Okay, so last night, i decided I would go big or go home and try to root my phone. I was very successful and unlocking the bootloader, but was confused what to do after that. (I'm newb). So I downloaded Rom Manager on my phone, chose the ROM I wanted, and tried to reboot, but it said it couldn't install the ROM, because superuser didn't have the proper permissions. At this time it's about 2am, and I wanted to go to bed. In my knowledge I know i had the proper superuser.zip in my sdcard, and i had the CWM i wanted to flash on my sdcard. So I turned off my phone and plugged it into a wall charger, not looking at the LED, and went to bed. I woke up with the phone plugged in, and nothing showing (ie: LEDs, bootscreen). I unplugged the phone, and re-plugged it in, and the LED flashed once, and that was it.
NOW I CAN'T CHARGE THE PHONE, TURN IT ON, BOOT INTO HBOOT. MY COMPUTER DOESN'T RECOGNIZE IT EITHER. PLEASE HELP

Umm well ure battery is probably just dead. Charge it for a couple hours (you might not be able to access phone for like 20-30 minutes). After you can boot up, plug it into your computer and flash the recovery to the phone (its in every guide im not explaining it here). Then, go into CWM and flash the super-user arm script (once again, in every guide so im not explaining it here). Finally, ditch the ROM manager app and learn to do everything by hand so you actually know whats what in the recovery. BTW which guide are u following.

so basically, my phone will not turn on anymore...and i have nooo idea what happened!! It was working fine this morning..
not battery issues, didnt drop it on ground or in water, oh and when i plug it in it doesnt even seem to have any reaction of charging whatsoever..
ive been running cyanogenmod 4.2.2
theme: xxmonsterx+plastic (soo sexxy :b)
recovery: cm-recovery 1.4.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions?? anything is appreciated..
or am i DOOOMED. :[
If you can boot into either recovery or SPL, you're not bricked. If you can get into SPL, I'm assuming you have the SDK (or at least Fastboot) configured on your comp.
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata data.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot

If you're using Linux, make sure you add the "./" in front of "fastboot" on each line.
^ he/she has 2 posts, try this:
Home + Power... do you get your recovery image like usual?
Do you have Cyans ROM still on the root of your SD card, if so, just flash it and reboot.
If you do not have his ROM still on the root, but can get your recovery, d/load the ROM to your computer, connect your SD card to your computer with adapter, move the file to the root, put back in your powered off phone, HOME+POWER and flash the ROM, reboot.
You might need a new battery...or a new phone Also, check the contacts on the phone miniUSB outlet for gunky buildup and the plug on your charger, see if that is gunked up too. may be a bad connection causing your phone to not charge.
So I'm sure this isn't the problem or he/she would have already reported back that they had figured it out. But...
Sometimes while tethered and running heavy traffic while charging if I forget to turn the screen off the battery will run so dead while the phone's still working that it'll die and I get nothing.. no led, no attempt to boot, nothing. I have to let it sit there and charge for about 10 miniutes then it'll boot up just fine, then.. the charging led begins to work again. I know bizzar but it happens.
Edit: I don't know exactly why it does it. The other reason could be that the processor gets too hot and the phone shuts down as a failsafe.

really good idea thanks but i tried and left it on the charger for almost an hr now and still nothing...
i guess its been officially bricked? :/
This problem happened to be before too. My phone started up and you could only see the backlight. the screen would still stay black. I found out the Problem was the Black flex cable that connets the Mainboard to the LCD. I replaced it and it started working again. Hope that helps your problem..
My phone got wet and now it starts up but gives me the black screen where I can press volumeup to hard reset, but it doesn't respond when I do this. I'm trying to flash it or do something to fully revert it to a brand new state, but I obviously can't use active sync and cannot get access to the phone's internal memory. How can I do anything?
flash through sd card. good luck with that. Hope you did try the phone completely
I was hoping there was a way to flash with just the sd card. Would you be kind enough to at least link me to where I could find instructions for this?
The phone is dry. It starts up fine and keeps on, stuck at that black screen. It's been a while since I got it wet.
Thanks.

