Hi,
Me and a couple of friends building a ROM now.
We want everything in the ROM to be small and it will look like the resolution is high, like in the SlimRom.
How can we do it?
Thanks everybody!
The resolution in slim isn't higher. The dpi is set to 182 instead of 240. Go into build.prop and change the value of ro.sf.lcd.density.
God no.

Thanks, i was impressed by slimbean layout. Even i thought it has something to do with screen resolution. Silly me Your solution has solved my problem :victory:
If I were to create a 1280x800 wallpaper in photoshop for example, what would be the best dpi to use? 285?
Galaxy Note / CyanogenMod 9

I'm not sure I fully understand the question, but wallpapers will always be displayed in full, no matter what dpi setting you use.
If you're needing the DPI value for a photo shop setting, then 285 is the notes optimum capability, but 320 and 240 are arguably more popular.

@yacky: stop tormenting the poor guy lol.
@vishal: No u can do nothing, its called improving pixel density, this is hardware issue and u cannot do this. Only solution is to buy a new phone.
I can understand that. I was disapointed too (at that time i was a complete noob when i bought mini - 1st smatphone) But thnx to xda its
better now.
Well you can! Not so as you want but will surely make you minis screen virtually bigger
Just install LCD Resolution OR LCD Density.
Both apps tweak the density of the screen.
So run any app(LCD Resolution recommended), and just lower density to 110. Simple.
*some apps may crash.

It is depending on Hardware so just buy a Samsung Galaxy S 2 for S2 type graphics................:good::laugh::silly::victory::silly::laugh::good::highfive::angel::crying::fingers-crossed::cyclops:
What are we still talking about? You can't do anything and that's it.

Dose it work on my galaxy S1 i9000 with resolution 400*800 (~233 ppi pixel density)

yes
galaxy s1 i9000 is 480*800
can you make this for the nexus 9?
@EnricoD
Hey - can any early receiver check the build.prop and let us know what the stock lcd_density is set to? I'm expecting 640 but it would be a nice surprise if Samsung followed the Nexus 6 and set it to 560 stock to increase the information density.
At 560 I may not need root, at 640 I will.
TIA
From some pictures I have seen, It looks like the lcd-density is lower this time! I can't confirm though
Update:
It is 560 Dpi according to arter97. At last, Samsung opened their eyes:laugh:

Thanks man - great news
My build.prop contains 2 lines "ro.sf.lcd_density". One with 560 and one with 480. So I'm confused, but definitely - not 640, and that is great news indeed.
