Has anyone else got complaints from the person on the other end of their call that we sound either really far away or distorted? I seem to get it allot and different locations.

Yep....i stopped caring at this point...
Try disabling voice privacy. Settings>Calls>Voice privacy. I'm using an EVO LTE so it might be different or might not

I'll give that a try, the post above I hear ya it's becoming so annoying like every other call is what I can't hear you.

1- Watch that your pinky finger doesn't accidentally move over the microphone while you're holding it.
2- Check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2262648
I currently have the team at HTC interested in this. The problem is their noise cancellation may be picking up your voice for just a moment while you switch ears, or move... then for up to 30 seconds, your voice is considered "background noise" and is filtered out mostly.
This frequency cut gives the impression that you're far away or in a tunnel. I'll update the main thread when I hear back definitively what their findings were, and if there will be a fix.
Workaround for now, is talk very consistently (don't alter volumes) and watch your positioning; don't talk to where the back of the phone could pick you up.

Have an Airrave at the house where we are. It's nice but going from Sprint to the Airrave and back again is annoying at times. It does work damn good however.

According to this post, it's been around for a few years.
got one a while back. it's hit or miss whether it works well depending on it's mood and depending on your location.
In addition, if you're on a call, and you leave it's range, it doesn't seamlessly switch over, it drops your call.
So mine just sits nicely in the corner, protecting a spot on my floor from dust.
This operates on all bands including are jew 800Mhz band. Also the product is not new but the number is.

Thank you so much for the great find. It was very easy to get it sent out.

Yes it is a newer model with Sprint rolling out its new enhanced 800mhz band this will also carry that band.

I'm not sure. I never heard of it, but the reviews are throwing me off. Maybe if I see more people saying good things about it, I'll try it.
Thanks for posting this! I'll keep this in mind if my reception gets bad again. I think Sprint was working on towers in my area for several months but seems to have gotten fixed in the last couple weeks.
I've had mine for close to 2 years. Happy with it.
I live in a 2 story home and it works flawlessly everywhere.
Sent From The Galaxy Via Subspace
I've had mine for 4 years in four different locations and it is definitely better than the naked Sprint signal, but also quite hit or miss and dependent on your Internet service. It worked flawlessly in my loft in Denver and very well in my first two places in Albuquerque, but barely noticeable in my house in Rio Rancho. Incidentally, my Internet absolutely sucks here so I'm positive this has much to do with the current poor performance of the Airvana.
In any case, I've been using the Airave for 4 years completely free so no complaints here. If you have poor service in your home or business, you should definitely call the number in the OP and see about picking one up. If you get denied but really need one, keep calling. Eventually they will agree to set you up.

What is that dreadful rattle noise that seems to come with the haptic feedback of every HTC phone? Sometimes the feedback seems fine then the weird rattle comes back. Had this phone one day btw. Dropped it once though.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
Have had mine for a few days now and has only had one fall from a few inches off the ground so I know my issue isn't from damage.
The haptic feedback seems okay for the most part, but any other vibration is crazy loud/rattles. Even while holding in your hand and not just rattling on the desk or something. Seems to be a common problem.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Sounds like a QC issue. It should not be like that. Mine is silent when vibrating, unless on a table or something hard that resonates the sound.

Interesting. Yeah mine makes the sound only when sitting on a hard surface, or if my hand is in a certain spot on the phone. I hate that sound so much though.

I can say that the vibration sound is quite loud and annoying. And it is only when holding it certain ways. Straight up a s down it makes no noise. At a 45° angle it is quite loud as well as holding it flat.

It's the worst! It's like this with every HTC phone I've had. I just turn off all haptic on HTC phones because it annoys me so much.
Makes me second guess not going with the s4

The vibration issue makes me want to take this back and exchange it in store. The data issues and next to impossible streaming capability(have not yet been able to stream a YouTube video using mobile data) make me want to just take it in and exchange for the s4.
The over all build quality and believe it or not, the ui and software makes me want to keep the One.
Still have about 10 days left to make my decision.

Ok so long story short I posed in the HTC One Themes and Apps subforum requesting a louder speaker and in call volume everyone seemed to say they have no problems and the phone gets really loud. Any past S3 users who wish the speaker phone and in call volume was louder?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301143
To me it is quite a bit quieter and is pretty noticeable. I thought I would post here since maybe this is a sprint build problem (as I have discovered I have the death grip problem that mainly sprint users have)

I used to have the s3. Only thing I feel was better was signal. I jump between 3g and 4g a lot more vs the s3 where I had a constant 4g signal. Speakers are great everything is fine with my One other than the signal issue it's not the death grip either regardless to wether I'm holding the phone or it still jumps.

Maybe my S3 was really loud because of a sound mod which was included in many roms. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Yeah, I also had an s3 and the sound mod, even at 50% would make the speaker extremely loud.
Sent from My Only "One"
S3 didn't get nearly as loud as the One can. Turn off beats if you want it louder.
Signal issues are software and are present in every HTC phone on release unfortunately. The problem is simply that it gives up on an LTE signal too quickly, not that it can't receive it.
Compare dBm with your s3 side by side.

Same here with the signal issue! This has been a problem for me since the Evo Lte, I traded my S4 for the One becasue of the superior quality build but seriously Im starting to think that LTE is more important to me than the build quality and Im very positive this wont be fixed with an update because the evo Lte still has the poblem. Terrible handoff between 3g & 4g :crying:.

Hi,
Not sure where to post this but here goes.........
Has anyone else noticed a faint Buzz/static at the very end a song or possibly during the quiet moments? I have noticed it when watching netflix as well.
Most people wouldn't notice but if you really listen it's there. I did a google search and it sounds like this May be a wide spread issue with different devices. I have the Canadian version of note 3 (smn900w8) I am finding this so friggin frustrating as I took back the lg g2 for this and don't want to regret swapping it. I did have a note 2 but I didn't notice if it was thee or not.
I'm also trying to find out what dac the North American version is using? Has there been any news?
You are correct and it is on many devices. I suspect this is something to do with the audio driver of the phone because on different ROMs it didn't do that

I think you right. I get the feeling that something needs to be bypassed like they do with certain kernels. I have tried using different players but no luck.
Anyone else able to confirm? Anyone figure out what dac is actually in this thing? Wolfson?
No problem with mine I just tried Netflix, music and everything else. However, the audio is crazy loud on the n3 compared to the n2 .

The farther I am from my phone when using s-voice, the worse it gets. If I'm next to my phone, it's fine. Go upstairs and phone down, it's crackly. I feel it's not the speaker but just the relay between phone and gear is weak, like when I used blue tooth headsets and would push the limits on distance.
