People considering to buy this phone please read - LG Optimus 4X HD

People if you are considering to buy a lg optimus 4x hd and came here to read whats bad or good about it please DONT
Yes this is because most people coming here are to complain ( speaking from my experience) so you will get demotivated a lot even though this phone is great ( once again in my opinion)
Even though our camera is not the best nor is out optimus UI despite those small things its a great phone for a very good price

I agree you cm camera is actually not so bad in good light (low light it sucks as much as the normal). Optimus UI is just a matter of taste I like it. For now it has one of the best performance/price relation I think. Maybe its not the bestto play hardcore games as it gets hotbut with underclocking your cpu and play games its very good.I thinkthe simple mobile games are way better than the FPS. just my opinion

LOL, in at lot of places in UK the S2 actually costs more than the S3!!! Thought this was gonna be another complaining thread but its not! Not sure its necessary though, people can read and make up their own mind

Arent Nexi budget phones? In all other places where there is no Google Play, they are expensive and when everybody and their mom suggests getting one, it gets annoying really fast.
Here is the thing with Nexus phones. The only good thing about them is Google updates. Stock android experience and so on are all covered by custom roms.
And as for this thread. If you have money, dont bother with the 4X HD. There are better phones out there with better stock roms and quality I believe.

O4X was my first android phone. And i love it.
But i spent to much time waiting on JB on unlock bootloader on rom, everything... so i sell it =(
I changed for SG3 - and those two can not be compared. On SG3 battery for me stands for full 2 days! on OX4 max 12h. Camera is much much better on SG3 - and those are most important things for me on phone.
O4X is cheap nice hardware... but bad support bad battery ( strange wakelocks) is downsides.
And yes... dust under screen... i hated so much LG about that!
Also using this opportunity to say bye to all O4X lovers and community. Se ya i another thread

My Galaxy S3 Battery Life Sucks Please Help! 15% After Only 7 Hours > from sg3 user, so many trolls on the net, Im happy with my o4x and happy I didnt pay twice as much for a phone just to play a couple of games better, now there is unlocked bootloader wonder why such animosity or is it jealousy !

I never sell my phones. I have a ton of it (including Nokia 1610 from 1996). I've made mistake with Optimus 4X HD, but it's my fault. In the other hand, we don't have Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie or decent phones with powerful chips (Tegra 4, Snapdragon 800), so I will wait for next flagship. My first Android is still working, HTC Hero from 2009 summer.

After nvidias fail with tegra 2&3, you would really risk tegra 4? I accidently left my phone locked to single core only yesterday, and was playing a few heavy games. There was barely any difference. The CPU is insanely powerful, but the GPU is a total POS

nVidias fail with Tegra 2 and 3? The support from manufacturers wasn't exactly massive but they were great chips.
I'd say the Optimus 2x had better performance when it was running a custom ROM, I ran Nova HD ROM it was overclockable and ran really well.
I havent taken the plunge with my 4X rooting and custom ROMs yet, I'm waiting for the warranty to run out first!!

Well in terms of general use and multitasking the quad core is incredible, but considering I just bought a cheap dual core powervr 531 tablet and it runs some games better there's deffo something wrong. I do believe however that game devs are partly to blame, but its enough to make me steer clear
Sent from my rooted P880

Hey guys... Just wondering how is the call quality with your phone?... Do you get drop outs?... Is the signal reception good and consistent? Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app

I don't make many calls with my phone, but so far the call quality has been fine.

Seriously, I gotta hand it to people who buy quad core phones for games because phones are the worst possible medium where you would want to play a game. If you wanna play games, go get a tablet or a desktop PC with reasonable cooling. A decent PC that can run EVERY phone game costs around 450 euro. Thats cheaper than a Note2 and litterally every 2013 high priced phone.
The reason why this phone cant play games as "Smooth" as you people would want is because of throttling and bad optimization. The heat that is generated while playing a game is ridiculous and the CPU+GPU overheat because there is no cooling happeing there.
The only, and I mean, the only reason why the S3 runs cooler is because of better throttling, not because it has "Efficient" internals.
There are many devices out there that do the "Gamiing" part better but you would be paying 80- 100 Euros more for just getting a "Better" phone for gaming.
When somebody comes around says "Oh, the S3 is so much better"and LG has dust underscreen. May I remind you that the S3 up until January this year had a brickbug +restarting bug and the restarting bug has NOT been fixed. The brickbug was a internal memory error. The restarting bug seems to happen at random with people with the "Insane" chip. I was in a dilemma when I bought this phone. Do I wanna risk buying an S3 and after 6 months it could become useless? I said no.
If you are happy to invest +350 to +400 euro for a phone just because you find the beauty problems of this phone bad then for "Insert your favorite vendor"s sake do so.
I am happy to have a functional phone that when compared with the price of other phones, just blows them out of the water. Phones like the
S2, Sony Xperia S,T,SP, Optimus G, Nexus 4(It costs around 400 euro where I live, compared to 280 euro with this phone.) and so on and so forth.
Hey, I challenge anybody to offer an alternative to this phone with a price range of :
300-350 euro
4.7 Coll HD or FULL HD IPS screen
Removable battery
MicroSD slot
16GB internal storage
The only alternative is the Huawei G615 but that thing is 4.5 coll, has only 8 GB internal storage and does not seem to have CM support.

