Simple question, can beats be turned on/off via a shortcut or a toggle? I like Beats audio on whilst using the loudspeaker, but would like to be able to quickly disable it when I'm listening to music with headphones without having to run into the settings menu first. Thanks.

Try using an App called Tasker.

Read a thread earlier where someone said Beats couldn't be turned on/off via tasket. I'll have a look myself though
Edit: No options in tasker
I need this option myself. Has anybody solved this yet?
I remember a time when devices with Beats had a notification to quickly turn Beats on/off like Power Saver is now. Beats on loudspeaker is terrible for rock and electronic music, and great for anything else.
Anyone solved this Problem with Tasker or anything else?

Ive tried searching the forums and google and cant really find a similiar problem. When I plugged a headset in my music plays horrible and my in call volume is garbage.
If i go into settings and sound then volume there are 3 options. media, ringtones, and alarms. ringtone and alarms blow my ears out via the headset so i know it works but the media one is really low. It's as if something isn't turning on properly during calls. like its not in stereo.
im using android revolution 3.0.1 and it worked prior to this. im open to suggestions. ive tried DSP manager, and all my volumes are jacked. what am i missing to get this to work.

Still no luck. I've even gone back to an old back up from long before any of this happened and that back up has the same issue.

This isn't a bug, more of a ICS/JB feature that is somewhat annoying.
I have sensitive ears, so whenever I listen to music on my phone, I keep the volume at one unit above muted. If that sounds confusing, think of it as muting the phone, then pressing the volume up button exactly once.
I noticed that at this setting, the volume is considerably louder than in CM7 at the same setting. I understand many people actually appreciate this, but in my case, it's loud enough that I end up having difficulty hearing external noises, i.e. someone calling my name from across the room, or the doorbell ringing.
Is there any sort of app or setting that I could use to fine-tune the volume even more? I would like something that is analogous to the in-line headphone volume control I use on my PC. On my PC, I use the Windows settings to put the volume at 20%, then I use the rotary slider on my headphone wire to fine-tune, adjusting up or down depending on whether I'm on skype, playing a game, watching a movie, etc, without changing the Windows volume from 20%. If there's some way to do this on Android, that'd be great.
You ought to be able to do that, using DSP manager or a media player with an equalizer, such as PowerAmp.
...
Yeah dsp manager is your best option. Easy to use as well

Forgot to check back on this thread. Thanks guys, DSP Manager's equalizer worked.
I think the speakers sound very nice with the beats audio profile. But with my headphones I think it's really just a bass-overload and covers a lot of the music's dynamic.
So is there already a way to set it to: beats on when on speaker and beats off when on headphones? It was possible with my Desire HD.
Thanks in advance

That was...short but thanks. I should really dig into android to get this done because it is seriously driving me crazy.
I've been wondering about this as well, for precisely the same reasons.
I don't suppose the Beats toggle setting is available to 3rd party apps, is it? If it was, it would be simple enough to make a headphones in/out profile in Tasker.

Do you use any type of equalizers/DSPs? the main cause for popping sounds is that the speaker is making too much vibrations. When you use a DSP, the increases the vibrations and when audio stops, the DAC will mute it, causing all vibrations to stop at once. The more vibrations, the louder the popping sound will be when the DAC mutes it.
If you don't use any DSPs, just disable the touch sound effect by going into Settings > Sound > (untick) Touch Sounds
If you get popping sounds on stock audio with or without Beats Audio enabled (Or when you are listening to music, playing games etc), it's best you get it checked out by someone because the pop sound is not noticeable with Stock or Beats Audio.
When I refresh email or similar, the refresh sound is followed by a pop after the refresh has finished. It's like the end of a sound file as you can hear white noise in between the refresh and the pop

Then something's really wrong here. You are on stock rom right? If so, I suggest you contact wherever you got the device from and see if they can do anything about it.
This pop sound is normal when using DSPs on speakers but it's not normal when you have it with all audio effects turned off...

same here !
Come to think of it, my old one x+ popped just looking at the home screen. Also you could hear the camera chugging away like it was taking pictures randomly. The ONE does this sometimes. Sneaky apps I suspect, using recording and picture taking to spy ??

Found a solution to something that was driving me crazy so I thought it may be helpful to share.
If you use bluetooth headphones/speakers like me and a song starts loud and clear but volume decreases after first few seconds you need to reattach the dongle with regular wired earphones and turn the "Enable Audio Tuner" option off.
When I first got the phone I tried regular earphones with the dongle and played around with the equalizer under "Audio Tuner". But I left that option ON before I took the earphones off. When you use bluetooth that option is greyed out so you cannot toggle. After trying a bunch of earphones and reading articles and trying to find hidden audio settings thinking "audio normalization" may be the culprit, I saw that even though greyed out, the slider was left on ON and I couldnt turn it on because I was on bluetooth.
So if it saves you several hours I'm happy to serve. Just keep it OFF if you are using bluetooth... :good:

You know what's odd, tho (coming from a mate 10 pro where that type of setting was COMPLETELY off limits if not wired): i could use it whether wired or wirelessly, but little did i know Ms. Update would along come and with her the fun gone.
It is now (9.0.11) possible to toggle the Audio Tuner while on bluetooth, however i made a suggestion to take out dynamic normalization (the thing that is lowering the volume when the song gets loud) from the Audio Tuner and make it toggleable separately.
You can like this thread so it maybe will be spotted by OnePlus team.
