Hi
I recently bought from Singapore a PCB used for the i9305. It was bought as checked and unlocked of course.
The phone accepts the pin of my sim card and as its the first time it was turned on, I go to setup touchwiz and I get to as far as setting the time bit and then it freezes and crashes.
Also it looks like the keyboard does not appear. When I try to put a password on the wifi settings nothing comes up.
I assumed that if I flash through odin a new stock firmware it should clear but I downloaded the file from sammobile and odin says the file is not acceptable.
Does anyone have a link of something I can try before having to send this all the way back to Singapore?
Thanks
Bought a PCB? Meaning only the motherboard of i9305. U hv verify that it's PCB of i9305 n not i9300?

Its certain that its the i9305. I know the configuration of it + when the phone starts it says i9305

Thats either wrong file wrong format or damaged file .
Download again or take a stock rom from XDA .
jje
Yes. I think at first instance I will try downloading the file again. I downloaded the greek i9305 file, however only the one marked as kies was available.
From memory its the same file as when using odin to flash the PCB. Still has the md5 ending
I managed to re-download a non corrupt file and it worked.
Thanks for the replies

Alright, I'm pretty uniformed when it comes to these things, but as it stands I need some help. I have a Bell Galaxy S (GT-I9000M) that I unlocked to use on Telus and then rooted a month later in an attempt to trouble shoot a reception issue (don't ask). Trouble shooting failed and now I'm trying to get the circumvent the warranty issues by trying to re-flash back to the stock bell ROM, which is from what I can tell the I9000UGJH2. I downloaded it from (samfirmware). I'm trying to use Odin and am having some troubles. When I extract the file there is only a single .tar file inside (I9000UGJH2-PDA-Kernel-Bootloader-CL490514-Low). As such I am unclear as to what to enter for the PDA/PHONE/CSC fields. I assume this file is the PDA, and inside is the modem file if I look. Do I need to extract this to use in the modem field? I'm so confused.
Also, a couple of things. Ive had 'success' flashing using just the the one file in the PDA field, as well as that plus the modem file found inside extracted and selected in the MODEM field. HOWEVER, in both attempts though it seem to boot into the OS fine, neither recognize my SIM card. Clearly this is some sort of failure. Any suggestions?
Oh, and yes, I can get into download mode. That's the only reason I'm fiddling.
since the phone boots into the OS
and you have the 3 buttons working
you can try flashing it back to stock (JH2) using KIES
and see if you can get it to recognize your Telus SIM card with that.
before you go ahead, do you have friends or family with Fido or Rogers SIM you can try?
just to make sure it's not a Telus SIM card problem
I'm pretty sure I did flash it to the stock JH2. When I plug into kies and search for firmware updates it says there are none. Am I doing something wrong?
maybe if I flash the update prior to JH2? Then it will see it need an update and go to town?
on the registry just change all the JH2 references to JG9
then it will offer you JH2 for "upgrade"
or you can use this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799810&highlight=i9000m
done and done. used the regedit. prompted to update. did so. loads the galaxy s screen, then goes to black. i kind of want to kill myself ;(
try booting into recovery mode and wipe data + wipe cache
see if it can boot after that

Hi everybody.
I got this weird problem with my cellphone. I have an international I9000. after factory reset my phone doesnt recognize sim anymore. I tried it with other sims too but my efforts were not successful. I tried flashing with other roms but again nothing happened. what am I supposed to do now? have you ever had the same problem?
Manual setting of network details or a new sim .

Hi I had the same problem with my I9000 might be a different cause but its worth a try. Iv had it in tje past with other phones so I apolagise if I start abit basic but I dont know how tech savy you are not to nention we all sometimes overlook the basics.
first the basics. if you havnt already done any of there.
clean your sim, wipe the contacts clean then use a dry cloth or tissue and ensire it is dry. while the sim is out take a look at the sim slot check the pins are in the correct position so they are streght and not too far inside the housins to contact the sim properly.
if all is clean and good and it still dosnt work i would reccomend testing your sim in anothere phone even if locked most phones will at least say 'sim rejected' , 'wrong sim' or something along the lines also if possible test another sim in your I9000.
Now the gritty bit if your sim workes it is most likely 1 of 2 things soft wear or hardwear which is why I asked to check the pins above if it is hardwear and the pins look ok I cant help but bellow it a solution to softwear caused problems. in my case the cause was a corrupt modem file it can also be caused by a mismatch between the modem, csc and PDA files you can check your file versions *#1234# i cant tell you which pda goes with which modem but im sure it can bd found.
solutions to softwear issues. the easy way is to use kies if you rom is can be updated or if you can trick kies into updating. the other more risky way is to use ODIN I down loaded a stock XXJPO with seperat csc modem and pit then used kies to update to XXJPY but it wotked again as soon as ODIN flashed the XXJPO.
In short use ODIN to reflash a rom ensure you use the full 3/4 file method there are only 2 differand pit files but use correct MODEM, CSC and PDA i found myne in the genral section

Do you have a backup of your efs folder? If yes so place in the right folder and restart your phone. If not you're lost. Sorry.

