There's an app called Airstream
Install Airstream server on your device and the Airstream app on your friends device... And if both of you are on the same wifi network your friend could stream off ur phone or even copy Contents from your phone.

Nope.. It works perfectly .. I use it to stream movies from my galaxy tab to note and vice versa
I have also installed their server app for windows to stream stuff from my laptop
Maybe you are doing something wrong
Install Airstream server app from playstore on phone 1
Airstream app from the playstore on phone 2
Turn on server on phone 1
Stream using the app from phone 2.
Simple as that

Hi, One reason i like using Windows Mobile phones is that it can access my folders shared on my network, and as such, I can access pictures and my video files or divx videos to play remotely.
Is there a way on my streak to do the same thing? Now that I have my dock. I would love a way to access my movies and so and play them remotely. Anyone have a idea on how android devices could do this? Thanks.

Thanks. The app in question to use now is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756158 The CIFS Manager. This should hopefully do the trick. =D Cause who wants to pay for a "server app" on your PC.. when youd think it can just read it Natively. Thats why I have a windows ppc. Tho the app I got there works.. but it sucks cause none of the menu UI comes up right... tho still managed it.
lou0611 I dont wanna stream from a server or convert the files, I could do that but I rather just open my network folders, pick my file and play
Hello everyone! I have a question for you.. Today i tried to use SmartShare. As to my knowledge, the app i used for transfering files from my mobile phone to my computer. I installed Plex Media Server and Nero MediaHome 4 and i dont know how to start it up. When I open SmartShare on my phone, It recognizes my phone but doesnt recognize my computer. Maybe I got this app all wrong, but i hope someone can help me...
Smartshare is to tranfer files using wifi. You can use bluetooth. Better check using user guide.
No no no, smart share is clasic DLNA app...so basically you can use DLNA capable device TV, PC, notebook...that share same WIFI network (some old routers are not capable to stream DLNA). On PC zou need to enable sharing and media streming, no need for PLEX etc.

And how do I enable that?
Im using with my tv LG LV5500. There already a smartshare on LG tv`s. I dont know if it works with other tv`s. But w/ LG TV`s you just have to be on the same router using wifi, then your lg tv will apear in your 4x smartshare appand you can start using it.

Open Windows Media Player click on stream tab and check allow remote control, leave it open and scan again for players on phones Smart Share app...

Admitting that the windows you use is illegal(is is,right?) requires great courage. You should be proud...
However, using ingenuine software(hacked, cracked, illegal) is not really smart, as far as i know you windows is not capable of recieving updates. (I have checked, and tyere seems to be illegal versions of win7 out there that can take updates, with the risk of beeing detected and sued by MS)
So be careful when downloading whatever you find, even here on xda.
Buy win8, it isnt that expensive...

Windows pre-activated or "activated" with windows loader, are able to update and they give no problems. Same with office. We just need to download official trial and convert it into pro.

If you are talking about the setup app, that is what I used to set up my ChromeCast. It worked very well. I plan on keeping the app on my phone for occasions when I may want to take my ChromeCast with me to some other wifi location.

What does that have to do with the ChromeCast? This app is for communication with a PC, not a ChromeCast on a TV.
AirDroid runs through the Chrome browser. If you want it to work with ChromeCast, you'd have to cast the tab you have AirDroid open in on your computer to your TV.
Does seem a bit pointless really, it's a wi-fi app used to transfer files from/to your PC without having to mess about with USB leads etc, why would you need to display it on your TV screen too ?
The RealPlayer Cloud app is US only and I was hoping to use it (as i live outside US). Does the local video casting work outside US? Please, anyone in US, can leech an APK and post here.

Try this: http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/
You can get the app URL using Google search.
As a tip, you can create a US based google account and switch to same whenever you want to install US specific apps.

Sorry that should have read Orbot (my spell checker changed it). Its basically an app that allows you to connect to a proxy. In order to use it download it run it go into settings and change the last exit node and enter:
{us}
This tricks the real player install into thinking you're in the US and should allow you to get it working. But to be honest as soon as I discovered Avia I gave up on real player. Real player at the time was only allowing you to cast stuff for a limited period of time, not sure if this is still the case? Oh and I think Orbot is pretty useless unless your rooted.

Are you able to use a player with chromecast that plays local video's and is able to display subtitles?
As for plex. It can't use my device as a server I think... (so playing local files on my phone)

I suppose it is not as convenient, but you can always download the content from your pc to cast it directly from your phone with Plex. But it is a different solution, i have all of my content stored on my pc, so i use my phone only as a remote. Hope Avia adds the function to play subtitles.

Hi there
like the title of this thread,
i want an application wich allow me to Mirror my android phone screen to another android tablet or tv box
i search on the Play store but i don't find what i need.
so can anyone help me !!!
regards
Samsung devices can do this via SideSync. I went out of my way to get a phone and tablet so I could use the mirror/remote call/file transfer functionality. Recently LG copied this, so if you have an LG phone and tablet you may also be in luck.
You should probably check the list of devices that support the Chromecast, or consider MHL for output of your phone to a television via an adapter cable.
Sent from my Galaxy S5
After long search i think that it's not possible to mirror All the screen of the phone to another android device beacause
it's should be a protocol like ,DLNA or Miracast ... wich is possible with a dongle wifi display.
but i found two applications wich allow us to share content between devices:
1_ the first aplication is Screenshare:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.springdesign.screenshare.browser.server
2_The seconde application is EZcast screeen
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actionsmicro.ezcastrx
you can watch the video to know how it works
If both devices are rooted you can get full Chromecast functionality (well, mostly. a few things like Netflix don't and likely will never work) using the Cast receiver port that's on this board along with the Xposed module to disable the signature date check on the device that's sending the Cast, works for me.
Thank you but i don't understand very well
can you please explain what shoul i do step by step?
Regards
I can recommend to use my app Screen Stream Mirroring  , here is the free version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobzapp.screenstream.trial
I recommend it not only because I am the developer, but because the app was initially made for this.
You can use VLC for Android as receiver or any other RTSP player.
I will also release very soon a player for Android with good additional features.
Just ask if you have any question.
How it works?? there is no instructions!
please explain step by step what i should do?
Download allcast receiver to your tablet and allcast to your phone.
vnc method (root)
Try droid vnc server from the play store(this requires root access) on the device you want to mirror and get a vnc viewer on the device that you want to connect to the vnc server and this will mirror your screen

search yueye and download two apps called limitless remote and limitless server. The server app will host a server so every devices on the same Lan can pair up with, but you need to root your server device or the display will be blank, the client device which is the controlling side do not require rooting. You can also download a limitless.zip from the original website to install it in any window os, you can even remote control your pc when you host a server there

If you have a quite recent Android version it should use hardware encoding so you should be able to stream any game... up to 60fps since Android 4.4.
You can check in app preferences if hardware encoding is enabled.

I was going to try your app, but the reviews on Playstore are dismal. Possibly the most negative reviews I've ever seen for an app. So I won't bother, because as in most apps, there are dozens more.
You really should consider trashing the app, fixing it (apparently you have an insane number of ads in the free version) and re-releasing it under a different title. Word of mouth, or in this case, thumbs is everything in the dev world.