[Q] Buy new phone. LG optimus 2x?

Hi
I have a motorola milestone smartphone. Now i have an opportunity that have a second new phone. I check the smartphone market and i decided the lg optimus 2x have the best buy/value rate.
What i need:
big screen (milestone hw keyboard will be missed but a big screen will help me out)
fast cpu and gpu (i see some test, some case lg beat even the overhyped sgs2)
solid rock TFT what is usefull in sunlight
elegant clean design
sgs2 is not an option, its too expensive and overhyped. buy/value rate is terrible. sgs2 almost cost like an iphone and a little better than O2X. its not woth it.
iphone is not an option because...i better dont say anything
i see some blog and post that optimus 2x software is not too good, but in here i found many more good custom rom, so i reflash the phone anyway, and the official gb rom is coming out any moment anyway. (my milestone also run a CM7 based rom, i almost never use the stock)...
...so the software gliches is not interested me.
based on the hardware and the design i think lg optimus 2x is worth the money.
so im right and lg optimus 2x is worth it, a good descendant for my milestone?
As you want it for CM, I would say it's worth it.
Unless you love FM radio & A2SP, then you're screwed
Muhahahaha
Edit: that was on behalf of LG developers

i dont like the sgs2, i hesitate between the o2x and desire s, but o2x is not just faster but much more elegant.
sgs2 too much overhyped and expensive, and i have negative experience with the company other products too, so i not buy sgs2, not even if sgs2 will the last android phone on earth
The Desire S is basically just a smaller Desire HD
For me optimus 2x was the worst buy ever. After 2 units I've bough SGS2.
I understand that for some people it can be expensive, but there is more phones better than O2X at the almost same price.
Take a look at Galaxy R I9103.

Here in Sweden it costs 399 euro.
If you like Tegra 2, it will be perfect phone for you. Anyway my advice is stay away from O2X.

It's interesting how opinions are split. Those who had "problem" devices swear they'll never buy LG again. Those who've had no problems, or their problems went away after flashing a firmware update/CM/modaco rom etc. seem to be quite happy.
When I decided to buy my o2x it was on Amazon with a significant price cut, cheaper than basically any similar specced phone. I received a lemon which has now gone for repair. I don't know what your odds of getting a good, working device are if you buy this phone.
considering all the comments i still think that o2x is a good choice.
Hello. until the past week i was very satisfied by the O2x and i have stock room and works fine for me. The worst what happened to me is that my usb conection with pc don't work anymore. Works only the carging of battery. Don't advice you buy this phone or other from LG. what is cheap is bad.
I have to say that this phone I bought from LG recently was a good buy option. I have looked at the other options out there. If you're looking for Dual Core, there are better specs yes, but then again, the software which is out there hasn't yet utilized the dual core technology. Bang for buck, the optimus 2x is a good buy and this coming from a guy who is sticking to a stock rom and resisting the temptation to go over to CM7.
I had this phone for 2 days, I skipped the lg rom completely and installed cm7 directly
I think its a bargain for the price, problem is that the support is pretty ridiculous from both lg and nvidia not updating / releasing the code.
It could be a beast if well supported, for example Nvidia showed a prototype in February with Skype HD video calling thanks to 1080p video decoding in hardware, have you seen that released ? No, skype doesn't even support standard video calling because tegra 2 doesn't support the "skype technology" (NEON).
It's useless for companies to show off what they can do bla bla bla... if they never implement stuff!
A revolution could arrive in ICS if Google decides to use Tegra 2 as the standard hardware

Thoughts on 2X and your next phone?

