's not that great anyways :| Now the landscape is very similar to TouchPal's. It seems smaller than TouchPal's though and for that reason, it's easier to text in TouchPal's landscape. Although both TouchPal and FingerKeyboard have a number keypad and a d-pad, FingerKeyboard does not have the symbols that TouchPal does separately and FingerKeyboard's d-pad and number keypad is on the same screen.
Design: 5 / 5
Functionality: 4.9 / 5
Prediction: 3 / 5
Landscape: 4 / 5
According to me EzInput is only a backup So no review there. Sorry guys.
I discovered TouchPal recently and it is my favorite right now because I had conflict with FingerKeyboard and disabling XT9 with Windows Mobile 6.5. TouchPal seems to be better in call categories including typing. predicting, work well with cooked ROM. EZinput is abviously my fall back when things are not working out well.

Not yet. Still running the trial. Might pay for it when the trial ends if I end up liking it.
(forgot to add that fingerkeyboard is free )
I am and have been using PCM keyboard version .14 (w/ vga skin of course) because I like how the enlarged letter shows up above the when you click (and hold) the button.
Also, I love the autocorrect on it which is based off of the location of the buttons.
The one thing I don't like about PCMkeyboard is that it glitches sometimes and gets stuck. Also the buttons are just a little smaller than I'd like them to be.
Are there any other keyboards that do the autocorrect based on letter placement and the popup of the letter (similar to iPhone) that PCM keyboard does?

FingerKeyboard and TouchPal both popup the letter. TouchPAl has a great autocorrect software and FingerKeyboard can be used with xT9 (which is the default prediction software in the newer htc phones). I would suggest you try out TouchPal.

I was trying not to be fair But I wrote it in the review
sometimes i use fingerkeyboard for longer messages instead of sliding out my keyboard just because fingerkeyboard is that awesome!
FK all the way!
Why Not Giannis86 FK?
not sure you know or just posted original creators on purpose which lacks some functionality but giannis86 updated and modded fingerkeyboard with a 123 button for easy switching between keyboard text and numbers etc. and has arrows. you may want to look into this and do fk a little more justice in its comparison to touchpal
Nothin wrong with EZ input IMO, no need to waste resources on a new keyboard unless you absolutely have to, finger keyboard has to be my favorite otherwise but you know me, I like to have my usage as low as possible... =D
Could you change language with FingerKeyboard? E.g. to danish?
Yes, included in the setup (dan).
Finger Keyboard
Has anyone had the problem in FK where in xt9 you press the suggestion on the left and it restarts TF?

