There are a few apps like widget locker or the ring locker, try these if you don't want to go deeper in the system for this

Hi Guys,
I am NOOB to android and recently i have upgraded myself to Andro-ID ROM after using CM7 for a while . everything is good in this ROM except this Lockscreen which i love those CM7's ones. Anyone please throw some light to me on how to change a lock screen ??? I am unable to find an answer .. All the answer google providing me is to go for Widget Locker .Is there any way other that that ?
Thanks in advance !!!
yyeah..Widget Locker is gud if u want diff types of lock screen.. use dat..
Thanks but i am in a learning mode .. hence trying to understand how and where this locker screens are embedded inside ROM .. Hope we get some answer for that too !
What you want to do depends on exactly what it is you want to do (sounds paradoxical but hear me out).
CM7 lockscreen is the stock android lockscreen but with 2 additions, first they added the ability to see battery state always (not only when charging), the other is that they added music controls.
So if you want those features you'll have to code them yourself since they're part of Cyanogen's code.
If you want the look you'll be better using CM7 since the Rings lockscreen wasn't implemented until GB 2.3.7 and porting that would require that you build andro-id from sources.
Anyways if you want to try it, the lockscreen is contained inside /system/framework/android.policy.jar
thanks a lot .. will try and let u know guys if i am able to find anything!!!
use agile lock instead

hhhmm....
i'm newbie and want to try a widget locker
where i can get it?
Agile lock, ripple lock, widget locker, go locker (you can find this one in the go dev Web site)...
My opinion: don't use widget locker, you have to pay it and have root for some simple sliders, try and consider the others I suggest you...
For the first two: try the free version then, if you don't want to pay them, you can unlock for free just installing and running once the apps they suggest you.
Hope I've helped you man ;-)

thanks mate.. will try that soon and will update my xperience
if u want to mod the lockscreen, pull framework-res.apk from your system , in deodexed rom you can change lockscreen style (editting xml and image) without any additional apk needed.
Is there anyway to change the camera shortcut in the ics lockscreen for the sound toggle shortcut? I've seen it in roms for other devices but i dont know how they do it :/ I dont want to use any apps like widgetlocker or golocker
i hope you can help me or tell me where to look in the roms that i mentioned before
i'm using IScreamDX.
Thanks
It should be in
Cyanogenmod settings->lockscreen->style options->click on custom app starter.
Choose the app u want to show up.
Press THANKS if I tried to help...
i apologize for my english, i do my best xD but the thing i want in the lockscreen is the shortcut that switch between ring/sound mode(vibrate/ring/silent). And in Ice Cream Sandwich(4.0.4) you change the shortcuts from Settings->Interface->System (at least thats what i do). It's not an app(it can be done with apps like widget locker or golocker).
If someone can tell me where to look, or point me in the right direction XD
There is no cyanogenmod settings option in ics rom

I'm just curious. i've recently update my note to the latest ICS via Samsung Kies expecting a nice ICS style lockscreen similar to that of the nexus. is there anyway to get that.? mine's currently still set as my old lockscreen wallpaper with no new additions.
What i'm looking out for:
The app icons on the lockscreen; by unlocking from any of the icons will boot my camera/messages/unlock to home/some other app icon?
You're looking for AOSP lockscreen. There are apps in the market for that - or you can always get an AOSP based rom like CM9
Try go locker from market + go locker ics theme
Any of those available that lets me use my own custom wallpaper?
Is there anyway to remove or change the shortcuts on the standard lockscreen?
I find the camera just lags really bad is of little use so would rather just not have them there so that i can see more of my wallpaper
thanks
sorry just seen its in the wrong section...mod please move
thanks
Camera shortcut can be removed in Camera settings. Walkman can't. Lockscreen looks wrong with an icon on one side and not the other so I put the Camera back on.
Don't use either of them though.
hmm thats a shame then might need to look to a 3rd party one then, just worries me about the xtra battery drain that normally comes with things like this.
Would be great if there was a 3rd party one that would show unread email and texts etc also on the lockscreen
anyone suggest one?
Maybe holo locker... Its the original jb lockscreen

Plz let me know if there is any way to make my cLock Home and Lock screen of cm10 rom like cm10.1 as you see in this threat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186734. Unfortunately this threat is only for android 4.2 users
I made my desk clock like cm10.1 using this desk clock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969617 , but i want to make my lock clock - Home & Lock screen widget look like cm10.1 too.
Tnx.
Hi there,
It's impossible to make this at your lockscreen as you're running cm10 which based on 4.1
As I see this you have 2 alternatives:
1. install a CM10.1 based rom.
2. install a lockscreen app that supports adding widgets like "widget locker". I guess with this method you'll also need dashclock or any widget that has the attributes you were looking for.
GL !

Dashclock doesn't support 4.1.x.
But yeah, Widgetlocker would really be your alternative, maybe some UCCW skins or something like that would replicate the CM10.1 cLock...

- I don't want upgrade to cm10.1 rom
- Dashclock widget app is only for android 4.2.
- Widget locker has not cm10.1 lock clock theme.
Any way?
or any widget that has the attributes you were looking for.

I'm not sure that you can't install dashclock(as I'm on 4.2) because it's possible to place the widget on your homescreen as well. That's exactly why I said the above quote..
the widget locker is only so you'll be able to place any widget you'd like at your lock screen.

To answer your question once and for all, I don't think it'd be possible to get the CM10.1 lockscreen- at least, accurately- on CM10.
The best you could do would be to replace the lockscreen clock fonts in CM10 with the font used for the CM10.1/Deskclock/cLock clock. That way at least your lockscreen clock will look like it (minus the function of widgets on the lockscreen).
Aside from this I don't think there is any other way to replicate the CM10.1 lockscreen clock, and even then I'm not sure this method will actually work. The lockscreen's coded directly into the framework I believe and so will take a bit of work.

I'm sorry, but I don't know which fonts determine the lockscreen clock fonts...
My guess- based on stock/other versions of Android- would be a font with Clock in the title, eg. Clockopeia or somethin like that. I haven't looked into editing fonts manually before, so I can't really help here :/
