Well the new viper Rom already has it in the new update of the Rom just do a backup do a full wipe (download the Rom of coarse) and flash the Rom . Love the viper Rom you can't flash custom kernals yet because of the update but the Rom is rock sold and it rocks

when i did it the update installed fine, said your phone has been updated, but it didn't update the kernel for some reason, haven't figured that out yet,unless it has something to do with being unlocked, anyway the wifi was borked

I don't know why you want to take ota, but to do it properly. Lock your bootloader. Use ruu from this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40712553 Take ota. Then unlock bootloader, using the same token you got last time from htcdev.

true, i was just doing it for ****s and giggles, i think i'm going to go the viper route, see how that is.
Thanks all for the information, my phone works fine as is so I don't think I'm going to take the update until they release 4.2 for the HTC One.
At least now I know how to do it correctly so it doesn't fubar my phone

I'm still on 1.29.651.7 and my location services crapped out sometime on Friday. For me it coincided with the updated Google search. Google Now kept displaying a card after the search update saying that my location services were off. I tried wiping Dalvik/cache and even a factory reset. The reset fixed the Google Now issues, but the HTC weather app still errors stating it is unable to contact the location service.

Google Wallet for the HTC ONE.
-Easy fix for viper Rom
-Should work on stock rooted w/ wp . -removed Kernal
-Always save your original build.prop before modifying
Using Rom Toolbox
1. Open up build.prop editor
2. Change the following values
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro
3. Save changes
4. Reboot device, install wallet and open
-wallet takes a couple minutes to initialize so be patient, it works great!
5. Restore your original build.prop
This method should work fine on stock rooted also as long as you have a kernal with /system wp removed.
Also, if you don't want Rom toolbox you can navigate to /system/build.prop and open the file in any text editor to make the changes.

Honestly I'm not sure where I got it. I believe that it came from Viperrom. Duce says that it wasn't added in d3rpONE (I noticed mine working while I was on d3rpONE, but I think something restored it from viperrom), and the only other ROM that I've run is Viper's.

Here's the link for the working (non-modified) Wallet apk that I use, with screenshot showing it on my One.

Just install the apk normally through a file explorer, no need to push with ADB, or do anything in recovery. I uninstalled mine and tested just to be sure.

hey guys i am new to rooting, unlocking, and installing custom roms, i have one problem i am bootloader unlocked and rooted but when i go to install a custom recovery, it tells me in the command window that it was successful but when i go to enter it, all i see is the htc logo and it says entering recovery but after 10 seconds on the screen the phone shuts off and does it every time, does anyone think im doing something wrong. iu really am stuck on this one and i tried to install both types of recovery.. maybe the root didnt work?????
You don't need root (super user) to flash the recovery. Try again. Make sure htc drivers are installed and the phone is recognized by the computer. Also, you may have had a bad download of the recoveries. Try downloading again. I just used the files from the sticky Q&A thread and my recovery install was very quick and painless. Good luck.

Long hold power and volume down. It should eventually take you to bootloader where you can select boot to recovery and restore a backup. If you don't have one, do an adb sideload of a known working Rom .

Hi everybody!
I bought my new phone a week ago, It's a developer edition
I did all the regular phases:
Charged my phone till the LED was green
Turn it on and started the HTC file transfer tool
Entered my Gmail account
and then it got stuck, started a reboot loop not pasing the splash screen
I can get to the bootloader but more than that nothing
I read a lot of threads, tried them and none of them could help...
I was hoping someone would help me
I would like to keep the phone and not give it back
thanks and sorry it was so long!

The best I can think of is to flash another rom. Every time I have bricked my device, flashing the correct ROM has worked for me. Since your device is new and you have used the right RUU, I guess there is something wrong with the device.
You can consult nearby service center or call the helpline no. If there is a software bug they can fix it. They won't charge much for that.
EDIT: I just remembered that to restore from ruu the bootloader must be locked.

Has anyone else been receiving an error when updating their profile with the new OTA update? Additionally is anyone receiving error 1233 when trying to update their PRL? If so has anyone found a solution? I found a few people complaining about the issue on various threads here and around the internet but with no solution. This seems to be causing issue with both rooted and non rooted phones.
In my case I am S-OFF rooted. Took the update with stock recovery.
I figured it might be worth while to have this in one thread.
In my case these two functions are useful as I am in a poor coverage area and am now constantly receiving the "no data connection" error. That said these issues still persist in well covered areas.

Same Problem
Ever since the new update, 3.05.651.5, I get error code 1233 when trying to update PRL and also can't update my Profile. I called HTC they said it was a Sprint error code so I called Sprint and they re-provisioned my phone. This was unsuccessful and told me to wait a day or so. There are quite a few people having the same issue and the latest word on the Sprint Forums is that HTC is aware of the problem and working on it. My HTC ONE is "stock". Not rooted.

Running the RUU seems to fix this issue for everyone thus far. It must be some issue with residual files left behind from the older version when taking the OTA.

If by download another copy you mean the updates provided in other threads you could try it but it did not work for me. The RUU was the only solution.
In the past week on 2 occasions I woke up with a notification from Tmobile saying it was the download for the 4.4.2 Kickat update. So I downloaded it (both times) then clicked install.
