HTC ONE AT&T first time unlocking/rooting. everything was fine until I tried installing a ROM and messed things up from there. Phone is still showing *tampered* *unlocked* and I can still get into custom recovery but the snafu with the ROM will not let me get past the HTC One screen. I used the AIO toolkit to do the process. Any help would be appreciated, going on a road trip in about 7 hours
If you're in htc One screen you can try to flash the boot.img of rom.
However, you will see always "tampered" and "unlocked" until you will relock it and use a ruu for return stock!

K. well, last night I was fiddling with my Vivid, STOCK ATT RUU ICS. However i have the Hboot unlocked and WCX recovery on it, I installed an unsigned mod to the rom, figured it would work, didn't back it up, Rom boots and phone functions, but I cannot get into settings. So whatever, is it easier to go ahead and do a new rom. Mind you i have S-ON and I can't find a screwdriver for my panel. Or can I go thru and reput the old ATT ICS RUU on the device, and how would i go about doing so.
Thanks for your help

Have you tried reflashing the rom you were using?
can you boot into recovery?
My original rom boots, and everything works. Its the original update from AT&T, There really isnt a reflash unless I relock my HBOOT and do an RUU

If you are trying to go back to stock, relock your boot loader and run the RUU.
Im with rogers and my HTC Raider was working fien then today i dropped it and it turned off and wouln't get passed the white htc screen so i looked it up and basically people said to factory reset which didn't do anything still stuck at the hboot screen and i got the PH39IMG.ZIP and put it on the micro sd but it said Main Version is older update failed and i have no idea what to do If i get this fixed ill try and pay you on paypal or something
If you can get into hboot try to run the stock ics ruu file .
If your boot loader is unlocked then in order for the ruu to except install you will need to relock it.

Let us know how it goes .
Thanks man raider is working
Good deal.
Successfully gained S-Off and Unlock via Revone. Needed to revert to return phone. Successfully locked and gained S-On, although "tampered" appeared on the b/l screen...
Problem now is WiFi no longer works. I cannot flash a complete ROM via RUU, it fails at updating signature. I cannot flash an OTA zip for the same reason. I cannot enter recovery - all I get is the red triangle.
I cannot regain S-Off, or Unlock (via Revone). Error 2.
I've tried firmware.zip - many parts fail. Although my ROM version is now dated April 12th not May 3rd.
Other than WiFi and tampered, the phone works.
I'm stuck!
You should have done s on only when everything else is stock, your lucky your phone even turns on.
I would try to re unlock it, flash a custom recovery and flash a rom get it working again. Then s off and try the whole going stock procedure again.

It won't unlock from Revone
Unlock by flashing the unlock token from htc dev

Done that. However, if the bootloader's knackered, or partly so, a Custom ROM won't flash a new bootloader. Not sure why I need the interim step. My idea was to S-off now unlocked a try RUU again

Hey everyone,
The time has come for me to sell my phone so I needed to revert it completely back to stock, Was using the latest Viperone rom with elemental X kernel. I downloaded a stock rom, moved it to my phone and flashed it, however the phone is now stuck in a bootloop on the HTC logo and I have no idea how to proceed.
I still have access to recovery, but the phone does not show up in windows no more for me to move files to and from it.
I've included a picture of my bootloader to help. Really at an ends with how to get my phone working again even after looking through these forums for the past two days, so any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

push a rooted custom rom with /system writable functionality to /sdcard using adb push from recovery
flash the rom
s-off the phone using rumrunner or firewater
remove the tampered flag and set your bootloader to locked
restore your phone back to stock using the correct ruu. (probably 1.28.401.7 in your case)
better to keep the phone s-off

Thank you for this reply, exactly what I needed everything laid out in steps! I will try it tonight when I get in from work and let you know how I get on. Thanks.
Let me start off with I think I got lucky. Try this at your own risk. I locked my bootloader and turned my security back on for a TMOUS warranty exchange for the dreaded purple tint in camera. I received my replacement only to find out that in fluorescent lighting the replacement HTC ONE M7 had a greenish tint but only under fluorescent lighting. So I am getting another replacement sent for free. This is where my troubles begin. I decided to unlock my bootloader for my original phone again and root it so I can set everything up again for daily use. I got through all those steps fairly easy. FYI: original phone is on newest TMOUS OTA_M7_UL_K44_SENSE60_MR_TMOUS_5.14.531.1_R-4.19.531.10_release_373019xng22l97gj5szmwv. I then relocked the phone and tried to flash RUU Zip M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_TMOUS_3.24.531.3_Radio_4A.21.3263.03_10.38m.1157.04_release_336982_signed_2_decrypted.zip in order to achieve s-off again but to no success. Hboot 1.57.000 with S-ON wasn't having any of it I guess.
I unlocked bootloader and relocked bootloader several times trying several different methods to no success. Oh, my recovery was TWRP 2.7.0.0. At some point I realized that if I was going to return this phone I needed to get s-off again to remove tampered flag and actually lock phone instead of relock. I happened to come across a stock rom that I decided to install in hopes of accomplishing S-off. Stock 3.24.531.3 T-Mobile.zip was the rom. Long story. I know. So here is what I did;
Unlocked bootloader
Flashed TWRP and gained root using WinDroid Universal HTC Toolkit
Installed Stock 3.24.531.3 T-Mobile.zip ROM via TWRP
Phone would not fully boot past HTC ONE Animation screen
powered down and powered back on into bootloader
relocked bootloader and rebooted bootloader
unlocked bootloader again
Phone now booted completely into the stock rom I flashed
Proceeded to use firewater for S-off
Didn't work first time
Powered down phone by holding power button and rebooted normally
Tried firewater again and to my luck the SOB worked and I am S-Off again on newest HTC One TMOUS with an older Stock 3.24.531.3 T-Mobile rom
I'm sorry if I have no links to anything I mentioned but I am new to this so I don't really know how to link to other stuff I found on the site. Thanks to all the great people whose tools and rom I used to achieve S-off again.
Prior to doing those steps firewater would not get past the first chugging stage.
If you got the chugging message you were always going to be able to s off it. Firewater isn't worried about the hboot so much as the version of your cpu as to whether the exploit will work on it
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It would get to the chugging and sit there for bit then kick the phone back to root command. It didn't matter how many times I tried it would always do the same thing at the same spot. I would then have to reboot the phone and try again but no success. I'm just sharing what I did and worked for me. Clearly the exploit didn't want to work before I did the steps I took. I wouldn't have spent almost 30 hours of reading and trying to fix the problem I caused otherwise. Maybe it was a fluke or dumb luck. I don't know.
Where can I find this stock rom?
Nevermind this did not work.