The phones over a year old now. I only picked mine up used almost half a year ago for 200 USD. The phone's price really plummeted in just over half a year didn't it? Even now it hasn't dropped further as it hit its rock bottom way back then. High end phones that are older and with less specs cost the same as this as its really unpopular. An example being the Galaxy S.
So in a way its a pretty unsuccessful phone. Reasons? Software support has been terrible, suffering from radio issues. The stock firmware was appalling for a long time. Then the announcement ICS wasn't coming which soon after you saw the price hitting rock bottom. Leading to LG to counter its previous comment and proceed with ICS. Which it probably had no plans to before the backlash. Since the update was due rather late and has since been delayed a quarter.
Hardware wise its not bad. But still outdone by S2's larger screen, double ram and better camera.
All said i'm extremely happy with my first Android especially considering what I paid. But only with the developer support providing the best solutions. If I were a stock user i'd be sorely disappointed, only feeling better for the price.
In terms of my next phone, I want a larger screen 4.7ish but not pocket busting like the note. A better camera but equal to 2X is fine. More RAM because Opera Mobile keeps shutting down when I multitask out for a second, even with an extra 48mb ram hack. Amoled would be nice but not necessary, mainly for its benefits if its sunlight legibility is good. HD is unnecessary in my opinion.
As it stands I probably won't be upgrading for awhile until the likes of the S3 gets cheap. Except its design looks unprofessional. Optimus 4X anyone? :-D They couldn't make the same mistakes again right? Right?

I will only be upgrading to nexus devices from now on, because of this phone has made me realise I hate manufacturer skins and that I want the latest updates all the time.

some people arent that rich to change expensive phones every 12 months.
My next device will be WITH a good battery, a SD card slot (dumb htc with their one series..almost made them perfect), a good camera (likes of SGS3 or more likely htc one x), and an ARM cortex-a15 based cpu (or krait). and quite importantly, a wolfson micro sound chip (also supported by supercurio ) i dont want screens as large as 4,7 inches though
oh, and i hope it will be a nexus...i want good updates... fuuuu LG
this would be a freaking dream phone. but i aint buying anything until the 2x gives up on me, i still really like it
So far i had 2 android phones with the optimus being my second one. I have noticed that all those "specs" do not matter. What matters is a good software. Therefore i would move to a nexus devices when my optimus gets completely destroyed or really useless. No need to keep throwing money on phones if they cannot completely replace my laptop.
I will go for a SGS2 or 3 or a Nexus.
Hopefully soon. Tired of all the probs with my LGOS
currently, my o2x running temasek kang, it give me what i want to do
still waiting for the stable cm9, then will use it about a year
my next phone maybe the galaxy s4
I think I'm buying a S3 or nexus. And what Arkara said, I agree that specs don't matter as much as the software support.
Seeing as the S2 a friend of my has, still running stock since launch and no factory resets: Smooth as hell, fast and long battery. Galaxy Nexus is also stable.
Maybe my phone has a bad chip or something like that but the FD issues are to much and the battery life is overall the same for me no matter the BB or RIL. No more Tegra for me.

Nexus seems like the popular choice among us. I think specs matter still otherwise you wouldn't be after a high end phone. I personally have grown accustomed to CM's flexibility and features so i'm not really after software support. Except as we know in our 2X case it lacks drivers for us to update to.
Of course a stable good software release is important, afterall custom ROM users are a minor aspect in comparison to sales. But in the S3's case Samsung are trying to differentiate and add value through the software extras. That's great for most but if your not using it you're paying for nothing.
At least the idea behind the S2 was hardware and just the right software to make it run. This time around Samsung are making moves inspired by their biggest rival in their eyes, Apple. They like to poke fun and criticise Apple but they would prefer nothing more than to be them. The design, the marketing and the software are all in their footsteps.
What do 2X users here think of the iPhone anyway? I think it's like our polar opposite in the high end. The super expensive overrated and over hyped hardware with good closed software popular phone compared to the piss cheap higher spec phone with miserable software and success.

