I decided to compile ParanoidAndroid for my galaxy tab (P7510/p4wifi).
Details 3.60:
-Source code 21-05-2013 (3.60 -> now with Halo). You need to use PhabletUI to activate Halo, you can then switch to tabletUI
-Build kernel with GCC4.7 toolchain/O3, but kernel with 4.6
Details 3.55:
-Source code 21-05-2013 (3.55 -> still without Halo)
-Kernel & device tree: reverted the WiFi updates, because they sometimes caused issues - kernel version 1.6
-Build kernel with GCC4.7 toolchain
-Removed device settings (non-functional, because it does not exist for our device)
Details 3.50:
-Source code 18-05-2013 (3.50 -> still without Halo)
-Rom compiled with GCC4.7 toolchain & using O3
-InfamousAOKP 1.5 kernel
-Kernel compiled with GCC4.6 toolchain (4.7 gives problem with reboot).
Not extensively tested yet, so that is also why I added the alpha in the topic title!
I have only built this ROM for p4wifi/p7510. I have not, and will, not build for other tab models, so please don't ask me to do that. I won't
If you want to build it for another device, you can find the source code on my github:

Added some CM10.1 packages:
-CMFilemanager
-cLock / LockClock
-DSPManager
-Torch
First installation:
-Factory reset
-Wipe system partition
-Install ROM
-Install gapps (use the ones from the link below and not regular gapps)
-Boot it up

Just one note: the PA gapps are extremely fully packed. I have no interest in 50+% of the apps included, so I removed them before flashing from the zip file (on a Windows PC you can use e.g. 7zip to do that).

Gonna try it tomorrow. It sounds great anyway

Have been wanting PA for a while on my p4wifi so I'm gonna try it immediately. Will report back later. Glad to see people are still working on our old tablet!
I was about to re-flash Infamous AOKP right now, but I might as well give this a shot.
Really nice rom for an "alpha". Coming from a full wipe. Only prob i noticed is fc opening advanced menu in settings. :good:
same here on the advanced option. kasper ill grab a log on this tomorrow for us.
Sent from something Infamous...
Also the keyboard closes after typing a few words. I forgot if there was something that had to be changed in settings to stop it from happening.
I noticed that on and off. I think it depends on the nature of the text entry field due to the key layout differences you see in a standard text field vs. something like a password or email specific field for example.

Thanks for the feedback:
-Advanced settings will be removed (it is for device specific apps, which our device does not have)
-Keyboard FC can be solved by disabling gesture typing in keyboard settings
I just saw the first HALO commits on PA github

That is odd. Can you try enabling/disabling gesture typing in keyboard settings? I have had these problems in the past as well, but they were always solved by disabling gesture typing. Can someone else confirm the issue?
i was able to get around the keyboard disappearing by turning off a combination of auto correction and show correction suggestions. i left gesture typing enabled and it works fine.
ive seen a few com.google.process.gapps fc, during initial setup of gmail and dropbox account. after setup both apps function fine so not sure whats up there. will try to capture logs in abit
Wow this is awesome! Thanks dev, hope to see this continue

Does this ROM check the device ID on flashing? I have successfully flashed p7510 roms on my P4 7500 as long as the ID check isn't present.
I guess I'm just hoping as I don't have any compiling skills whatsoever but would love to try something new on the Tab 10.1 otherwise I would be staying put on the Infamous AOKP (which runs well btw).
I'd try and flash it to find out myself, but I'm at work ... and my device needs a full charge... and I'm lazy lol :silly:

Hi dev, I did post this in the AOKP thread as a reply to one of your posts, but I thought I should post it here as this would be the right thread.
Is it possible for you to compile a p4 version or remove the device id check? I would be ready to test betas as well. Thanks dev

There are still a few problems remaining with PA, so for the time being I will only build for p4wifi, as that is the device I test it on myself. Once it's stable, I will reconsider and may start building for other devices as well.

