This is just a port for the vibrant because I don't think anyone is keeping up with one.
Use the gapps in this post as it was published by miuiandroid for the rom.
Note: I did this one as a multi-language that is why the file size is a little bigger.
You should know the flash sequence by now but...
Backup
Wipe data (if on any rom other than this)
Format system
Flash rom
Reboot (don,t skip this reboot)
Flash gapps
Reboot
Setup & enjoy
ROM down do to errors
Gapps
past releases
Rom link up

Thanks for the awsome work man!!!!
Let me know how things work as I can see if it boots and a little bit of testing but I don't use the vibrant as my phone now.

Well I have a little bit more than 6 hrs with the rom and I can say It is a little bit laggy(expected i think) Don't know yet about battery, themes are working fine, and rom seems to be really stable with overlock at 117%, big mem, cfq, smartass. no random reboots or while playing
Love how it looks :=), if you want to know something more specific or want me to test something, i'll gladly do it.
Hope the miui development continues.
best regards.

Battery sems to be good, 17hrs and I stilll have 22%(117% OC, cfq, bigmem, wifi almost all day, data) so I guess phone is doing well and is going to deep sleep. gmail works really good, I had some trouble with candy crush facebook login, but it is working. I haven't tried the gps yet, I will today. I usually have between 125 and 150mb of free memory, I assume that is why it is a little bit laggy. Whatsapp and facebook works well also, No bugs yet to report.
Best regards
first look great but then I was upset as during voice call neither other party nor I can hear them. tried reset, reflash, vol up down but nothing fixes it for me. please help.
I also confirm, neither parties hear, possible solution?
Sorry that's the stuff I need to hear. Flash something else for the time being. I will try to get it right and release a update later.

Link to ROM was pulled so I can't test it. Could someone try this fix. It was originally used to reset all gps+ril files to vibrant files. I used them on my Miui ROMs I've built.

I'm going to disable Voodoo lagfix, make a nandroid backup of my crap and then TEST CyanogenMod 6.1! I'll wait first for some more testers to comment about their experience, just in case something catastrophic happens
GOOD WORK!
Update: Btw just noticed that this is a port of the GT-I9000 build. As much as I love CyanogenMod, I might hold this off until calling and sdcard mounting works (or when the Vibrant version from thedudesandroid is released). When the i9000 build was released, I knew that someone was working on getting it to run on the Vibrant xD

Once again thanks Eugene for your hard work. You are without a doubt the best asset that this community has. Thanks for putting this out so more people can work on it. I'll keep my Magnun ROM (running solid by the way), but variety and choice don't hurt.

Frankly, don't waste your time. UD is nothing more than CM7 ripped off (using CM7's code with little to no acknowledgment). If you want the features, just flash the latest CM7 7.1 release, and you are good to go.

Yea. in fact when said "developer" first attempted a ROM on the OG Droid, they left the CyanogenMod Boot Animation on the ROM. So some of the CM team downloaded the ROM and started digging though it. They found embedded cookies that they forgot to remove. Basically all they did was re-theme the ROM and took out the "cyanogenMod Options". I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
This will be a game changer!!
PLEASE REMEMBER THESE ARE NIGHTLY BUILDS.
THEY WILL HAVE BUGS.

What does OFFICIAL SUPPORT mean?
LEARN BY CLICKING
An Excerpt from that link above for the lazy ones:
An “official” CyanogenMod version is one that uses our code review system, our source repository, and our mirror network. It should look, act, and feel like CM on any other device, and more importantly, it should follow our release schedules (which is a “when it’s ready” kind of thing, but we do plan our final/RC releases when we feel it’s ready). Most importantly, no major hardware functionality should be broken.

So yeah, a fully functional (expect some bugs of course, initial release) Gingerbread built from AOSP AND injected with CM7 goodness.
Per the tweets, all hardware should work.
Nightly builds will be up on Rom Manager!!
I would also expect a ton of NEW roms to be based off CM7 and a ton of new themes...

