actually unlimited Cell Plan - Off-topic

Does any carrier offer actually unlimited data I'm so sick of these carriers that say unlimited (just limited to full speed at XXGBs) that is a limit. I'm looking for a no contract option. I just can't seem to find any actually unlimited plans.
Thanks for any help.

Rogers IM Client on Windows Mobile

Is this possible? I'm hoping to be able to do this so that I can take advantage of their 2500 Sent/Unlimited IM messages for $7/month instead of paying upwards of $50 for a data plan that would amount to the same amount of messages sent.
why waste sms on im messages, better to use data then you can save money with a lowered sms plan and save your precious messages for other uses
Because data plans in Canada are ridiculously expensive. We have no Unlimited Data plans and the most you can get on a Windows Mobile plan is 500mb/month for $80.
now that's an absurd bandwith cap, good luck balancing out the right data plan with text plan.a shame canada cant do that like the united states
Tell me about it. It's pretty much pointless to get a Data plan in Canada unless you plan on paying through the nose.
or if you have money to blow and didnt want to replace firewood

Anyone has Vivid on att prepaid plan?

can I get the prepaid data plan with vivid, not the LTE plan?
Yes, you can... But not the regular all included for $50 plan.. you need to purchase the separate smartphone data plan.. and the rates on that are pretty expensive

[Q] Will my bill go up switching to Note?

I'm presently on a 3g (Blackberry) phone with an AT&T unlimited data plan and presently my bill breaks down as folows:
450 min - $40
1500 Txt msgs - $15
Unlimited data - $30
Total - ~$85
Question: Essentially keeping all my fetures unchanged, will my bill go up if I switch to this unlocked GT-N7000 Note?
Thanks
If it relates to the AT&T note, you are in the wrong forum. It has its own forum.
how will your bill go up if you stay on an unlimited data plan?
in my Country there is no unlimited data plan yet. But, blackberry services in more expensive compared to Normal data plan.

Figuring that they charge for everything, I just wanted to make sure that AT&T doesn't charge more for HSPA+ over 3G
Nope... You are all set. Just make sure they DO NOT change your data plan to a tiered one if you go in and talk to them (I just did it without telling ATT anything).
There is a good post on how to set it up on XDA for use on AT&T with the APN and such if you buy one!
You guys sure pay a lot for your plans in the states. I thought that the UK was bad. I currently pay £32 for 1100 mins, unlimited texts, and 500MB data. Plus the phone was free on the contract. These prices are much higher than they were a few years ago, too.

[Q] Best deal Prepaid 3G plan

Hi guys,
i learned that the Prepaid Straight talk At&t sim 3G is limited from streaming videos.
is there a good alternative prepaid U.S. Carrier that offers a good deal of data plan?
Though the regular prepaid At&t 3G ($25 for 1 Gb) is good however I would like to know other alternatives prepaid carrier that is compatible with international galaxy note.
I'm on the $50/month unlimited everything GoPhone plan on AT&T, unlimited (uncapped, full-speed HSPA+) data (!!!!), unlimited texting (international texting, too), unlimited minutes, etc. It's more expensive than what you're looking at but the value still beats any other carrier in the US, especially because the service is so good
is the GoPhone 3G data compatible with the Galaxy note N7000 (international version)?

I looked up the Webpage of Gophone phone plans. and under the column of $ 50 unlimited plan it says it is unlimited however I can not understand the footnote below.
"Smartphone users must purchase a data package to use data services on eligible plans. Pay–per–use data is not available with Smartphones."
Does that mean that the prepaid $ 50 unlimited plan has another separate internet data price?

the international note's imei is not in att's u.s. database as a smartphone, it just shows up as "samsung phone" when they hook it up. therefor, you can get the "dumphone" unlimited data plan on the int'l note without paying the extra $30 smartphone fee. i've been using it for three months, it's brilliant.
i created a walkthrough thread on how to set it up awhile back. check that if you are interested in going this route.
Straight talk is the best option. $45 a month. And some months I have went over 4.5gb with no problems. With a consistent speed of 5.3+ mbps at any given time. And that includes streaming video.

Thanks Cwininger,
1. does the dumphone unlimited plan include a 3G video streaming?
2. what is the cap data limit of your plan?

New Verizon plan versus old unlimited

So I see Verizon has a new unlimited plan. I also see it has 10gb of 4g hotspot. However, with most custom Roms on the Nexus 6 you bypass the hotspot payment with the old plan and get unlimited hotspot. Is there a way to get unlimited 4g on the new plans or should I stick with the old plan?
It should work still if you have this line in your build.prop: "net.tethering.noprovisioning=true"
I can't confirm so you might want to wait until someone gives more input.
i am currently on the large 8gb plan with 2 lines.
is it worth it to change?

That's totally up to you. Do you need the data? Or do you want to save money?
Me personally I'm staying on my 12GB (actually 18GB because I have 3 lines with 2gb/line bonus) plan. I would consider unlimited if they gave my employee discount but they don't. Only military gets discount on unlimited.
If by old plan you mean the old unlimited plan, I would stick with the old plan. The new unlimited plan is not truly unlimited.
If they use the same way to detect tethering as ThreeUk then it's ok. I have 30 GB allowance per month. As mentioned above then the build prop edit works fine on 4G data. I still have 30gb at the end of each month ????