Well, they sure as hell have a long way to go as far as design goes. Pretty much all android phones do. They are butt ugly. The Optimus 2x is actually one of the prettier ones imo! The Galaxy S2 for instance is a design disaster.
I'm not a fan of the iOS, though. When I use it, on my Ipod Touch, I get the feeling that I am being treated like an idiot.
I will have a close look at the ASUS Padfone.
If it only had a 720p screen, I would have bought it.
When the Rumors about 5 new Nexus devices for Jelly Bean come true I hope ASUS makes one of the phones. I love their build quality and design. They also are the fastest when it comes to updates and patches.
I also think that the Optimus 2X is among the prettiest phones. This was the reason I picked it instead of the Galaxy SII (the price was similar at launch).
With CM7.2 UNOFFICIAL (I also use temaseks build) the phone is very good and I get a good battery life lately since I turn my phone off and back on right aufter I unplug it from the charger in the mornings. The only thing I don't like is the Battery life when I use it a lot for webbrowsing and games.
My next Phone will have a 720p display, a bigger battery and more RAM.
SD Card slot, swappable battery are things I would very much miss if they were not available on my next phone. Optimus 4X maybe, Huawei D Quad maybe, Jelly Bean Nexus possibly or the Padfone?
I´m tired of the 2x....
...because of the politics from LG.
The stects of that phone were really good, but as it was said before: Good software ist more worth than good hardware.
I think my next Phone will be the next SGS or a Nexus.
What i need:
SD-Card
huge RAM
720p Display
LTE
NFC
good Cam

Question before buying

Hi!
I just sold my LG P920 and thinking of buying LG 4X HD - is it worth to buy or not
Please for honest answers.
Thank you!
An honest answer = The phone is awesome. The Dev support = almost NIHIL.
I'm also considering this phone for purchase. I sold my HOX, because of the bad battery life, the protruding camera bulge and for the mediocre imgage/video quality. Now I have the possibility of buying this phone new/unopened for 290 euros which is actually a pretty sweet deal. It has its advantages over the HOX, like expendable storage, higher-capacity removable battery, louder speaker, better camera and some other stuff which you can all find at gsmarena's review. I like the square/monolithic design a lot over the more oval design language of both SGIII and HOX and that is a decisive factor for me.
Keep in mind, also, that it shares pretty much the same internals with the HOX and therefore, most of the third party stuff (apps/games) will be compatible with the Optimus 4X also. XDA developper support is kinda low for now, but there are already a handful of improving mods lying around, there is an easy "rooting" method available and most recently, a prominent developper of the Eternity Series of Kernels/mods has pledged his support in unlocking this phone's bootloader, after a bounty was posted with wich he managed to buy an LG Optimus 4X HD. So things might get better in the near future. Plus, there is always the eventuality of LG releasing a Jelly-Bean upgrade for the device, albeit with some delay, like is the case for the ICS upgrade on the LG Optimus 2X.
for the price i paid, its like a super phone. it was the cheapest quad core out there. but i knew what expect from LG; no support. We dont even know until know if we are getting JB, and everyone i getting theres. Anyway i knew this before i purchase it.
Battery is the same as every smartphon out there. 1 day and its over. camera is also bad, ever worse thatn HOX i guess.
4x was announced in brazil 2 weeks ago, so i think the interest on this phone will rise as there are ****ries that just announced this phone.

Thanks a lot for yours opinion. Probably I will buy this phone, I use to play a lot with custom ROM on my LG P920, but this one has lock bootloader - but as I heard not so much problem because of smoth ICS on this one.
Hopefully LG will relase JB on this one...Not like ICS for P920...

GSMARENA did a comparison review, between all quad-core smartphones, and they proclaimed the LG Optimus 4X HD a capable shooter, with good color accuracy, low nose and smooth videos. Overall they awarded it 2nd place in the camera department right after the first, SGIII. For my part and for all the buzz surrounding the imaging capabilities of the HOX, I was mighty dissapointed for the time I owned it. The Optimus 4X HD, for the most part, seems to be doing better in that department.

lol, you meant to write countries and it was filtered out...
Don't forget that the N4 is also waiting for release in many countries. It has even better specs and is a nexus device, so unlocked bootloader from the beginning and no waiting for upgrades from LG. And it's nearly the same price. Because of that I doubt that developer attention will rise a lot. Maybe if we get an unlocked bootloader, some ROMs will be created, but it will surely stay low.

Best damn reply i have ever read lol. Well said.
In all honesty, the 4X HD is a beast compared to other phones at the same price point. And easily beats the competition in its category. If you don't mind the slow development, this is the phone to get hands down. But, just like what Feregorn said things will get better once the bootloader is unlocked.
muellersmattes said:
lol, you meant to write countries and it was filtered out...