What about GPS?
There have been reports of it working. We do not know this to be true though, and I do not mind that.
Expect for it not to work.... if it does, gravy boat!
WHO TO THANK??
@atinm (He would appreciate it if you became an organ donor - someone saved his life because they were)
@codeworkx
@dumdidum &
@guiperpt
THANK THEM for making the Galaxy line officially supported by CyanogenMod.
We owe these guys, big time.
HERE IS THEIR PAYPAL LINK
Also, @Koush (Rom Manager) has been doing a TON to get this up and running. Let him know you appreciate it.
You may not NEED it, but get the premium version of Rom Manager to show some support.
Now, go thank those guys...
EDIT 5/19/11 4:30
INITIAL INSTALL GUIDE
Perhaps there is an easier way, I did this while sitting at a copy machine bored AND it worked flawlessly for me.
Okay, I used this DOWNLOAD LINK (same as above)
moved it to internal sd after backing everything up
rebooted into CWR (I was on Trigger)
Do a nandroid backup (if you like)
I wiped (factory/data/dalvik)
installed... let it do its thing... several reboots (NORMAL)
Once done, I watched the beauty of the boot screen.
I then let it sit....
went into Rom Manager to Download Rom...
told it I already had CWR installed, selected the "CWR 3. " option...
selected the latest google apps, downloaded, unchecked any wiping options and let it do its thing
next reboot, signed in and I am good to go.
THE VIBRANT HAS BEEN REVIVED!!!

Here's something 1 person asked Atinm...
@atinm how is #vibrant done if the gps isn't working yet? Or are we in for a surprise?

@tmosto Going to mainline in no way means bug free. It just means that development will now be done on CM repositories.
Just because it's official does not mean gps will work... a huge step though.
captivatemtd is there

For the few days that I use on the release version(a few RC and nightly version too) and it is also my opinion on our P880
Photo sphere..r u meaning that you can take photo like a sphere? As I know stock CM10.1 does not have it(let me know if it does)......it still provide Panoramic (360 degree) photo... But I will flash and use the stock 4.1 photo apps instead, because only the stock one can make HDR really works and I feel that the picture quality is better.
Google Now....It works.
other functions...
MHL
As I previously said.. if you need MHL output.... sorry CM10.1 is never your choice.. coz' they officially said they won't improve the vertical problem while Nvidia didn't provide api for it.
Force 4x MSAA..
I have read some post said Tegra 3 chip does not support it .... so it won't work too
Gallery link to Google+ or Picasa (let me know if I am wrong too)
As I remember the stock 4.1.1 gallery can link to them, but it will not show it on CM10.1's gallery
No Stock Chinese IME (I am a chinese, maybe it is not a problem for most of you guys)
Well I can understand this, because it is the same as Nexus 4....but you can install an apps for it.
Except you need MHL.. it is really a great ROM...better control, UI and better response than the stock. I have never use benchmark to test any device while the actual feeling is mean more than this. Also, as we all know, the more apps we install the less performance it has.
For your reference (from Stock to CM10.1)
Battery life.... I can tell, it is almost the same. At the very 1st time I truly wipe off all my apps and use CM10.1... CM make a real difference.. but once I have all the stupid apps running now.. it is just the same.
Smoothness... Honestly it did improve!!! Even I have 100 or more apps installed...I still feel it has a lot better response than the stock.
Heat problem... Improve a little bit, but still the system go wrong (slower or restart) in poor condition(ie. hot weather)
For myself CM10.1 release works perfect except MHL for this phone. 4x HD has some hardware issue, but it is still a great phone for its price tag in HK.
Hope it helps and Thanks,
Mike

For the FM radio problem, i have no idea. I don't know y my release version of CM10.1, doesn't come with any FM Radio app. But i do remember some previous nightly or RC versions has it and it was working. I seldom use FM, so it is also not an issue for me.

How about charging issue?
My device sometimes stop charging at 92%, 96%, 97%.
After unplug charger, the charging resume to 100%.
Sometimes charging goes to 100%.

I'm kind of a "ROM-a-holic". I like to try new ROMs all the time. I really like SlimKat (by "jfbs"), but I've noticed that the volumes seem to be very low...even when I have them turned all the way up I have a hard time hearing the caller. Am I just imagining this or have others noticed this? I've been using it for several weeks and really like it, but will probably go back to CM11 for awhile (until SlimKat gets another update) and see if I notice differences in the volumes. If anyone else notices this issue maybe they could pass it along to jfbs. I love all the great work everyone is doing with the ROMs for this relic of a phone!!

I don't have slimkat, but I used slimbean for a long time. I had a similar volume issue there. What worked with slimbean was actually to click volume _down_ one click and then turn it up. Maybe that workaround will fix your problem. Good luck.