DID YOU TRY manual network settings thats always the first step .
Failing that kill it go back to basics .
Block 2 Odin method to Eclair and test before upgrading .

Hi I got a i9000 and went from Froyo to Kitkat and now SIM NOT RECONGIZED have tried two different sim cards.
I have put all my phone details on photobucket
scince i am a newbie and cant post links please visit my album http :// s1227.photobucket.com/user/giibboo/library/I9000
.....im just guessing theres no pda modem info so if someone could direct me to the correct fix and files etc to use would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou
Hi
Not sure exactly how ive managed to do this, but il try to explain.
I got a i9000 from a mate that was locked to orange uk,
I updated it to gingerbread via kies as it had eclair on it, rooted it, then sim unlocked it. Everything was working fine at this point.
I played around with a few different roms until i found one i liked (miui)
Everything seemed to be working fine, was registered on t-mobile could browse the net. but then when it came to making calls it would hang up straight away, within 2-3 seconds of pressing call!
Since then ive reflashed it meny times thinking its probably either a rom of kernel issue, but still no luck.
just to clarify, it made calls ok after sim unlock, it still connects to t-mobile and i can still browse the net ok
If anyone has any ideas of what i could try please reply
Cheers Rod
I think u haven't put the phone and csc and pit and pda files to their place. U've put phone with pda and viceversa.
try flashing different rom with 3 files... i hope that will work
the only rom i could find with 3 file was an eclair one,
i assumed i still gotta use the 512 pit file with that?
tried swapping the pda with phone and it failed half way through
heres the files ive got and where i put them
s1_odin_20100512.pit = PIT
MODEM_I9000XXJG1.tar = PHONE
CODE_I9000XWJG5.tar = PDA
CSC_I9000OXXJG4.tar = CSC
U can flash darky resurection. U can find hole package with odin and all.

hi every one
i just downloaded il orange rom 2.3.3 from sammobile i tried million times to flash it with odin , odin every time says pass but the i9000 just still booting .
i tried to remove the battery , to use pit file with the rom , to flash with defferent odin versions but it still the same , odin says pass but the phone booting all the time .
the rom is a tar file .
( every else rom "not tar file" working fine , but i need to flash the original rom )
any body can help me please ?
Download this guide. It is a direct link from the sammobile site.
How long are you waiting for the phone to start up. If you aren't waiting up to 30mins it is not long enough.
You should receive all the files required within the .zip file you downloaded from sammobile.com. If it was a single .tar file put it in PDA, if it is .pit file as well use that as well.
Does that help?
thank you , but i waited more than 30 min until the phone had become very hot then i feared to broke it .
it's a single tar file , should i use pit file with it ?
( in the guide samsung explains how to flash with non single file rom )
If the pit file came with the package then yes use it!
Can you give me a link to the rom you downloaded, and a link to the page you saw the list of firmwares for you.
What rom were you using before?
Also copy and paste what is says when you finish flashing, a screenshot would probably be better.
And lastly have you tried another computer?
F.M.K said:
3. i tried another original roms like cellcom rom its the same , but another roms like 2.3.6 and ics working just fine only the roms from sammobile do this to me .
4. i don't know how to take screen shoot of the mobile.

Make sure re-partition was ticked when you use the pit file.
Is there any reason you need a stock rom??
Ok it could be a bug with that FW somehow, try the links here
If the link is not there or after you try and flash the above rom and you still want to install the FW from sammobile then try after using the most similar firmwares above.
Finally if all that still doesn't work then download and install this.
Hopefully after installing that you can install the original. Or just stay with one of the other original roms above. I don't think having a carrier version of the rom is that important, but you know better than me because I assume it is important in your country.
If you do decide to stick with any of the firmware above then make sure you type in *#262*your imei# and select your correct csc code (3 letter code). Changing the selected code will reboot and factory reset your phone!

first of all thanks to you for helping me
second : i need afirmware with arabic , hebrew & english interface build in - only the il original one have this .
third : there is 3 providers in israel cellcom pelephone & orange , orange have a special band not like the others & this is the provider i use .
4. all the non original roms and ics's have too much problems , like radio dosn't work , low signal , market unfotunetly stoped , Restarts suddenly.
If you have a special band are you sure you have the i9000?? Is it another version of i9000 like i9000T or something. Check your box or the back of your phone after taking out the battery.
Again have you checked the firmware here it is the original firmware. It has JV9 firmware and therefore probably has your languages.. and once the correct csc is in and your APN is correct all should be fine.
This is all assuming that your phone is actually gt-i9000 not another variant.
Also the links i provide are generally quite stable and so have little or no bugs. For example this is known to be quite stable. However i am not sure about the languages..
Just found this link click by searching for the firmware name in google
And then if that doesn't work then you are not meant to have that update. Use the link for the firmware called I9000JHJV8 on sammobile, it is the earlier firmware however should fit your requirements. After setting the CSC and apn attach it to your computer with Kies and it will update to the latest.

