Hi
I've partitioned my Micro SD but when I put in windows with a card reader, windows didn't read it.
When formatting, windows reads it, but when I do the partition, stop reading it.
I have a 4GB card, so I make the partitioned 512MB EXT2 and the rest for FAT32
windows reads ntfs and fat partitions and not ext partitions
I think you have made the ext partition primary and fat secondary and memory card reader must be mounting primary partition only
using mintool partition wizard , format and partition such that fat32 one is primary

im currently buy a 16gb Class10 MicroSD for replacing my 8gb Class2 card, i have a motorola milestone, mi nandroid not have the function to backup ext partition, how i clone my old card to migrate all data and partitions to new card?
I tried to read the information from the ext2 partition with a windows driver without success.
The memory card has 3 partitions, one ext2 (i supposed) bootloader 38mb long, second partition 1,47gb ext2, and last 5,6gb fat32.
The new 16gb card, partitioned in 250mb ext2, 1,46gb ext2 , and 13,7gb aprox. Fat32.
Tried to copy only the info from the fat32 of 8gb card to the fat32 from the 16gb card, and mi apps moved with app2sd dont show in the phone, i suppose the problem is i not copy the ext2 partition from the 8gb card to the new one.
Exist some method like the ancient norton ghost to clone the both cards?
Sorry my bad inglish
Hello!
I'm trying to make an ext3 partition (300mb) and swap partition (128mb) on a 16gb SanDisc mircoSD.
The problem is that when i put a microSD into my computer, the miniTool shows i have 44mb FAT partition and 14gb unallocated space. My phone (and computer when microSD is in the phone) sees full 14GB SDcard.
So, when i partition the card by following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning , and after i click Apply, computer sees only 44mb on my SD card. when i unplug the card and plug in again, my computer one time sees 44mb, another 14gb. MiniTool shows i have 44mb FAT and 14gb unallocated space again.
I tried to make only FAT32 partition, but my card still has only 44mb FAT and 14gb unallocated.
Does anyone knows what is wrong with the card or what do i do wrong? Please help me
try format using CWM
then partition using CWM too
thats simpler than minitool
but u cant custom the size
only 64 128 256 etc
Use MiniTool Partition - Home Edition
If your computer is running windows this is normal..
If you were running a superior OS like linux you would not have this issue..
Windows cannot read or write to superior file systems like ext3 & ext4..
It won't even see the swap partition either..
Hmm, im using Windows 7 and MiniTool Partition - Home Edition. In the guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning), as i can see, the operating system is Windows 7, so i don't think it's system problem.
Maybe i'll try to do this from another PC.
hey guys, i have a problem with the sd card,,, i used partition wizard to do a ext3 partition a while ago for a rom,, now its stuck on only being 2gb, its a 4gb card,, how do i fix it???? and the ext partition does not show up
Have you made a 2gb partition on 4gb card??..
Also you have to manually mount sd partition if it's not being detected.

I partitoned my 8gb sd card with mini partition tool
6.xx...gb as primary fat32 and 800mb as ext4 primary
now after using it for some time..now i wanted to do a fresh repartitioning
so i formatted the sd card using cwm recovery...
Now I inserted my sd card into the laptop sd card slot..(using adpater)
Now the mini partition tool only recognizes 6.5GB as primary fat32 but its not showing any 800 MB ext4 partition
So wat do i do to get my the whole 7.xx GB memory back??

Remake the partition.

Using mini partition tool, delete both the partitions and format it to fat32