ShellExtension modifies the SPB mobile shell and extents it with extra features. It does its modification on the fly. There are no files that are overwritten. It changes the files inside.
So, in most cases it can change your modified SPB shell.
Thanks to Iks-In. The Russian translation for below text, can be found at youhtc.ru forum.
In detail; ShellExtension has the following options:
Options:
A lot of SPB Shell users who want to mod there shell has problems with extracting en compacting the qa_layouts.dat file.
With ShellExtension it’s possible to extract all the files from the qa_layouts.dat Zip file to the Qa_layout folder in the SPB Shell programs folder.
And Compact files into the qa_layouts.dat from the ZipToDat folder.
(the folders are automatically generated by ShellExtension)
Now-screen:
With ShellExtension it’s possible to make 6 extra Lifestyle ”lookalike” screens.
You can give each screen the name, shortcut icon, page count and menu bar you want.
ShellExtension also makes the new screen visible on the carousel and makes a shortcut to that screen in the tools section of the SPB menu.
And with ShellExtension you can change the ‘contacts’ tab into a now-screen (more than one page).
Menu bar:
With ShellExtension you can change the menu bar of the now-screens.
You can make one menu bar for all the now-screens or you can change the menu bar for each now-screen separately.
You can put from 0 to 4 buttons on a menu bar.
The button can start functions made by SPB Shell like: -ToDay -Lifestyle Home, -Professional Home, the Now-screens you made, -Favorites Programs, -SPB Menu, -Launcher, -Task manager, -Wireless manager (not
in SPB version 3.5), -Weather, -Weather conditions (not in SPB version 3.0.1), -Agenda, -Time,
-Telephone Profile,-Profile, -Backlight,-Call logs, -Fav Contacts, -SPB Contacts and
-Contact carousel.
You can Change the icon and name for each button. It’s also possible to remove the text per button.
Without the text, the button is correctly placed (lower) on the menu bar.
If 0 buttons is selected, ShellExtension automatically removes the recycle bin and makes the screen larger (in landscape wider) So you can put widgets on that space.
Carousel:
Change the now-screens and tabs in the carousel.
You can add, remove or arrange the tiles. Or change the texts of the specified carousel screen.
Language:
ShellExtension supports the language supported by SPB Shell. It uses for 75% the translation of SPB Shell.
The extra text specific to ShellExtension is placed in a separate zip file without password. It’s possible to change all the text of ShellExtension to your choice.
ShellExtension is freeware, i.e., you don't need to pay for it. I strongly recommend that you only download from this site.
Except for the language module are modifications, in any way, not allowed.
Use ShellExtension on your own risk. I don't offer any warranty and I’m not responsible for damages caused by ShellExtension (I’m not perfect...). But in the worst case you have to reinstall SPB Mobile Shell…
Version explanation:
First digit: major release (extra functionality is added, behavior of program is changed)
Second digit: Bug release (extra functionality can be added and if there are any bugs are fixed. In most cases the user manual will be updated, for the extra functionality)
Third digit: Just bug release. (No changes and no manual update)
How to Install:Just copy the tree files from the downloaded zip file to a map on you device.
After that select ShellExtension...
I know you will love it. I hope you enjoy.
Please read the ShellExtension User manual...
Please Rate,
Please give me feedback.
After 1.500 downloads no major bugs to fix reported.
Update log (2.0 to 2.0.6):
- Changed translation module;
- Corrected some English language mistakes;
- Removed (incorrect) gesture on screen one;
- Changed location of ShellExtension bottom buttons on WVGA devices;
- Fixed registry bug in "Change default contacts".
User manual
Please.
Before you ask a question about the functionality of ShellExtension, please read the User Manual.
I put a lot of time in it. I am sure you find what you want.
Language
Edit ShellExtension's Language:
ShellExtension uses two language packs (in a row).
First it uses the default SPB shell language pack. But not all the text of ShellExtension is translated in this pack.
Therefor I made an extra Language pack, in the same folder as ShellExtension. 'ShellExtensionLoc.ZIP' This one can translate all the text.
Because it translates the text buttons for the Second time, it overrides the first translation of the default SPB language pack.
The Extra Language pack uses the following format.
Original text|New text.
Do not change the File format. ShellExtension looks for a Zip file named ShellExtensionLoc.Zip and with the files ShellExtension_xx.txt in it. (xx is the language code “en” for English)
The txt files in the Zip must be saved as “Unicode” because some languages uses special chars.
If you are done. and add or changes en Language, please opload the XLS to shellextension at hotmail.com.
Latest ShellExtensionLoc.ZIP file is ver 2.0.4 (newer than in main post 2.0)
Updated:
- 2.0.3 the Dutch trans.
- 2.0.3 the Rusian trans, thanks to Iks-in
- 2.0.3 the German trans, thanks to JHimmelbauer
- 2.0.4 the Español trans, thanks to silverider
The translation module in ShellExtension is also updated.
For the best result use the latest version of ShellExtension.

Can you explain why you did to restore?
Why didn’t you use the restore function in ShellExtension?
Did you use ShellExtension on a fresh SPB install? Or with other mods? And if so, Witch mods?
For the testing part, f.y.i. I tested ShellExtension for over a month now and I didn’t have any problems with it.

Even if your phone did "collapse" you have no right to blame anybody of anything here. Developing a software means a lot of work. Unpaid work not to mention. The developer shares his work because he wants to contribute something to the community. Did you pay anything for his work? So what are you complaining about? If the software does not work for you it's a pity and you can kindly ask for help. But you have simply no right to talk to a developer of a free contribution in this tone. Why don't write a better piece of software? And maybe you guarantee that your application runs flawlessly on any piece of hardware it might encounters

Amazing app!
Absolutely brilliant, by far the best app I've downloaded in a while, I thought SPBMS was customizeble before... wow was I wrong, with this app I now have it exactly as I want, a smaller(less screens) carousel which makes it noticebly faster... Works like a charm on my Xperia X1i, running WM 6.5.3 (826x ROM) The only thing wrong is that it doesn't quite display correctly on my device, it's like it's zoomed it, but I can still see everything so it is fully functional... Again, great software, definitely worth it!

