Transferring Game data from SD card to HTC One - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, is there a way to be able transfer my game data from my older EVO 3D's sd card to my HTC One's internal storage. I had EA's Theme Park game installed on my EVO 3D & Tribes. Would like to have the game on on my One to how it was currently on my older device. I cant just move the data folder form the SD to the One right? I have not deleted any data from the SD card as of yet.
Thanks

[Q] How to move apps to sd card

Hey note owners
OK so recently i bought a 16 gig micro SD card to expand the space on my note and i finally got it today and so i got a couple games with big data up to 500 MB to 1 GB. so i was wondering how to move the games to the SD, i mean i know there is an option in settings to move to SD but it only moves the game file to SD, i want to move the SD data to it too.
i tried manually moving the SD data to the exact same folder it was in the internal storage to the SD but when i open the game it asks me to download the SD data
so how do i move like everything from the game to the SD data to the SD card
is there an app for it???
Do you tried "App2SD" (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&hl=de)
Yes I tried it does the same, I want to move the sd data to sd card too!

You seem to be doing better than me. I got my new 32gb SD today and I've tried moving apps to SD (with apps to SD app) and it just moves them to the internal SD rather than my 32gb one. I really don't understand why they designed it to work this way
Their must be a way to move apps and their data to the external SD

I always choose to install application in device, it has huge ROM 2gb, i think enough to hold app. At presently i have 170 user application + stock still 700mb used, because big data n library by default saves to internal memory card.
And internal memory card hav better read/write capacity thn ext memory card, so it wont causing lag in running application. Ext card useful for titanium backup storage, ebook collwction, music, video, pictures etc.

This is true but its a class 10 card so quite fast and it would be nice to have the option. Especially when apps are getting so much bigger, i just installed gta3 and that's 500+MB!

Have not tried this on note yet as its got plenty of space. But on galaxy ace I have 16 gb class 10 sd card. I have created ext 4 partition on the card using clockwork recovery. I use Link2Sd to transfer apps to the sd card. I guess Link2SD needs init.d script support.
ok I figured out with trial and error that you cannot move the app data cannot be moved out but its fine with the new sd card I just moved every thing media vise like music, videos and pictures to the memory card and now I got a bout 9 gig out of 11 gigs on the internal storage and 5 gigs out of 14 on the external card, so now since I added all my songs to my phone I only need my phone for music when I go out and not carry my iPod but any ways I hope you guys enjoy your phone as much as I do!

SD card slot or no SD card slot ?

Hello all- I am looking to switch back to Windows and am looking at the Nokia 820 and 920, obviously the 920 is higher end, etc... but the addition of the micro sd slot on the 820 is very enticing.
Is the addition of the micro sd card any advantage as far as being able to install .xap files or any other say homebrew type things (if even possible).
One other thing... I currently have a 32GB micro sd in my Galaxy S3 with lots of music, will I be good to go on inserting the micro sd in the 820 or will I have to reinstall all the music using Zune software ??
Thank you for any help !!!!
LL13- :victory: :victory:
You can only keep Music, Videos, Photos and (using a recent Beta Labs App from Nokia) Offline Maps on the SD Card. If you currently have regular MP3/AAC-files without DRM on the Card it should work without any changes.
You can not install Apps to the SD Card and Apps can not move their data to the SD Card. About 2.5 GB on the internal Memory are used by the OS + ~ 1 GB for temporary storage that can't really be deleted (the possibility to clean up additional temporary storage was included with a recent Firmware update for the 820).
So basically: if most of your data is Media you can use the SD Card for this but if you plan on installing a number of big Apps (e.g. Games like Modern Combat 4) I believe it would be better to take a phone with more internal storage.
Installing Apps from the SD Card can help to install big Apps if the internal storage is almost full as less temporary space is needed that way. Sideloading of Homebrew Software is currently not possible without an official Developer Unlock and even then I don't know of any Homebrew Apps that have been able to do more than what Marketplace Apps are able to.
Cheers for all that information Stevie...:good: :good:
It seems that the 920 will be the way to go then which definitely pleases me. 32GB internal memory should be more than enough, now the final decision.. which colour ???? LOL
Cheers mate, LL13-

external SD

I've recently picked up the xperia z and a 64gb mem card. I'm trying to load my music on my external SD but everytime I do it by album it only copies a small amount of data and makes the music unplayable due to the fact it'll play the first 2 seconds then skip... Any way around this?
Also is it possible to copy the data from games (Nova 3, GTA 3 etc to my external as I wanna keep the internal for apps only?
EDIT: Btw if it matters I'm on .423
Thanks!

