[Q]Cannot get to work ADB SHELL! :(

I installed Java DK after prompted by Android SDK that i dont have Java DK install..
Still Android SDK Setup asking me to install JDK!!
im so frustrated! wasted 3 hours for adb shell to work, still not getting it to work
cannot deodex my fw
Help? i dont want to waste another 3 hours

I assume by "Android setup" that you are running Windows? Have you downloaded the correct version of the JDK? If you are on Windows 7 64bit then you need a 64bit JDK.

follow this buddy for how to use adb

and use xultimate 2.2.3 for deodexing

You seem to have problem with your android SDK setup.
Follow this XDA guide on ADB WORKSHOP and GUIDE. Hope this will help.

When i did with root explorer, it says not enough space!!
deodexed files are more size than original files..
only 12.53mb available and its not possible to replace all files in System/apps folder
im screwed half way in deodexing Had to re-flash firmware twice
whats the problem now? please help!! irritated by android

Do not copy all files at once, copy 5 at a time.

i was doing that only. now only 336KB left. cant copy large Gallery 3D file which is of 1mb+ any solutions?

delete the useless files such as memo,route 66 and dont forget to delete the .odex files!!

I removed .odex files and guess what now!! Error of force close process.media every second!! Re-flashing for 4th time in the day!

The same with me as well i guess we'll have to wait for rex's rom or hope for someone to upload a rom that is deodexed

Which deodexed rom are you looking for? Am planning to post a thread on this with minimal system/app files from xxkb3 which are necessary with minor tweaks. But biggest issue is no recovery for flashing.

right now i'm on xxkb3 just provide a proper method do i have to copy the deodexed files on my internal or external sd...coz when i try to copy the files to internal sd it say insert new disk and try again

You can copy the deodexed app and framework to internal or external sd. Both should work.

how did you do it coz when i enter
cp /sdcard/done_app/* /system/app
or
cp /sdcard/done_frame /system/framework
i get an error no such file or directory

If you placed the folder on external_sd change the path as
cp /sdcard/external_sd/done_app/* /system/app
Same for framework too.

Problem with ota 4.1

I recently flashed jbv3ota4.1.zip....but whenever i open ota updater it says "unsupported rom and contact custom rom provider for updates" and than force closes....please guide me through this....waiting for a positive response.....thanx

ota 4.1 is itself the update for the rom

Than why is it force closing whenever I open it....I even rebooted my phone but FCing is still a problem

dude flashing ota 4.1 will not make ota updater to work in the rom......instead the ota 4.1 is itself a minor update for some apps and framework.....so just mount system and flash ota 4.1.....

dude in cwm there is mount menu and just mount system in that and go back and flash the rom

Because OTA Updater will FC even after that
To check if it worked
Go to settings>about phone>keep clicking on 4.1
If you see Jelly Bean
It worked
If gingerbread

It is showing jelly bean when I go in settings>and keep clicking android 4.1.1......I just need to inquire why it is frequently force closing when I open it.....got the answers thank u....

[SOLVED]SU binaries

I'm on xperiatized ics and rooted. However if I go into root explorer, I can't change from ro to rw. Anything which requires root will say superuser has denied it or it hasn't obtain root access yet. Can anyone help?

Hi jumper62!
You could try updating super user app or installing new binary from superuser/ info.
Also, you could try Superuser Update Fixer (free aplication from the market)
Just in case, perhaps you could try installing yor ROM again.

Flash any superuser package meant for arm like universal gb root
And then optional steps are below
Install supersu from market then open it
It will ask to update su binary just do it and you would be good to go

why it gives me access deniend and it do not recognize rom???

may be because you didn't gave it root permission..
or may be because you do not have enough free memory in system..
give a little more info like which rom you are using..
and you should have asked this question in the thread of this script..(i see u don't have 10 posts)
or at least ask in q & a section..

[CM] Cyanogenmod SU Upgrade

Helllo. I started this thread because of a common error in cyanogenmod rom. Did you install a root app using cm rom but, like Titanium Backup, it said something like "the app won't work properly with your su binary"? Well, I build a CM Rom using the latest SuperSU binary, app (1.86) and busybox version with it.

If you found this thread & rom usefull reply me to know if I may continue with this CM version.

Although your work and effort I'm sure don't go unappreciated I'm just positive your approach was wrong. Take no offense from my post, more so advice. I would never flash this on my device nor do I think anyone else should. Not to say that it's bad but there's a guideline for posting ROMs, you can see it above or below your thread. I'm just saying wouldn't you be a little weary of flashing this if I threw it up like that. Not trying to run you off, just trying to offer some advice.

So instead of flashing above package one can simply install super su from play store and update binaries!!

Try to update binaries but it will give an error every time. I tell you because I tried with every CM updates but it always give an error. Despite of giving root perms.

Dude at least if you packed or compiled the cm rom please state [RoM] in op heading. ...
At least please fallow some min structure of op in development section....
Who knows someone may try it....