Tips:
After flashing the tablet seems not to boot:
Give it time. I mean a long time!!! It will boot. First time I flashed this ROM I thought it would not work, but it just takes a long time to boot. The bootanimation will be seen only short time, then the screen turns black. Just wait until the setup screen pops up. But it should take longer than 5 minutes. If the bootanimation is shown for a long time and the tablet does not boot, try
1) reflash the ROM
2) check that the zip file was not damaged during download (you can find the md5 checksums for all ROMs on my homepage)
How to get Developer options in Settings:
Click on Build number several times until it says that you are a developer
How to enable MTP:
Settings->Storage->Menu (3 dots top right)->USB computer connection->Tick Media device (MTP)
Organisation SD-card:
The original content of your SD-card is now in sdcard0/0
This is related to users management and I cannot change it.
LongPress on home button, then move finger up opens Quick Launch (CM10.1 feature):
Access QuickLaunch when the navigation bar is not centered:
First train your thumb to access the QuickLaunch panel with the navigation bar centered. Press the home button, then move your thumb up and the Quick Launch will appear. After you got used to it move your Navigation Bar to the left or right (whatever you prefer). Press the home button and move your finger up. Then press again just above the Samsung logo in the middle and the Quick Launch will appear. Still working on a better solution.
Show Pie-chart control when in expanded desktop mode:
First you have to setup the position of the pie-chart navigation in settings and activated the expanded desktop. After activating you move your finger slowly from the outside of the screen into the screen to activate the pie chart (works on all 4 sides). Just try it and be patient to get used to it!

As shown at Android-Hilfe.de you need to change the source code and then recompile the ROM. It is not possible to fix it on the finished ROM.

Hi BeeGee, I enjoyed your previous works. I dare to ask a favour...
I wonder if you can investigate the well-known Veetle HD video problem of CM10/10.1 based roms. Maybe you'll find a way to solve this strange thing: why videos in HD mode start for a second and then suddenly stop.
Thanks and excuse me if my question is of minor importance, but that app is very important to me.
Respect and keep up the good work! :good:
Hi BeeGee just wondering when you say "CyanogenMod 10.1 but flavored with my small own changes as usual".
What are the advantages with your Flavors over CyanogenMod 10.1.

Hi BeeGee, Veetle is a video streaming app, similar to Netflix, to watch videos broadcasted by users.

Maybe is unavailable in your area? Check also veetle.com.
Thanks!

I finally found it and had a quick check on it. The logcat shows that veetle is waiting for some response which seems not to come and then it ends the play. A report is send in the background to veetle.com. So I guess that they are aware of the problem. Not sure if I can do anything in the ROM to solve the problem. Veetle might have a problem with Android 4.2. I saw on the Google market that a lot of users are complaining about problems.
Sorry, I don't think I can help here.
PS:
I tried it on my Galaxy Note which is running Android 4.1 (CM10 based) and Veetle works there without problems.
Unfortunately I do not have a Android 4.2 ROM for my Note yet.
Maybe the problem is a combination of Android 4.x and tablet? Or a problem of the proprietary camera drivers coming from older Android version?????
I have been compiling InfamousAOKP as well as Paranoid Android for the galaxy tab (P7510/p4wifi & P7500/p4). Although I like the HALO feature of PA, I also found several features lacking in PA. Then I came across Carbon ROM:
http://goo.im/devs/carbon
They make a ROM based on AOSP, merging key features of CM, AOKP & PA. This, combined with Linaro used for ROM building, results in an impressive ROM -> high speed & versatility. I decided to port this ROM to our device as well.
Details 6-Aug release
Upstream source code of 5-August (including further improvements to HALO)
-> If coming from anything before the 11-July build, you have to reflash gapps!
Details 18-July release
Upstream source code of 18 July (including further improvements to HALO)
-> If coming from anything before the 11-July build, you have to reflash gapps!
Details 14-July release
Upstream source code of 14 July (including many improvements to HALO)
Build for both p4 & p4wifi
Latest Infamous 2.3 kernel
-> If coming from anything but the 11-July build, you have to reflash gapps!
Details 11-July release
Upstream source code of 11 July
-includes the important security patch of CM10.1.1
Infamous kernel 2.1:
-many updates to wifi & modem
This build will require a reflash of your gapps packages, normal backup/restore of gapps will work again from the next build!
Details 18-June beta release
Infamous 1.9 kernel:
-Fix fox l2_hsic problem
Improved wifi driver (from pershoot)
ROM:
-Update codebase 18-Jun
-HALO comes with a master switch so it can be disabled (default = disabled, so you have to activate it the first time booting)
-Small improvements to p4-common device tree (should make things smoother)
Details 12-June
-Source code 13/06/2013 (with Halo; you need to use PhabletUI to activate Halo, you can then switch to tabletUI)
-ROM build with Linaro 4.7 toolchain/O3, but kernel with 4.6 (to prevent reboot issues).
-Infamous kernel 1.7

