Hello everyone,
Since Enomther's ROM thread is closed I would like to ask you a question about this beautiful ROM.
Since yesterday I'm receiving update system notification ( I own a Nexus One, so I suppose is Gingerbread update via OTA )
Well, this shouldn't happen, isn't it? I noticed that I have FOTA killer, so that should do the job, but still I'm receiving update system notifications...
Has anyone the same problem? Is there a way to disable the system update notifications?
I just flashed again the FOTAKiller-signed.zip in order to disable them, but I'm still receiving notifications...
Help please
You can disable it by updating your build.prop
Hi,
Also getting the OTA 2.3.4 update notification.
I am running Enomther 2.14.4 and have applied a patch to remove the OTA notification of the previous 2.3.3 update.
How to remove the 2.3.4 OTA notification?
please could you download it while running logcat and let the installation fail in recovery before disabling it? people are looking for the link to the OTA
FOTAKill.zip and then attempt to install the update. It'll reboot to custom recovery and stay there. Just don't do anything with it, reboot back, and the update notification should be gone.
Not to hijack. I am running cm6 and upgrade my h-boot. When I restarted the phone it ask me to update to gingerbread 2.3.3. However u still like running cm6. But it keeps asking me to update. I still not clear how to get rid of this message. Any suggeston?

I am having the same issue and have tried the above solution. I have also allowed the installation to fail and restart. The OTA update notification still comes back. Any solutions?
Thanks!
Make sure that fotakill is installed to internal memory. If it is installed on the sdcard, it probably won't work.

Odd, I installed it, removed the update in /cache, rebooted, haven't seen the notification since.
Any way to revert to the google talk app from google hangout in 4.3?

Deleted hangout with root and installed gtalk. Worked like a charm. Thanks!!
Isn't there way to check online status of anyone on hangout app ? Coz I can't see anyone's status ...

Seriously thinking of going back to 4.2.2
This hangouts app is terrible compared to gTalk. Is there any way I can install it on 4.3 without having to get root?
I am interested in this as well. My wife hates hangouts and her GNex is not rooted.

Google Talk from 4.2.2 can not be installed any more
First thing that I tried after updating my Nexus to JB 4.3 was to remove Hangouts and install back Google Talk from JB 4.2.2 but with no success. Application can not be installed any more. If anyone find solution for reverting back to Google Talk on JB 4.3 please let us to know. Hangouts are really terrible

Same issue. Any way to get google talk on 4.3?
I'm in the same boat. Don't wanna root the device, but don't want to stick with this ugly Hangouts either.
Anyone got a link to working Talk.apk for 4.3?
I uninstalled Hangouts.apk using Root Explorer (EStrongs), then I copied Talk.apk to /system/app
Set the permission to rw-r--r--
Reboot
It works, I got Talk notification ...
But, the Talk app is not shown in the app gallery
UPDATE:
Wiped Dalvik cache and Cache, doesn't help
Did all of that here too. Same results. It seems that Google is actively disallowing Talk.apk somehow.

Talk working
Guys im on stock 4.3 and rooted.
I was also playing around to get talk back... and i got it running "version 4.1.2-485486" even video call and sound is working just tested it.
what i did was download de gapps "gapps-jb-20121011-signed" deleted everything inside i dont want so just system\app and the lib files are in there.
Flashed it with twrp and it worked.
Got the zip here you can flash it but make a backup just in case.
Code:
http://speedy.sh/bcNdM/gapps-jb-20121011-signed-Talk-working.zip
And with titanium backup you can detach talk from the market so you wont get the update notification for hangouts.
please more details for newbies dear sir

Could you please provide more details what my steps should be to "flash it with twrp"? After I root my nexus 4 (which is well documented, I just looked up) and downloaded twrp & your gapps version. Thanks a lot in advance.

Yep, that worked for me however i got the latest version of gapps for 4.2.2 instead of 4.1.2, slightly updated version of gtalk...dont know what the difference was.
Before i flashed gapps though i uninstalled hangouts with titanium...don't know if that was neccessary...also can't detach talk from the market without the paid version of titanium...maybe i should get that, i still have credit left from when i got my nexus 7 last year

If you've installed twrp, when the tablet is on put the zip file on the sd card, reboot into recovery (twrp), select install, navigate to the sdcard folder and select the gapps zip file. it should install.
i also go to advanced and fix permissions after, don't know if it's needed or not.
I also used titanium to uninstall hangouts first, again i dont know if i needed to do this.
Alright, so I posted a thread a while back regarding how MagicJack crashes on my HTC One (M7). I simply open the app, it remains on a black screen for about 5 seconds then it crashes.
I am on ARHD 61.1.
I have tried all of these solutions:
-reinstall the app from Playstore
-reinstall the app from another source
-reinstall the app from both of the above with autosync off
-installed an earlier version of the app
-flashed the following roms: ARHD, Viper, Maximus (same issue on all roms)
-did a full wipe of my phone from TWRP
-reflashed ARHD again, and this is where I am at now
So I even took the extreme routes and it still didn't help. It simply just doesn't work with my phone.
Can anyone help me out with fixing this problem?
I have link of the logcat of when I try to open up MagicJack... http://pastebin.com/Gb90s8AH
Sorry for double posting.... this is the last time. If no one has any ideas this time then I'll give it up.
So I had a problem like this earlier, the issue was that everytime I installed a new rom, one of the first things I did was install Android Tuner and let that app install a lot of tweaks to speed up the system, and some of the tweaks in the build.prop caused a certain app to keep crashing because it kept running out of memory. Have you installed any tweaks after flashing any of the roms?