Is a link to list that has same firmware you are trying to use from sammobile.
The reason i am giving you these links is because the files that you downloaded from sammobile.com may be corrupted. These are alternative links of the SAME firmware but different files.
Finally if these do not work and you have the same outcome that the phone does not boot. Then download and install the firmware called I9000JHJV8 on sammobile.com. It is the earlier firmware however should fit your requirements. After setting the CSC and APN connect your phone to your PC. Use Samsung Kies to update your phone.

i thing you are not understanding me , the proccess of flashing the phone completes just fine and the phone start booting but it still booting ( the booting animation working fine ) it get not into the system .
i think the problem is the single tar file because all the roms with three files and icses working fine .
if there is a way to un.tar the file and made from it 3 md5 files to flash with odin maybe it will works.

Hello
From what ive seen on here and other forums this is a very common problem with no real solution!?!
Am thinking that theres no fix but thought id ask before i give up so here goes!!
I have a samsung galaxy ace gt-s5830 which was originally on o2 uk that i wanted to use on vodafone uk
I managed to root the phone and get the unlock code from the phone via the bml5.img and the XVI32 Hex Editor
I then unrooted the phone put in the new sim and entered the unlock code
The phone now says vodafone uk on the lock screen but doesnt have any signal!?!
It still has an imei and baseband number and ive checked that the imei number isnt blocked
Ive also checked that all locks are off via samsung code *#7465625#
I have flashed the firmware to UK Gingerbread 2.3.6. using odin 4.38 and a one package tar.md5 file, wiped caches and rebooted etc
but the problem still remains!?!?!
Other than the no signal problem the phone works perfect and also when i take the sim card out theres signal?!?!
One other thing When ever i reboot the phone /system/csc/o2u/system cant be found although ive read this has nothing to do with the signal problem?!?
If anyone has any ideas or needs any further info then please let me know
I am new (probably pretty obviously!) to all this so please keep replys as simple as pos!!!
Many thanks
Matt

hi matt first of all..
1. did you try another firmware?
2. you follow correctly the method to flash firmwares on odin?
seems to me that your download was corrupted, or you didn't flash properly on odin.
Its not a good thing to touch the bml5 partiton wich contains our imei ... even tough u unlocked it successfully you may have made some files corrupted wich can cause that ...
A major way to know this is ... does your previous sim aquire network?
And just to inform the error message is really not relevant ... csc function is to "inform kies" so it can do update your android version to the rom of your Country/Carrier.
Hello and thanks for both your replys
Firstly to answer matias.s
These are the instructions i followed to flash the fw
Flashing the Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 Firmware
1/. Enter Download mode by pressing and holding Volume down, select and power button simultaneously
2/. Connect phone to computer and open the Odin Multi Downloader v4.38 (it should show the com port it is connected on)
3/. For OPS, browse and select Cooper_v1.0
4/. For One Package, select the MD5 flash file attached and click start. (The attached firmware is for UK Gingerbread
2.3.6. You may use any firmware at this stage)
5/. Enter Diagnostic mode by pressing and holding select and power button simultaneously and clear caches
6/. Root the Samsung Galaxy Ace using the root.zip update
7/. Download, install and Open Root Explorer (File Manager) from Android Market
8/. Add Directory csc/system/XEU/system and move files over from CSC/system
9/. Enter Diagnostic mode again by pressing and holding select and power button simultaneously and clear caches
10/. Unroot the Samsung Galaxy Ace using the unroot.zip update
11/. Enter Diagnostic mode once again by pressing and holding select and power button simultaneously and clear caches
Odin came up with pass at the end
The only instruction i didnt follow exactly was 8
Firstly it wouldnt let me create the folder and then when i went into my directory there was already a /system/csc/XEU/system which had files
Could this be the problem?!?
And to answer snowpluralism
The sim im using works fine in other devices and as i said in the op the phone even has signal until a sim is inserted!?!
Update...
I flashed the fw again with a vodafone one package md5 via odin Odin passed the download and the phone is now branded with vodafone logo and apps
It is now on android version 2.3.5 build number gingerbread.buks but still has no signal
One strange thing when i first turned the phone on after the download it updated and downloaded vodafone apps and in the phone status said it was connected under mobile network state even though it still had no signal?!?
Thanks again for your replys and any ideas again please let me know!!
And thanks to snowpluralism for explaining about the csc error That explains why kies cant update my fw!!