You have to go GoogleNow settings (once it starts, immediately hit the settings button (3 vertical dots) in the lower right corner and uncheck "Block offensive words" and other privacy-related checkboxes you might have there. Of course, you have to hit the settings button very quickly since you GNow shuts down fast upon open. The key here is that in order to stop GNow from foreclosing, you have to get to GNow settings.
Alternatively, use cLock settings (look for them in Android Settings) to add a settings button to the taskbar, and then start GNow and hit that newly-added Settings button, which acts as a normal application-related settings button once you open any app. Then proceed to changing the GNow settings that I mentioned above.
I like the ROM. Really.
It feels like mey Galaxy Nexus on PA linaro.
Only the Phablet interface was a little... slow, but normal Tablet interface works fine for me.

Smooth Rom.
Unfortunately no option to remove the Google search bar & enlarge the screen.
That's why I chose for his PA Rom
Keep up the good work

I prefer Apex launcher, even better than Trebuchet
I prefer the additional settings in Carbon over PA. I was mainly missing the navbar customization from AOKP

Same here!
question
kasper_h
I use Carbon on my Note 2 - great rom
quick question - can you run multiple users on your Carbon build here
I use 1 user for me, and one for the rugrats
hopefully can do same here ( I know themes cant work with multiple users )
Earlier, I have been compiling InfamousAOKP as well as Paranoid Android and Carbon ROM for the galaxy tab (P7510/p4wifi & P7500/p4) based on JellyBean 4.3. For more information on Carbon ROM: http://goo.im/devs/carbon
They make a ROM based on AOSP, merging key features of CM, AOKP & PA. This, combined with Linaro used for ROM building, results in an impressive ROM -> high speed & versatility. I decided to port this ROM to our device as well.
It features the Infamous kernel (same kernel as for JB4.2, with SELinux).
PAC 14-Nov-2013
-15-Nov is same base but then build for p4
-First only a p4wifi build (will build for p4 soon, but first want to know whether the p4wifi build works fine)
-Many upstream fixes from PAC from the last month
-Cleaned repo -> pure PAC build
PAC 17-Oct-2013 - II
-both p4 & p4wifi
-same fixes as the build posted earlier today
-removed MultiWindow (does not work well)
-some additional fixes (to frameworks.jar)
PAC 17-Oct-2013
-p4wifi only for the time being (first want confirmation that issues mentioned below are solved)
-solved WiFi issue by reverting an enormous range of patches (don't know the real culprit yet)
-Removed gesture control (eating RAM & causing SysUI FC)
-Remove active display (quite uselesss for our device anyway, as we can't fit our device in our pockets, and eating RAM)
-Added a range of security commits (AppsOpp, secure lockscreen and others, see github for details)
PAC 13-Oct-2013
-Updated source code to 12-Oct-2013 (Active Display & Gesture added from ChaOS)
-Source code fixes to frameworks & LockClock
PAC 06-Oct-2013
-Updated source code to 05-Oct-2013 (several bugfixes in frameworks)
-Added the option to create shortcuts in notification panel
-Port of lockscreen styles
PAC 22-sep-2013
Changelog:
-Updated source code to 22-Sep-2013 (several bugfixes in Pac-settings)
-Bugfixes to appbar
-Active display added
-Option to change mediascanner settings
-Removed Focal (not functioning - saves about 15MB download size)
PAC 18-sep-2013
Changelog:
-Updated source code to 17-Sep-2013 (e.g. several improvements to HALO)
-Infamous bootanimation
PAC - first build
For p4 & p4wifi
Changelog:
Moved from Carbon base to PAC as base ROM
Updated source code to 9-Sep-2013
First installation:
-Factory reset
-Wipe system partition
-Install ROM
-Install gapps (you can download any gapps package you like, as long as it is specifically for JB4.3!)
-Boot it up

