No need to tell us you are a newbie
You proved that when you posted a question in the general section.
Also, that you have obviously failed to find the search box. Its in the top right, just search in there and you will find your answer

You both are posting in the wrong forum. This is the Samsung Captivate forum, I believe you are looking for the Sony Xperia forum. This happens way too often in this forum...
kaibigan or puriketsuangel, I need to know what link you followed to get to the Captivate section, so I can have it fixed. I tried to find the appropriate forum for your device, but there isn't one, as your phone is too new. Please advise how you got here.
Sorry

1) Rooting and unlocking the bootloader has nothing to do with sim unlocking. Flashing a custom ROM will NOT sim unlock your phone. Goto a paid for site or speak to your carrier to get sim unlock.
2) There are loads of guides in this forum to root and unlock the T, no need to look under other device forums.
3) Is this a question? I think so for several reasons.....one, I answered it, two, you even said it was a question in your title....guess what, it should be in the QUESTION AND ANSWER section.
Thread moved. Please post your questions here in Q&A in future.
Thanks

Ok, first watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA
I mean it seriously watch it then come back. Done? OK let's move on.
As you might have guessed, you have posted in the wrong section. Questions and help goes in the General forum for your device, this is development where people post their work. Also there are 2 or 3 threads in this section which explain how to root your device. So I recommend searching before posting. I will not post your solution, because you have to find it yourself, it's not hard at all (otherwise you and other new guys will never learn it and always keep asking the same questions over and over again)
XV 4.4?

Dude, read the forum rules and use the search function. There is a sticky thread here which says "Do not post questions here". Besides that, there are some threads that will answer your question

If status shows, that Boodloader Unlock allowed: NO, then it can't be change to YES.
You have hard locked your bootloader by your carrier or something else.
If you was on 4.1 ROM or sth, and then the status was YES, but after installation to the newer android version if became "NO", then it can be reverted to the previously status ("YES") with flashing .ZIP (search in forum, I've did that and it worked for me, but I can't remember what was it named like, 'cause I've did that ~ 8 months ago).
Hope helped

Is it so hard to answer this question? Well, you've warned him, but you haven't answered his queston..
He's new here and it doesn't take too much time from you to answer 1 or 2 sentences.
