Did you install some ROM or kernel? If it is stock, go to service if you have warranty.

Do factory reset from recovery. Power on phone by holding HOME+VOL.UP+POWER buttons, and look for factory reset there. But that will wipa all your data and apps (will not touch internal or external sd, just instaled apps, contacts etc). That could help if it is not hardware problem.
Install a JB custom rom, much better

Kabooot - it looks like your /efs folder is corrupt. If you have made a backup of that folder, you can try restoring it. There are some pointers on this thread.

Since you can get to the downloading screen I would suggest you reinstall JM9 following the instructions carefully.

If following all that stuff from the link does not work (I hope it does!), then you might try to flash a firmware with Odin, and select the option "Phone EFS Clear".
NOTE: I am not entirely sure this is safe!
But when I had the EXACT same problem you are having, I reflashed my phone like 20 times with many different firmwares, and a few times I selected that option. Then one time... just randomly... my phone started working, and I even got back my original IMEI and stuff.

I think he is a young kid & may not have a lot of experience/patience of many of us here, I think some patient soul here can guide him to flash an official ROM over Kies. I think Kies can see the phone in download mode & can update the firmware.
Have you solved your problem yet?
I was trying to make a custom rom and rom manager didn't have my model. And i am a huge smartass so i chose a different model and continued. my phone rebooted...well half way cus it didn't turn back on. now my phone doesn't turn on even a bit. even when i plug it in, the battery charging icon doesn't appear.
Does anybody know how to help?
I have the s5830d.
My mom is very angry, so please help
What model did you used?

my phone doesn't turn on. the screen is completely dead. i will try odin though. but what do i do if my phone is completely dead? i heard of oneclickunbrick but im new to linux and i have no clue how to run it. what else can i try?
Well oneclickunbrick will run in Windows also, it would take your phone to download mode so you can go on with Odin
Otherwise if that doesn't work I think you'll need to go to repair service

or you can do it on PC Companion if installed on your PC.
Either one, connect you phone, check for updates,
it will update or say you have the latest update, but give you a repair option.
But, if you do use repair, it will wipe data from your phone so back up any contacts, media or app's you want to keep.
You could try a Factory Reset on your phone first, this resets defaults.
Settings >> Back Up & Reset >> Factory Data Reset >> Reset Phone >> Erase Everything
or you can do it on PC Companion if installed on your PC.

Thanks mate! Ok, I'll try to do as u said. And how do you think can I stay on ICS without updating to JB? , it's because I've read threads that JB isn't that good for this phone

Try the Factory Reset first, that wont affect ICS to JB, but back up your stuff.
Ha, you can't have the best of both worlds, either stay on ICS with no camera or update to JB.

Hmm, that is really strange. When I was on Stock ROM, I never had that issue. I wish I could help you. The only thing I can suggest is re-installing the ROM using Sony's Companion Repair software, but I don't think it's worth that hassle. So the only thing I can suggest is try not to turn your phone off if you can help it