Known issues:
-There are some issues with moving files from/to SD-card. This can be solved by using /storage/emulated/legacy in stead of /storage/emulated/0
-No menu button (three dots) visible in apps: Enable in - Settings > pac man > general ui > Show menu ui overflow
-PAC systembar in phablet UI moves when pulling down notification/qs panel. To solve: To solve the statusbar issue, please try (tip I got through pm!): 1> enable appbar in pacman setting, 2> change trigger width from 0px to anything above 0px, and then change to 0px. 3> then exit settings.
-Titanium backup may give problem. This can be solved with the info above, set backup location to /storage/emulated/legacy and your problems are solved
-If you have problems with root access, go to developer options, set root access to both adb & apps, and reboot your tablet
-I had system UI force closes after installing an alternative home launcher (Apex), when pressing the home button on the navbar. After recreating the home button (settings>carbon>navigation>add button (home)), this issue was gone

I can post some things I noticed myself
In comparison to JB4.2 version of Carbon:
-Calendar app is missing (you can install Google Calendar from Play) - anyone cares about that?
-No DSPManager
-No CMFileManager
-No Terminal Emulator
-Contains Focal, but it does not work well (yet?)

I have some suggestions to those issues.
-Well...I think no one really cares about calendar.
-I don't use DSP Manager since I use ViPER4Android. It is 10x better and provides a good volume boost, which our tabs badly need.
-Replaceable with ZArchiver from Play Store, which is far better and can extract archives as well.
-Play Store has it
-Don't really know what's Focal. I tried once while in CM10.2, I think its something like camera, is it?

Will it be developed to p4 (3G or P7500) besides p4wifi?
The merging of the key features of CM, AOKP and PA makes this kind of ROM a must. :good:

My Project/Info
So as this is a great base I will be trying out a project where I cherry-pick the features I want into the rom. I will also share this for people interested and it is also a good way for people to start their own personal rom if they want to as it's a very clean and stable base.

No although I will add the ability to customise it like in CM and other custom roms now as that is a feature that I think should be in stock by default. Yes the rest can be done with Xposed which is another point of the rom

Hey Kayant. I just saw GravityBox added QS customization! This is great news. I was waiting until this was added so I could run a PureAOSP based rom without any features that could possibly slow down the system (all ROMS I tried had some lagginess) so this will be my daily driver! Thanks!
EDIT: Kayant, is this based only on AOSP? Because I see that you said "same bugs as CM" in OP?
EDIT2: How is Pink performing on this ROM? I used it on CrDroid but when calling screen would'nt turn on again (proximity sensor). Is this issue also present in this ROM?

Same issue here. Also having a problem when booting, the first 3 minutes everything is in English and only after 3 minutes the language of the ROM changes to my language... Do you have the same issue? Also when turning WiFi on/off, there appears "<Unknown SID>" for 1 sec.. Also, where do I find options like quick pulldown and DPI change? I can't find the features you stated in OP. But very smooth ROM though!
Can confirm Pink Kernel is working perfectly on this ROM! No proximity issues or reboots/lags. Try it!
Only bugs in ROM so far:
-WiFI on / off shows "<unknown SSID>" for ~ 0.5 sec.
- Chosen language only applied after entering SIM code
- Location icon not disappearing in status bar after enabling it
- In dialer, text in Dutch is not fitting in search bar from Dialer. If you find the time, could you change "Typ een naam of telefoonnummer" in "Typ een naam of nummer"? Then it will fit perfectly. Now only half of the text appears..
Great work though! Dialy driver.
This ROM is great. Flashed pink kernel, no problems there, everything runs fast and smooth. Only bug for me is the above mentioned gps icon, it's no big deal though, thanks Kayant!