The Optimus 4X HD, for the most part, seems to be doing better in that department.

yes i readed this gsm article multiple times, i dont know how they got that very focused images, but you will see here that many people complain about camera quality, including me. We have autofocus issues, not bad during daylight , but night photos are just horrible, but you can try using the mod they have developed for better night fotos.
there is some updates coming out with improved picture quality, so this issue might be solved someday too.
I don't know my camera in this phone has been very good actually. Taking a lot of pictures and it is doing a pretty ok job. I actually not regretting in trading for this phone sold my s3 and hox and got this one for an awesome price. And also the screen is pretty good doesn't has that checkerboard problem the Samsung phones have and no burn in. Battery is by far better then the hox. And stock software is pretty ok in this phone too.

[Q] So... all things considered... would you recommend your phone?

Hi everyone,
I've got a burning question.
i'm curently the owner of a LG optimus 2x and my experiences with that phone are not that great. Only recently my phone started to work rather well due to a good custom rom based on a stock ics build. (Thanks a bunch Carburano!!)
My contract will expire soon, so I will be in the market for a new phone in about a month and I am seriously considering the optimus 4x HD, although many optimus 2x users would consider me a fool becaulse of those 2 letters on the front bezel...
If I have read well, there are currently no custom Roms available, but is that a miss with this phone?
So basically... would you, as owners, recommend your phone?
Thank you so much for your wisdom!

As there are already some threads on this topic, I recommend you to do a bit research in them. But in brief, I can tell you the following: The stock rom runs really well. Custom Roms might be availible at some time (there's a Sense port in "no phone" state). If you want a phone with removable battery and/or SD card slot, or you're looking for a Tegra phone for gaming, go for the 4X. If you don't need those, have a look at the N4 (if ou can get one), there's most development.
Whoops!

Sorry for posting something that's already been posted... I read quite a bit already and didn't find topics on this, but I'll try to look better next time.
I also have an O2X and I just bought a month ago the 4X... you`ll never regret such a change. Its an improvement in every field and youll feel confortable with it since the very first moment.
I`d recomend you the chanche

try nexus 4 or wait
Go for nexus 4 or Wait for tegra 4 phones. Those will be in february.
I'd recommend this phone if you don't need custom roms (because they may never be available, even if progress was made). It's an excellent phone, slim, powerful, with some enjoyable LG modifications. The microSD port and removable battery is a big plus.
As Shuny says, great phone, incredible screen quality ( even better than IP4S and SGS3 ) , powerful . If you want a STOCK ROM , its your phone. But , as people said, Nexus 4 or Tegra4 devices are coming.
regards.
( sorry for poor english , im brazilian )
My only gripe about this phone is the camera and heat... I haven't really tested out other quadcore phone so i don't know if they heat up easily or not, I only tested their camera and it was good.. SGS3 and SGN2....
Anyhow, MWC is around the corner so wait around for a bit and widen your choices...

Yah if budget is your concern, then you can't really beat the value you're getting with the 4x. If not, I'd wait for the new line up of phones coming up from Sony. The new Xperia Z and ZL are too sexy.

I have a Galaxy S 3 and I'm seeling it to get me an Optimus 4X... some people might think I'm crazy hahaha...
I really don't like the S3... the shape, the software... the S2 was nice, but the S3, not so much... at least for me anyway...
I don't do much gaming, and I really love the form factor of the 4X... the software also seems a lot more responsive than the S3...

I sold my s3 and hox and got the 4x. Well I got more money for the s3 then I paid for the 4x and same applies for the hox as well and I don't regret it. The screen in the 4x is better then the s3 no burn in or checkerboard issues like the s3 screen has. Battery in the 4x is superior to the hox and also removable battery and memory card is a big benefit that the hox don't have. The camera is the weakest on the 4x but there are ways to fix that even without root. And the 4x is faster then the hox. The tegra 3 on the 4x is better optimized. Anyway the 4x is a totally fine quard core monster. And also u can use a normal mhl cable instead buying a special one that works with the s3. So there is more benefit on having the 4x then non benefit.

Im living in Brazil . Isnt a cheap phone here, about R$ 1799,00 ( about USD$900 in a conversion ) , i think MWC brings us some new phones, like Sony Z , Nexus 4 , and many others with 2GB + quadcore in this price range.
But, I choose LG P880 vs IP4S and SGS3 , not for price, but incredible screen and performance, IMHO , better than S3 and IP.
My opinion : BUY IT !
Regards.

Exactly what I think...
I'm going to sell my S3, get me a 4X and even save some money...
The 4X has everything I need... the S3 is a great phone, but it looks extremely fragile... and the home button, boy I really hate that... I was a previous owner of a Galaxy Nexus and the soft buttons are a lot better than physical buttons...
And I really think Jelly Bean and a new kernel can fix most issues the 4X has with games...

