Is there any way to have Flickr for HTC Sense only upload your photos on WiFi? Much like the way the Dropbox app does it?
While my 3G speed is decent, I've only got a 1GB allowance and for whatever reason I'm continually getting notifications telling me the Flickr upload failed when out and about. I'd much rather it waited till I was on WiFi before attempting an upload.
It's under upload frequency....

Does anyone have a messaging apk w a 5mb limit? Is it that simple just to install one w a 5mb limit or is it more intricate than that? Thank you.
I had alimit on my evo but didn't know how much.

I have an evo currently and friends w tbolts. They are capped at 1200kb and some (most)of the pics, they send look like crap lol. My Evo has a 5mb limit and it sends large uncompressed files.
I'd love this too

I made one, but it didn't work right.
It doesn't matter what the limit is in the mms app, if Verizon has it capped. If you can verify that Verizon has not capped it, I will test further.
My testers had a hard time sending and receiving anything sent out at that size.
Thanks for looking into this. Mad96 tried gosmspro and when he set it to anything above 1.2mb it failed. Maybe its the way the rom he is on is doing the pics. I dunno. I am just trying to help them.
On my Evo it used to be 4g only sending large files but as the roms came I have been able to set my limit and easily send large files thru 3g. The pics are very crisp.
Thanks again for all your help
I honestly think VZW has a network cap.
That maybe true. I will suggest to them to do a backup, flash a stock rom and test. If its clear then it has to be something in the rom causing it. Weird Verizon wouldn't offer more.

I've tried searching but i don't think I'm using the right search terms.
I have this sweet bionic with blazing 4g speed but I am unable to rule the air as advertised. So I take this sick hd video I'm anxious to share with the world. I go to share said 25mb video and get denied! No wifi, says the phone, no sharing. I tried to explain that my 4g is LTE, the real deal but she wouldn't have none of it!
I'm rooted and stock rim. Is there some kind of hack or workaround that will allow me to share my seed and rule the air without wifi? Seriously, what good is 8-10mbps upload if you can't even use it? What the heck do you even upload if you take out videos of your cat or neighbors wife anyway?
Thanks for the help!

Go to Settings > Battery & Data Manager > Data Manager and turn it off.

I don't really understand what your problem is. You don't have a data connection? I share large videos via Bluetooth sometimes, g-mail if under 25MB, Facebook, or DropBox. You can also use youtube but I don't.
From what I gathered you want to have your phone as a hotspot? So you can connect you laptop etc and share the connection?

No I want to share a video to youtube, but because of its size or something it will only allow uploading it over wifi. I want to know if there is a way to workaround that and force the upload/share over 4g or even 3g.

If you turn off the setting I referenced earlier, you will be able to upload files larger than 5mb.
Thank you, but data saver is not checked so it is off. I did not realize the setting was already there but i've never had that on. Weird guess I'll try it with it on.
Thanks cobra

OK, so I can upload a 10mb video no problem. But the 25mb video that I was originally trying to upload still says waiting for wifi. Thanks for your help, i guess it's just not possible.

So after having this phone for a day I have discovered some quirks. One of which is when using zoe it takes 20 stills and a 3 second video clip but the stills dissapear somewhere into a black hole as can't find them on the phone.
However when I plug the phone into my desktop they show up where expected in the DCIM folder.
So I thought well what does dropbox do to manage the zoes. Answer NOTHING !
I checked my dropbox and have over 100 zoes in a folder so now I have turned off instant upload as I ser this as a headache to manage my photos.
Let me know if any of you guys have some workarounds for the above two issues.

Yeah it's a pain with Dropbox, I don't know how it can be managed.
On the phone, you can just scroll through the Zoe clip and see each individual still, so it's well managed.

This is really a BIG PROBLEM for me!! When i use Zoe feature it spams my dropbox to death...
I have hundreds of pictures which are nearly all the same and i have to delete them manually in dropbox... such a pain!
I know. Stupid HTC !!

Or turn off automatic photo up load to drop box and manually select the photo to up load

okay, i dont have 4g lte in my specific area yet. however, i went to a friends house about 10-15 miles away, and he actually had a sprint tower with 4g lte right next to him. the phone was fast! but when i was using my apps that have pictures, all the pictures were ruined! distorted!! they looked blocky, or had grey blocks on them..it was weird and textured. like as if it was a half downloaded picture.
what happened!!?!!? when i came home everything was back to normal
Which apps? And what media ?Ones sent to you in messages or in your gallery? You need to be more specific. LTE does not have a direct effect on image quality in terms of what you are describing. That's just QoS from area to area.

after i got home, and some of the apps updated with new pics, the pics came out normal
i just foud it very odd, and i hoped it wasnt linked to 4g because i know eventually we will get it.
Hi, I have black htc one from sprint.
I used to have a Galaxy S2 prior to upgrading to HTC One a few months ago.
On the S2, whenever I sent or received a txt message with a photo, the photo would be sent/received in full size, i.e not compressed.
For example, on my galaxy s2, when I recv a txt msg with a photo, I could open it in my SMS app and zoom in to view details of the photo.
But, on my htc one, whenever someone sends me a txt msg with a photo, it comes out really small,( compressed). So, im unable to even view it full screen sometimes, much less zoom in. Sometimes, I am able to , but most times I am not.
Also, whenever I snap a pic and txt it to someone, they tell me that pic is not full size and that it comes off smaller, fuzzy and they cannot zoom in to the pic on their phone.
So, it seems HTC is auto compressing pictures sent/received on the HTC one.
Is there a setting to change this back to normal? I hate the fact that I can see or send pics properly from the best phone on the market.
thanks
I think GoSMS pro has an option in the settings to keep pictures at high quality.. you could try this sms app from the play store

I think this is carrier dependent because it's your carriers network your sending it through.

Dont think the carrier is the issue in my case, since I could send/recv full size images from my older galaxy s2 phone.
problem started when i got the htc one