I have tried it with pink kernel: full wipe except for data, coming from Blisspop 2.1. For me it does nog work, as soon as I make a call and let the screen go off by proximity the phone does not respond tot input anymore and reboots.
You also have a 1039 model correct?
What version of Pink did you flash?
Did you flash pink after first boot, or immediatly with the ROM?
And last: what Gapps package are you using?
I would love tot het Pink working, darnet! )
Hello guys,
kernel compatibility seems to be a major problem here. How about using the stock kernel of any ROM if you need your phone as a daily driver?
I always just make a TWRP backup of only boot.img before flashing a custom kernel because it is easy to restore and anything without the need to create a .zip every time.
Note please, that this is only a recommendation by me.
If you want, I can make such a boot-backup and load it into my cloud, so you can easily downgrade and have no trouble later.
See, it doesn't serve any purpose to write all the bugs in here (again) that are already listed. I propose that we keep this clean by looking through the posts written after the announce of a new version and only posting new bugs if they really are new. It will help Kayant as well.
In addition to that, it would help him (if you fear he might think that bug X is only appearing once), if you would just thank the guy who posted the bug and so thank him for sparing you the time to mention bug X again.
Kind regards.
Is there someone who would like to share contacts.apk from this ROM with me?

PixN Rom** Theme friendly ** Better Camera ** exFAT ** Optimized kernel ** Substratum ** Clang ** Custom Settings **
This is my daily driver which I update occasionally depending on weather I need/want new features. There won't be any OTA's because of work. Do please also check the Credits section, and the Screenshots tab.
I do not have a single sim device, however I have compiled kernels for the single sim and dual sim variant both.
The kernel thread has now been split to be here since the kernel gets more updates than the rom (for now atleast).
This project has been renamed to show the my first forays into more *real* development.
Please use the Feature Request tab for feature inclusion requests.
It's also very hard to keep track of bugs reported here in the comments so please, again, use the bug reports tab...
I'm very thankful to everyone commenting, it's just hard to keep track sometimes, and seeing as DevDB has all the features required...
Since I also use XDA Labs which has no DevDB support it'd be best to comment AND add the comment in the required DevDB tab..

Please feel free to report more bugs, or even request more features but I'm not a dev so, no guarantees.
Installation Instructions
Eventually these will be flashable zips, however right now they're causing an error (IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device)
So for now install by fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_3.0.2.img
I don't recommend wiping userdata via fastboot so if you want you can always factory reset or clear Data, Cache, Dalvik and System from TWRP.
EDIT:- People having trouble flashing the system.img should try with mfastboot (fix found by @katibehi)
Downloads
The DevDB downloads are for the system.img and boot.img files only. They're in 7z cuz otherwise I can't upload them.
Get the latest kernel from the PixN kernel thread here.
Beta Release 1.999
This is in the DevDB download. The changelog is incorporated into the feature list.

Beta Release 3
MAJOR RELEASE. Go get it.
Beta Release 3.1
Bugs squashed. Notably the reboot.
Beta Release 4
Biggest YET!! Most feature complete rom around.
Beta Release 5
Bigger than ever (feature wise). First and only 7.1.1 build for our devices. Happy New Year!
Sadly this release is not on DevDB.. Since DevDB won't finish attaching files as of 1st Jan and I don't even know if it'll be back. I'm really hoping for a basketbuild account, cuz then I'll be able to serve OTA's. Anyway.
For now due to popular demand this release, Release 5 is uploaded to MEGA.
Beta Release 5.5
Still on MEGA.
The link to the folder is here

FAQ/Frequent Statements
Q0: When ${THING}?
A0: No ETAs. Don't ask.
Q1: You list my phone above but there isn't a build uploaded, why not?
A1: Haven't gotten around to it yet.
Q2: But when will you get to building it?
A2: Damn it, see Q0/A0.
Q3: How often will builds be produced?
A3: Whenever I get to them and feel like uploading.
Q4: But ${THING} isn't working for me. I cannot live without ${THING}.
A4: Not surprising, nougat is still young. Some features aren't ported and some may still be buggy. Maybe this isn't ready for you yet. And don't cry.
Q5: Xposed?
A5: Don't know. Maybe, maybe not. I'll ignore you if you complain about something and are using Xposed. Not out for nougat yet.
Q6: Can I complain about something?
A6: I'd prefer not, but be prepared for me to ignore you.
Q7: Can I report a bug?
A7: Absolutely. Please mention the kernel version and any additional files you flashed. Create a logcat.
Q8: When will you fix ${THING} that I just reported?
A8: Damn it, see Q0/A0. And if your ${THING} isn't something that bothered me, it probably just got shuffled to the back of the line.
Q9: Can I donate?
A9: Sure! Whatever you can. This takes a lot of time. Apparently not.
Q10: What is this "sdclang" thing?
A10: CM is using a optimized version of the clang/llvm compiler for official builds of Qualcomm devices. I'm using it for my own builds. See these links here and here.
I've depreciated this to move to Clang 3.9 (newer).