Well it won't matter because it has water damage. Are the little stickers inside pink? If so then they will charge you for any repairs so it won't matter what ROM you have on..
Who will charge me for repairs?
I don't recall ever saying that I will give it in for repairs, because I am aware of the voiding of the warranty when the wet seal becomes pink. Because I realize all of this, I decided to give it a chance flashing the phone and starting it with a new install to see if that would work, as my last chance to get anything out of it.

Thanks, but I checked those instructions out already, and they assume that I am able to use activesync with the phone. The phone doesn't boot far enough for activesync on my computer to recognize it. All I can do it insert the 16gb microsd card into my usb card reader and put whatever I want on it, and then back into the phone. I would think there is a way to just put the rom onto the sd card and put it into the phone, and then press some kind of bootloader startup key combination so that the phone goes straight to the installation.

If you take a look a little further down the very same page that SonyEX1 provided, you will see this:
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Rhodium Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to RHODIMG.nbh
4. Copy the RHODIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
As has been stressed many a time on this forum, please make sure that you read through all of the instructions (entire page) very carefully prior to flashing.

Thanks, I noticed that note at the end of the post, but the only rom that I think I would be able to flash is the stock one, because I don't have HardSPL. I can't get HardSPL because I can't activesync the phone to my pc. So I pretty much need the stock rom in nbh format to try anything at all.
I noticed that when I enter the bootloader and plug the phone in to my computer via usb, the computer detects something and says that an htc device is attached, but microsoft activesync still doesn't recognize it and the phone doesn't show up in my computer.
So I guess the search is on to find an .nbh format for the stock rom.

I am not sure what carrier you are on, but if you download the stock ROM from whichever carrier you need (or the generic HTC ones if you have an unbranded one) it should be an .EXE file.
You should be able to right-click on the .EXE and extract the contents into a temp directory using any decent compression software (I use 7-zip). There should be a RUU_signed.nbh file that you can rename, copy to your microSD and manually flash from there.
(And if you already didn't know, you enter bootloader mode by first powering off the phone, hold down the VOL Down key, and power the phone back up while holding the VOL Down key. You should then see the tri-color screen above. This part isn't mentioned in the instructions above and assumes you already know how to get into bootloader mode.)
Thanks. I didn't know that you could extract .exe's, so I have been searching and found someone's uploaded stock rom in .nbh format. I put it on the sd card and went to the bootloader with it. Right now, It's been at a white screen that just says "Loading...". This has been going on for the past 5 minutes without changing. I don't know how a successfull rom flash is supposed to look like, so I don't know if it's working or not.
Is it supposed to be moving or what? How long do I wait before snatching the battery?
UPDATE:
I guess the stock rom that I tried previously was faulty or something, because it was hung on the loading screen, so I downloaded the TMOUSA one from their website, extracted the NBH, and put it on the SD card. Everything started looking really good because I had a progress bar and it said something like Radio OK and something else was OK and it was loading the ROM, and then all of a sudden it rebooted into the bootloader, gave some kind of error that I can't really read because it is written on top of the other text in the bootloader, goes into the Loading screen to begin installing the rom, and then reboots again. This is the loop that takes place right now.
It seems like the problem is a dead battery though, because it started flashing fine that first time, and now the phone won't even turn on unless I plug it into USB power from the wall or a PC. But when I do plug it in, it just goes through this bootloader loop. So here is where I'm stuck.
It seems like I need a fully charged battery to attempt to reflash the stock rom or install any other rom because when the phone is in bootloader, it doesn't charge the battery, and I have no means of charging it.