Well first I was on ARHD 52. MagicJack didn't work, so I figured it was an issue with ARHD.
When ARHD 53 came out a couple of days ago, it STILL didn't work. At that point I figured something must have been wrong.
(I do install the ElementalX kernel (specifically for double tap to wake, I keep everything else at stock.)
But this time, I completely wiped my phone. I installed a fresh ARHD 61.1, and I tried out MagicJack BEFORE I installed ElementalX again. Turned out, MagicJack still didn't work.
So other than ElementalX, I do not install any tweaks.
Well that's odd, sometimes a clean install of a rom is still not enough to make a certain problem go away. I had issues with a specific base, when I install 4.19.401.8 base, I can't sign in to Google, but when I install a newer or older base, the problem is gone. Now if I were to install the same base over and over again the problem would resurface in a different base. So I decided to use the stock AT&T RUU and start over. The RUUs usually restore nearly everything. So I think you should give that a try. And if you can try to run an RUU exe, not a zip.

Problem with that is... I have a Latin American International HTC One with a CID which is not supported by any RUU.
So I SuperCID'd to 11111111, and none of the RUUs seem to work.
(so I'm probably not selecting the correct RUU)
But tell you what. I'm going to do another wipe. I'm going to start again from the beginning with a new TWRP, new rom, and new everything.
If at this point MagicJack is STILL not working, then I'm literally out of ideas and I'll try RUUing.
Okay so I formatted and wiped my entire again, and I flashed a new TWRP, and I had no OS installed (nearly bricking my device). I installed a clean ARHD 61.1, and everything was from the beginning. I didn't sync any account, I didn't add the Google account either.
All I did was download Root Explorer, and installed a MagicJack.apk I downloaded from another source. It STILL didn't work. wtf
At this point, I'm going to assume that MagicJack needs to update their app and that it's not my phones fault.
It's just weird because for other people it works on ARHD 61.1.
The RUU might not work if your device is unlocked, you'll have to re-lock the bootloader to use an RUU.exe. But guess what, I decided to find the app and install it myself to see what's going on and I have the same issue. I'm running 4.19.401.11 base, the rom is my own and I have Elemental X kernel, so I think it's just the developers messing up here.

Ohh, so you're getting a black screen and just having the app crash too? Then yeah... the developers messed up.
Guess all that wiping went nowhere... at least I have a fresh start though. (didn't mean it to sound disgusting)

Yeah I'm sure they'll get it fixed.
I awaiting a fix for this problem as well. It sucks that magicjack doesnt seem to be working on sense roms. I have this same problem when I was using 4.3 as well but only on sense roms.
Same problem here on ARHD 53. I open Magic Jack, get the black screen for 10-20 seconds, then it exits. I wouldn't call it crashing because I don't get any error displayed.
I tried clearing data plus uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times and it always gives this result.
Is there anyone who has been able to get Magic Jack to work with the M7?
magicJack has been finally fixed, but only on the newest InsertCoin roms. I really wish Android Revolution HD would fix the problem as well since I prefer it over the former...

But, Android Revolution HD 81 has fixed the magicJack issue!! (for me at least) I simply flashed the zip, and installed with Sense 6 Toolbox. So I can finally remotely use my magicJack app.

As far as I know they were pulled from the Lollipop build, but other than that, no. I have them installed on my device and they are running great. I think they have a conflicting sig to keep unrooted peeps from installing. you will have to uninstall the old app and install this one to get it up and running. I believe you had to do the same w/ the keyboard app too.

According to TiBu, I am currently running "Phone 14.0.176716531" which I think it the latest update from Google. The update came out this week. Any other Phone apps should be frozen.
PS: Don't forget to select the new Phone app as the default. Its under the "gear icon" in Manage Apps.
In Titanium Backup, could the new Phone be converted to System App?
I still haven't got the G Phone to display right but have manged to turn on WiFi Calling in the Moto Phone. Will the G Phone support WiFi Calling? WiFi Calling is pretty slick. Reception sucked in my house but with WiFi Calling i feel like I am using an AT&T landline from years ago. As they said, "you can hear a pin drop".
I turned on WiFi caller using Magisk VoEnabler.

Awesome. Thanks!
I copied the V15 Dialer.apk (was renamed) to the folder /system/priv-app/dialer. I made the permissions -rw-r-r-. After a reboot I am now running the latest Google Dialer.
Prior to installing the apk, I ran a Zip file created by xabat, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dnZgFzKxYt9j8_uDwp5_36irMDsvN0q7/view?usp=drivesdk but I dont think that helped since I was still running the V14 Dialer afterwards.
Video icon is greyed-out and not seeing a setting for Assisted Dialing. Looks like v14, but its definitely v15.