I just tried it on my E6633
Everything works except the camera which didn't want to work, even after some reboots.

Well.... I'd suggest you wait for a while after the reboot.. Then try the internal camera in WhatsApp... That works for me..
Though the camera problem is basically across all aosp builds until Sony or cyanogenmod or someone fixes it...
First of all thanks for your great effort! this rom is amazing.
Well time to report.
First, battery life is quite amazing, over 5 hours of sot. (around 3 in stock rom)
Second, the 64gb sd card won't get recognized... but on the other hands 32 gb one works well.
Regards,
Jerry
P.s. if you would like to solve the camera issue try to dig into @infected_'s repo... His roms had solved the camera problem.

Thanks for the heads up I'll definitely look into it
I'm not sure why the 64 gb cards don't work...
I'm not having issues with my 128gb sd card but it did format it before it would work..
Has it offered to format the sd card?
EDIT: @infected_ also seems to have used the same sonyAOSP repositories for his aosp build...
It's unlikely but maybe a different tool chain might help... I'll check. Also they seem to be all marshmallow builds... That might also be behind their camera working better...
camera isnt working yet on AOSP, on the kitakami/msm8994 family and all others. with some hacks msm8974 was taking pictures, but nothing stable.
regards.
What about the battery life during the night for you ?
It started from 82% at 2:00 AM, and now it's at 65%...

Yikes, that seems really awful. I'd suggest you use naptime for aggressive doze.
You could also try the doze app which stops background data for chosen apps...
With naptime installed you should get much better battery life...
Did you clean flash this?

I'll try Naptime and Doze app secondly.
Thanks for your tricks. I will tell you if it resolved my issue
And yup, I did a clean install
I can't flash system.img, fastboot shows this error
(load_file: could not allocate -1585037392 bytes
error: cannot load 'system.img')
I downloaded system.img two times but same error.

Which system are you coming from?
I think that error probably has to do with the larger size of the system image because of gapps being included..
Are you trying a full wipe?
finly i flashed it every think is good but camera dosent work. for now i come back to stock.camera important for me.thanks for your work
Is it possible to make this compatible with the E6653 device? The rom loads perfectly on my phone, only thing not working is my SIM card because I dont have a DSDS phone.

Yup it is possible and I'll release a working boot.img for the e6653 with the next release (hopefully today itself)
Actually the delay is because I'm compiling with uber but my first build was laggy as hell.

Why you don't flash this(http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/cyanogenmod-14-1-xperia-z5-e6553-t3493283) on your e6653?

Actually trying that one now, funnily enough it's not detecting my SIM card either. Never had this issue before, might be because I am in Australia.

Haha, you have no idea how excited I am right now. Eagerly awaiting that upload. Soon as it's up, I'll load it up and if all works well I'll use it for a while and give you some feedback.
Unfortunately the CM 14.1 ROM that was posted (which is for the E6653) cant detect my SIM either, lot of other people are having that issue too. Hopefully yours will be that stock experience I'm looking for.

Ok, so I installed Doze, Greenify (without Xposed, hope that it will be compatible with Android Nougat soon ), and NapTime. Without effect, always 2-3% drain per hour.
I realized that my device won't deep sleep, it was always in activity even when I wasn't using it.
I searched for wakelocks, and noticed that Google services were faulty. I disabled some of them after searched online, and it's better
I think without camera, the rom isn't complete. I am waiting for that.

I believe the sim detection in @fergy's rom has been fixed by him.. check the last posts in that thread...
I do honestly believe aosp is doing better than cm-14.1 at the moment, mostly because CMTE hasn't been doing well on the newer CM roms while Substratum is working really well...
I'm uploading a single sim kernel to release 1. Since the Uber builds are being more trouble than help...
Test it and tell me how it goes...

On release 2 (testing) with the Uber toolchain, Open Camera works... however the rom is overall very laggy using uber...
So I'll be looking into other opportunities...
By the way, have you found any non-stock rom (AOSP,CM etc) here or elsewhere with a working msm8994 camera?
If yes please link the repos here, I'll gladly try to incorporate it.