I know it , but 3 months ago, when i purchased the phone, i pay R$1799, its cheaper now, i know, but , also you know , we suffer with taxes here. In EUA and Europe , this guy can be purchased by US$ 350 - 400. So , lets return and focus ... This smartphone is a great choice.
Wow, thanks everyone! That was really all I needed to hear. I really want a removable battery and a sd card slot... so my options were limited to the O4x or the sgs3... an I really prefer the looks of the O4X and the screen.... it was just the brand that concerned me... having to wait over a year for ICS on my O2X from the announcement to a crappy release... made me worry!
You guys helped out a lot! I think I will permanently join you in about a month!
And lets hope there will be some custom roms to play with in the future!
Thanks!

[Q] Is it still worth it to buy this device in 2013?

Hello Guys i want a new high end budget device. And i want to ask you guys if it is worth it to buy this device in 2013?
Is the battery life oke? Can this phone hold this phone a whole day on light usage? i don't have much money left and my old HTC desire s broke yesterday. So do you recommend this phone guys

Yes, if the price is right. I brought this phone about 5 months ago when it was about $100 (nzd) less than the s3. If you could get an s3 for the same price, id probably go for the s3, yet id have this device over the htc one x even if they were the same price.
Battery is acceptable, people complain about it alot but if it was 20% better people would still complain about it. If you find the right rom (or) stock it can run around 4 hrs screen on time. Which again is acceptable. Development has got suprizingly strong on this device if that is an influential factor for you (it is for me)
Conclusion: If the price is right
It's still one of the cheapest quad-core devices around. Personally I bought a second one because of that, for you can't get higher performance for the same price atm. Nexus 4 still costs 100€ more. But if you're not in a hurry you might as well save some money and wait for the next Nexus device (if you like phone with screen size >5").

I recognise you from the Desire S forum
I haven't regretted once that I got this phone (it's on contract, but is costing me £10.50 less per month than the other quad-core phones would have done.
Upgrade to JB - easy
Root - easy
Unlock bootloader - easy if you read
Install recovery - easy
Install custom ROM - easy
I've still got my old DS running Reaper v4 as I use that for lending out to people, but the 4X looks good, feels good and runs just fine.

haha nice! I am going to get mine optimus 4x next week. A good friend of my lend me his old samsung galaxy s for this weekend. i've just looked in every website and compared all the cheapest high/mid end phones. 4x was my best solution for now.
Definitely get it. I love my 4X and would recommend it to anyone, so long as you don't need OTG. I found out the hard way that my phone doesn't support it, but it's no deal breaker for me. I installed a custom ROM, and it's actually quite easy to do.

It's totally worth the money, however when my upgrade was due i could choose between this and the Samsung Galaxy S3, but the S3 was an 18month Contract and the 4x HD only 12months, so i can refresh my device after a year, and at £20 a month, 3000minutes, unlim texts and unlim data, this phone is definitely cost effecive, It hasn't depreciated at all, i got this phone about 2weeks ago and i love it so far, stock Rom is great, however multiRom allows me to have both Stock and AOSP! I'd choose this over the HTC One X, and the S3, i think my next device will be the Ubuntu Edge if it's applicable!
My device History: HTC Hero>Samsung Galaxy Mini>HTC Desire C, Samsung Galaxy W> Now i have Desire C, SGW, and 4x HD Tab: Nexus7
I would have bought the nexus 4 or optimus g instead...
It's definitely worth buying. I got mine 2 months ago and am very satisfied. I was first a bit annoyed about the battery and heating, but with a custom rom it's a way better. Development is now going with lightspeed, it's probably the cheapest quad-core phone at the moment and it gives a great performance thanks to Tegra 3.

Compare the price between 4x HD and Nexus 4. If Nexus 4 doesn't cost more than 20% than 4x HD. I prefer to have Nexus 4 instead.
I am owning 4X HD and my sister has Nexus 4.
Nexus 4 has a better build on everything. It has much better hand feeling, better CPU, it has 2G of RAM, less heat, seems better battery life + you will always get the latest Android version from google. The only thing I don't like is it's onscreen button that actually make your viewable screen size smaller on most of the apps.
To be honest, 4x HD is not outdated yet, but 2G of RAM + Snapdragon s4 CPU really beats 4x HD up a lot. If it is possible, try it with your own hand, open up some web pages with chrome, you will know the differences.
Please dun get it wrong. I still love my 4x HD, it is still the best price/performance phone now. Just if your money is not that tight get a Nexus 4 will be better.
Thanks
Mike
