Hi all, since the first time I saw a texture on the screen, like a photovoltaic panel in my screen (and that of my friend too), i tryed to take a photo but the black of the screen can just mirror all the room.
Anyone know what is?

I believe you are looking at the sensor grids.... it's not a defect every Z has it, so no worries

The + looking grid thing? I believe those are the touch sensors. Every phone has them like the poster before said it.

hi there.
i want to ask about O4X HD lcd screen. Is it normal that we can see a very2 thin horizontal line (maybe white or black) that is barely visible to our eyes? it is not a big problem for me,but just want to clarify with other users here. Maybe LG's true hd ips screen like that?
sorry for my bad english.
Thank you.
I've got the same thing. None of the reviews I've read online have mentioned it. Maybe our eyes are too sharp. I only notice it 20% of the time, so I don't mind so much.

Set your brightness at maximum and go to a white background, like the one from the settings menu. You should be able to see many small horizontal lines. But you only notice those when looking closely and carefully.

If you choose a 16:9 resolution (9M for example) the full screen is used, if you choose a 4:3 resolution (like 12M) you'll have a black bar.

Hey guys,
I'm new over here because I just upgraded from my Xperia S to an Xperia T (dont ask haha) so hi .
basically the first thing I thought when using the phone was what a waste the buttons were as they took up quite a good part of the screen, and so despite being 0.3" bigger than the Xperia S this was not noticeable. I also hated the aspect ratio of the screen love a good 16:9
anyway after searching on here and around for ages I finally came across a simple solution that works very well
its this app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.hidesoftkeys
I bought the pro version and its def worth it, because this is such an amazing set up!
sorry if this is already well known on here, but thought I'd share anyway, oh and if you find you can't activate the buttons in the camera mode its because you have to swipe from the side (it thinks its landscape, same with full screen games)
Very nice, I love this
I like it too

Thanks, just had a play with it. but prefer the one I posted in this thread because you can customise much more like make the icons xperia and not google nexus style, also it hides the current on screen buttons without needing to do anything yourself so more simple for people.
also guys what I realised is its best to select 'spoof soft keys' otherwise apps will open without the more options button so you'll have no way to get into further settings etc.
I've had my Nexus for only 2 days and I've noticed some artifacts on my display. I've included screenshots using Screen Test app which show some horizontal lines on my display and also vertical lines but these are more vivid on the device itself they don't seem to show so much in the screenshots. These lines are visible regardless of what I use as wallpaper. Anyone else having this issue or is this normal?? Will this clear up over time or do I need to send it in for an RMA??

LMFAO....
Ok, so because you are obviously clueless about the distinction between hardware and software, any visual artifact caused by the AMOLED display **CAN NOT** appear on a screenshot.
Those lines you are seeing are due to the DITHERING algorithm used to generate the gradient that you are displaying. Gradient = the progression from white to black through multiple degrees of gray. This is a function of SOFTWARE, not hardware. RMA will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for this.
I understand there are different gradients, this is different, what I'm seeing is lines gradient or not but they are obvious even when not using the screen test app, they are visible everywhere at anytime doesn't matter what background or wallpaper I'm using. There are vertical lines also that look like they are baked into the screen.
Well then send it for an RMA? i dont see what your purpose of this post was, to ask if its normal to have baked in horizontal lines? its not.
i dont see any lines on my display, so i would sent it back for a replacement. i guess i was one of the lucky few with a device with no issues, the only issue i found was that i did not get any lollipop with the device, see here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/missing-lollipop-nexus-6-t3046877

Hey man thanks for your reply, my question is really aiming at anyone else with the same issue. I didn't think it was right, I guess I was just hoping that it would resolve itself somehow but obviously not. As for lollipop, yeah my device came with it, why what did you get on yours, KitKat???

So if its happening on all wallpapers / screens and you're convinced its not dithering, could you get a pure whiff background and upload both the screenshot and a photograph with a camera of the issue please? All I see is the dithering so far

I definitely cant see anything on the screenshot. As for the camera photos, its tricky because they are a little pixelated, probably due to the contrast.

I think it might be a good idea to go to an optometrist to make sure that the lines aren't caused by your eyes.
Your going to have these vertical lines had them on all amoled screens. But if your seeing them on say like your home screen and other places I'd get a replacement. But if you only see them say with just a white or gray screen I wouldn't worry about it. If you want you can try this app out on Google play... Amoled burn in fixer.. Good day
Thanks for your comments guys, I believe I do have an issue with my display therefore will proceed with a DOA replacement. Cheers

Does anyone else have this problem it only shows on a black wallpaper and can be hidden by placing a black object over it. Its almost like the wallpapers not fully black but ive tried multiple black images and a factory reset and its always there im sure its a fault just wanted to point it out and see if anyone else sees it on there device.
I've seen it as well... But not just on this phone it has been on multiple Samsung devices that I have owned as I typically run a solid black background.
yeah this one sucks .. only solution is by using live wallpaper or set samsung theme wallpaper.

Yes, I already posted this query. ( Repost).Bottom line, it occurs on home screen only at top or screen. and is due to the resolution of the image used. Try a proper black wallpaper designed for the note 8 home screen and all will be good . Using black wallpaper from note 3 or 4 won't work .

The 'FIX' i use is to download any app that will let you set an image and apply it as a Live Wallpaper.
for example
download this one and set your custom wallpaper with it and apply the live wallpaper.
This way you can use any true black wallpaper you like rather than sticking to samsung theme stores wallpapers
it should have gone now