you should be able to charge te phone when it is completely off/ Pull the battery out, put it back in (do not power it up), and charge it over night (or at leastfor a couple hrs)
If the phone was fine before you got it wet, what makes you think re-flashing the stock rom will make it better?
I once crashed my ROM while flashing and wasn't able to do at least anything.
There was no USB-Connection or something else.
At last I entered the bootloader and there the USB-Connection was working and my Computer recognized the Mobile. So I suggest you to try this. To enter the bootloader look for any tutorials around here.
Edit: Aaargh, havn't seen your last post, so forget about it

Because as I've mentioned previously, after getting wet, the phone boots up into a black screen where it tells me that I can press the VolUP button to hard reset or anything else to soft reset. Pressing any keys at that point doesn't do anything and I can only shut it down by taking out the battery. So I decided to at least try reflashing the rom. It looked like it was installing fine with the last power the battery had, but now I have no hope.

i have heard of shops that charge batteries up but never seen one. I suppose you may be able to buy a stand alone battery dock if they do one for the Touch Pro 2. Dont you know anyone with the same phone that could charge it for you?
No I don't really know anyone with the same phone. I've called 4 shops and all said that they either don't have the same phone to put the battery in to charge, or can't perform this kind of service. I ended up taking apart a usb cable and formulating my own usb charger. Charging right now, will report on how this worked out.
Ok. This is the kind of device i meant.

Search is broken so I'm having trouble figuring out what to do. I rooted it a while back, then updated to 1.1 using info from a thread here, and it had been fine. Today the battery was dead when I went to use it, so I plugged it in. When I checked it later, it was locked. I can power it off, but every time I turn it on it goes into the same state. I held the nook button while turning it on and the same thing happened. I plugged it in to my PC, but adb doesn't see the device.
I made a bootable Clockwork SD card and wiped the data and cache, but it's still locked up.
You need to follow my guide. Its called dummies guide to my nook wont boot. Its somewhere in the first page or two of the general forum. Your gonna have to reflash stock. Or do the 8 failed boots to get back to stock.have you tried that? It should work. If not just go through all the steps of my guide and you'll be up and running in an hour tops.
Sent from my Evo
So I recently rooted and installed twrp recovery with cyanogenmods most recent nightly. It was running smooth as butter for about a week. The battery ran dead the other night so I hooked it up to a charger and it only charged enough to show the root boot and battery symbol. Then nothing it just won't charge.
Funny thing is, when I plug it in regularly I get nothing, but if I leave it plugged in, take the battery out then back in, I get the battery charge logo for a few seconds then again nothing.
Anything I can do to remedy, troubleshooting steps before I insure it?
Kernel and battery probably have nothing to do with it.
Did you install A kernel other than Cyanogenmods' built in kernel?
Anyways, to "unbrick":
Can you put the phone in to Recovery (hold all three "home, power, volume up", and let go when you see "recovery booting" in blue text. I'm assuming you have A custom recovery installed since you have cyanogemod on it.
You can work with it from there. Wipe Cache/dalvik or wipe data/factory reset to see if it comes back to life.
See if it goes in to recovery like that, than it can be saved.
There's also odin which will bring it back to stock like when you first got it. Using A Windows PC.
Odin stock/unroot tutorial: http://galaxynote4root.com/galaxy-note-4-root/how-to-unroot-galaxy-note-4-with-stock-firmware/
You will want A newer odin than whats in the tutorial:http://cdn.droidviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Odin3_v3.10.7.zip
and the latest firmware that's not in the tutorial (download the first link, "full rom")
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/mirror-stock-tw-t3260858
If you have troubles with this let me know.
I had an LG with the same issue of only showing the battery symbol, then shutting off. It's dead to this day.
Yeah I have team win recovery. I tried a few times getting it into recovery but didn't have luck.
I have only had my used Note 4 a week, but just wanted to say maybe your battery is going bad. I remember reading about some people having problems like lockups and not booting, only to discover the battery was causing it. One guy posted a youtube video about it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q-4pYUxOsc
.
I didn't want to make a new thread. But I've searched high and low.. And nothing has been answered. So here's my story. I have a note 4 sm-n910T. When I rooted the phone everything was fine and good. I then decided to give it to a family member. I flashed it back to stock.. All was fine for a while but it started acting up. Like randomly turning off and not responding to a charge or any commands to turn on into other modes... I had flashed stock again. All was good.. Till now. My madre and received a Ota update, downloaded and installed the update. When I pressed ok to reboot new update. The phone never came back on. So I went through all the fun stuff. I tried kies.. Kies days unsupported device connected.. There is however talk between the two because it's pushed errors onto my phone as well as has tried to download the stock rom. But every which way I've tried it fails. Next. I decided to go for custom roms... And flash cf-chainfire auto root. Then twrp.. Then install supersu.. Then a rom from twrp. Now here's where it gets interesting. Nothing would pass odin if I had auto-reboot and f.reset time checked.. Any and all roms.. Files..etc would only pass with auto reboot checked and f. Reset time unchecked. At first everything seemed ok.. I was able to actually get cm 12.1 installed as well as gapps. But only the one time.. Which you'd think was good enough. But here's what has happened and what I can't seem to fix. The phone yesterday after having everything installed and sitting at home untouched.. I came home clicked the home button.. And it came on.. I scrolled a few pages.. Thought.. OK cool.. Let's get madres Sim card in and call it a night.. When I turned the phone over.. (didn't even take our the battery) tried to see if I could fit the sim in.. Which didn't.. I then turned the phone back around just Cuz I wanted to make sure it was awake.. The screen was black.. I figured it was in sleep mode.. So I hit the home button.. No response.. I hit the power button.. No response. .. The phone had turned itself off.. And when I tried to turn it on it wouldn't. Now mind you the phone has these weird phases where when I try to install or flash a rom and it fails.. And I'm forced to remote battery.. A good portion of the time it won't turn back on.. Sometimes it can be instant.. Others.. A few mins.. Sometimes even longer for it to respond.. Right now I have been accessing twrp.. Wiping all data.. Davik...cache.. System.. One by one.. Then installing a rom.. I go for a reboot.. And I get a black screen. I need help.. I'm running out of ideas and basically just fishing random idea attempts. I'm no scared to brick it.. So all ideas are welcome. Plz. Thank you.