Need more info, to answer that
Witch skin are you using?
If you are using a skin that leaves the SPB XML files in tact than ShellExtension can change the Button part.
For the extra Now screens I see no problem, it makes a copy of the lifestyle screen.
Also for the carousel screens I see no problem.
But you never know. I don't know how the skin mod changes the XML files and registry. ShellExtension does it on the fly. No preinstalled XML files. In that way it leaves the skin / mod intact.
But, you can safely test. Please test it for me (and other users with the same skin).
When ShellExtension starts, it makes a backup of your qa_layouts.dat.
If it does not work with your skin, you can safely restore tot the point you first executed ShellExtension.
You find the restore button on the 'options qa_layouts.dat' page.
Please See the User manual on page 12.
Walkthrough to restore qa_layouts.dat:
- Start ShellExtension
- Select <Options qa_layouts.dat...>
- Select <Restore qa_layouts.dat>
- Select <Main Window>
- Select <Exit ShellExtension>
- Select <Restart SPB Mobile Shell>
Let us know your findings, it will help others with the same question (and skin)....
Thanks in advance..
Hi,
Thanks for nice upgrade for the app ). I liked a lot 4 button function.
But here is the problem for Landscape 800x480 for WM6.5.x/narrow taskbar that is 32px not 53 i think. The problem - buttons are overlapped .
Need a screenshot ?
I think SPB has also problem becouse default menu bar are also moved to the top (in landscape)
Another problem:
If i remove buttons (0) for both prof and lifst. screens it's ok, but when I remove only on one - it doesn work. (perhaps my mods affects this).

Wishlist: the ability to change the time required for a long press. The default is set about twice as long as I like it.
Bug: The caps lock entry triggers as long as long as the shift key is pressed twice within a fairly long period, whether or not any other keys are pressed in between. The result is that typing two capital letters quickly results in an accidental caps lock afterwards. Caps lock should only trigger if the shift key is tapped twice in a row.
Thanks!

Great idea to make the long press variable. Have to look if this is possible (should be)

Never thought about the scenario you described. You must type awefully fast with this keyboard But thanks for noticing this. I either will change the way the caps log is activated or make the time between the two taps user configurable (have to work on the shift key anyway when I'm going to implement multitouch)
Great feedback. Thanks!

Keys for the phone layout are 1.25 times wider. Forgot to mention that.
i dunno if it's obvious to everyone else, but even the "standard phone" keyboard layout has ARROW keys in the bottom row of the keyboard. i found this accidentally since i didn't see it shown in any of the screenshots.
i find that it's much easier to edit text using arrow keys than the "magnifying glass" on my Droid X. you can adjust the height of the arrow key row (and the spacebar key row) independently of the regular keys too. truly awesome keyboard!
Hello, I downloaded the paid version onto a non-rooted G-Tablet and while the new keyboard shows up in the keyboard select menu in settings, when I click on it nothing happens and when I long press on an application keyboard area only the TapNTap keyboard is available the Thumb keyboard is not listed. Any ideas or suggestions? I love the keyboard!
Can you add Russian Language please? Such a great keyboard will be very popular amoung russian speaking men.

Sorry I don't know exactly how the gtab is handling third party keyboards. I believe, but I'm not sure, that you have to copy the apk to the system/app directory like it is done on the Nook Color. Check the gtab forums how one can install a third party keyboard.

Sadly I learned today that SwiftKey also copied this function in their new beta. At exact the same way (including the option to hide the keys)
The situation is becoming unworkable. First they copied the tablet layout and now this. I'm currently finding myself asking if I can add other innovations I had in mind.
A shame for such a big moneymaker. They just ruin the market. This really sucks!! I wrote them a letter asking to solve this in a fair way, because I just feel paralized when it comes to adding new functions.

yes, there are numerous examples of this behavior in the Market and i agree it is a real problem. Google needs to address this or it will result in stifled innovation and reduced quality of applications available for android. real innovation is hard work - why should a developer be motivated to create new and exciting applications when anyone else can replicate the idea without consequence?

Google needs to address this or it will result in stifled innovation and reduced quality of applications available for android. real innovation is hard work - why should a developer be motivated to create new and exciting applications when anyone else can replicate the idea without consequence?

It's the free market. It can drive companies to excel. In the end this seems only theoretical. What I learn is that marketing is a much better investment in such a market. That's the weird tragedy of the western free market.

I'm not quite sure about the GTab, but I know when I install a keyboard I sometimes have to go into
Menu > Settings > Language & Keyboard
and then click the check box, then go to an application where I can type and do the long press to switch the standard keyboard over to the one I would like.
Hope that may be able to help you out. If not, and you figure it out, please don't hesitate to post your solution for anyone else that may encounter this problem.

V3.01 on Droid X with stock Android 2.2.1: has anyone else noticed a bit of a delay in the cursor movement when pressing the arrow keys in LANDSCAPE mode? i notice this when using Table Layout in landscape mode (5" and 7") but not when using any of the layouts in PORTRAIT mode. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling but saw no improvement. just curious if it's just me...

As far as I can see, there's nothing changed in the update that could influence this behavior. Have you tried to reboot the device? I think it's a temporary memory problem.