No u cannot move apps-data to external (cause android 4.x.x not support app to sd-card)
about ur problem with music u can do this for troubleshooting;
test another sd-card
force stop app (from setting > apps > all)
clear cache
clear data
Format Sd-card (i recommend to do it with unix like ubuntu) (what is ur sd-card?)
:good:
Don't use album to transfer music. Go to settings...Xperia....USB connection mode.... Change it from MTP (media transfer protocol) to MSC (mass storage card). Accept all disclaimers that internal memory cannot be connected and so on. Connect to PC using USB cable. Open ext storage card in My Computer (in case auto open doesn't occur) and transfer any amount of music/video to card by copy/paste or drag & drop. Transfer speeds are faster in this mode, than in MTP...
Dead Cookies leave mo trails...
Or fastest method:
- pull out memory card, put it in card reader and Copy/Paste data from PC
gave up decided to format it into fat32 and works flawlessly with no drop in storage
@x102x96x
I meant the data the game downloads not the app itself I wanna use my external as the storage but last time I used the mod but it screwed up my systemui so I ditched it.

I hope you formatted it within Xperia with it's own format tool from Settings It is highly recommended to do that.

Again i should say NO
the game app will search for its data and if u move them to external it won't find them and try to download again and all ur personal data in the game will lose
> u cannot force game app to read from external memory for data unless have root access or use custom ROM

[Q] _ Moving installed apps to SD Card, how ?

Searched the forum and did not see anything directly for Nook HD/+ or CM so im here...
I would like to move some programs (more so games) to a SD Card and just pop the card in when i want to play the games.
Is this possible ?
Would this work for "fast paced" graphic games like race car games (reading off SD card) ?
Could i use symlinks form the games org install location and point them to the SD Card ?
_
I wouldn't mind knowing about this either, I have titanium backups which usually has an option to move things to SD and there isn't any option for the Nook.
About the question for racing games, I doubt there would be any issue as I've had all my games installed to SD on my old Evo 3D and I never noticed a degradation in game play. Perhaps slightly longer load times, but I can't say I noticed any.

I use GL to SD to move game data to the SD card, and it works for most games just fine. I have a 32GB Sandisk Ultra, and I am running CM 10.2.

Will there be a 6.0 update?

What does everyone think the chances of getting official 6.0/Marshmallow on the Amazon Fire tablet (2015)?
I know its one of the cheapest budget tablets available and so dont have big expectations. But the main reason I would be interested in 6.0 is the new sd card feature, where you would be able to properly make use of a large micro sd card, as the built-in 8GB (or whats actually available) will get filled up pretty easily.
Well it may get Amazon's version of it eventually, but Amazon's rom does let you move a lot to the SD card anyway. Under 5.1.1 there are options for
Install Supported Apps on your sd card
Download Movies and TV shows to your sd card
Download music to your sd card
Store photos and personal videos on your sd card
Mind you not sure which count as "supported apps"

Is there a way to move large games to your SD card? They always install to the Android/obb file location on the internal and not the Android/obb on the SD card.
I've been wondering the same thing too. I've moved the game to sd card but it's data in obb has to be on internal or it can't see it.

Exactly, games like GTA: San Andreas is 2 or more gigs so that knocks a huge portion out of the internal not to mention the system seems like it runs slower the more data is saved to the internal.

If you're rooted et al, install xposed and use the module "obb to sd". I do, it works perfectly. Nothing like moving Hearthstone to the sd to free up space.

On SlimLP I have this app running https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.co.pricealert.apps2sd. It works perfectly. I have a 64GB SD and a 32GB ext4 partition for apps. The other 32GB is in exfat for general files and such forth.