Also how important is f. Reset time? I don't totally understand it. Next.. What about having the roms and files I flash on internal memory instead of sd. I'm not sure if I can access the Internal storage. But if I can does that help. Also I cannot access Android at all.. I can either access download mode or recovery. I have been using an external battery charger to charge my battery as well. Due to it doesn't read the charge... But! It did read a charge just fine when I had cm 12.1 working.
I would suggest:
1) In twrp wipe system, both the cache's and also data
2) use ODIN to install the stock Note 4 ROM
see -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...uide-odin-to-stock-unrooted-firmware-t2957156
3) When it is finished unplug the usb from your computer as the phone is rebooting
NOTE you might want to uncheck Reactivation Lock in Settings - Security first

Answering question one.. I do that already. I wipe everything one by one except sd... Answering question two. I have tried that already and odin fails.. However I'm sure if I tried to flash the rom and didn't check f. Reset time it might work. But as for flash stock.. I have tried several times.. I can't say one error or another I'd a cause because I get a different one each time.. What is the purpose of f. Reset time in Odin? I've searched it and to me the explanation didn't make since.

Reactivation is unlocked. Also I wouldn't be able to change any setting in the phone.. As the phone does not boot into Android. I was just lucky enough to have usb debugging active before this all happened
I am not sure what that is for
But every time I have done a flash it works if you use the steps I had there. (Not really questions)
Sorry I do not have anymore ideas.

Just now I did another full wipe and wipe of cache, davik, system, internal memory and had a successful install of cm12. 1 with gapps.. Everything installed.. Clicked reboot and the phone never came back on. I will try your idea next. I have not tried an idea where I use twrp to wipe everything and reboot into download then do stock rom via odin. If the phone does boot into download from twrp recovery I will try this one time with auto reboot and f. Reset time checked.. If it fails I will try it again with f. Reset time unchecked. I am currently not by my laptop to try this so it will have to be much later in the day.
To boot into download mode: Power off Note 4, hit all 3 of these at the same time until it wakes and vibrates - Power Button, Home Button and Volume Down
I know how to do that lol. I know I'm a junior member. But I'm somewhat intermediate. So cm12. 1 has booted.. However it didn't from a reboot of a flash.. I just took a while shot.. And powered the phone on.. And it booted.. I'm pretty sure in going to run into the problem again.
OK - Well you never know!
I am only a senior member 'cause I am older than Dirt!
Lol. I'm oldish. And trust me this lucky catch I got.. Is temporarily. There is still boot issues. I fear when the phone goes off or is turned off that it won't come on. I do not have a sim card in the phone at the moment which means I can download helpful apps. Like supersu. .. But so far I was able to check settings and get what I can prepared. Also if like to keep this thread open as a log or research tool.
Alright so I like the rom sit most the day.. With minimal to no use.. Most of the day it was fine.. At one point I took a picture and it did as it should.. I cleared all open tabs.. Took another picture and I got a error saying camera wasn't connected.. Finally the phone froze up and rebooted.. And the Camera worked.. Gave it another rest.. Came back to it checked the camera and it was fine.. I put it away for like 10mins then decided to check recording. When I did the phone was not responding to turning back on from sleep mode. Now for as long as I can remember even before this initial issue started.. I was having thr same problems with the phone not coming back on from when in sleep mode.. I dunno what the cause is or hoe to approach it to fix it.
First attempt was to put it to a charger... Registered no charge.. So I removed the battery.. Gave it a few mins.. Pushed down power button.. No response. Something is off with the boot menu.. Like the boot img. File
And finally it's back on.. Normal boot.. I didn't boot from download menu or recovery.. But in all honesty I'm 100% sure this will just happen again.. It seems to happen when I put the phone in the charger.. Then take it out and play with it.. For now in going to let it sit till the battery is in caution. Then charge it. I still have not added the Sim and loaded apps.. I feel that will be a overload of cpu and will most certainly freeze up and crash the phone
Ok, so up to date now.. Here's what's going on. The phone struggles to reboot from any on screen commands.. Like if I'm in Android.. And hold power.. Click reboot.. Then say like recovery.. Or anywhere.. It just turns off... If I also do this in twrp.. Say like install a rom or supersu.. It won't reboot... But! After it turns off.. And I wait a while and power it back on.. The file.. Rom etc was installed. So I do now have supersu installed and busybox. But the issue remains..which is a unstable OS.. Nothing to do with it being custom os.. But there is something wrong with the booting process.. What can I download if any apks.. Or files to help this?

Might be stupid I know, but try wiping clean your SD card (back up a copy on your pc first) as well when you factory wipe and make sure that after that, you only add the files you need for recovery. Start up the phone after reset. To get a backup, if you're synced through google, you'll get everything back. If not, only copy your backup from titanium back into your SD card.
I went through a very similar situation last week. Long story short, it seemed the SD card had copied files which would interfere with the system.
Curious, did it happen after marshmallow update?
And did you try to downgrade back to previous lollipop version?
I assume it was Marsh that I was trying to Ota too. I was unable to boot successfully after that first try, so I honestly don't know.. I'm going to try your SD card idea. .. But once all that's done. Are you wanting me to redo a full rom install like through and wipe system, Davik etc etx? Or like wipe everything and start from like odin installing a recovery and so forth?
I ask these questions because.. What if I was to just take the sd card. And format the whole thing.. And out it back into the phone? I mean I might try that first then the other option.

Well even if you format and you put the SD card back in with all previous files, same might happen.
When you format, just wipe all. Then if you want to downgrade, you need to have the previous version bootloader and baseband FIRST prior to putting the firmware ROM.
A simple (restore) wipe would just keep you at current version. And you can't easily downgrade the easy way from marsh to lollipop. Believe me, I learned the hard way
