Its for different htc phone bt may work

As far as I'm aware the **tampered** flag is there in the same spirit as the yellow triangle on Samsung devices, exactly so they can tell you've unlocked and modified it. Unfortunately, I do not believe there is currently a method such as with triangleaway to get rid of this on the One yet. You'll just have to chance it and send it back as is

That's probably why I don't find anything about how to fix that, However if this is a dev phone this should be allow that's part of what developers do I think.
If is like that I guess I'm fu..ked damm..! I never care to read more before I root my cell because I didn't though I'll have to return it
now I'm gonna pay the consecuenses.
Thank you guys

RUU
If you download and the One's RUU from HTC's website, it erases the tampered. I discovered this when I had to restore my device to stock with the RUU.

Should be to download the RUU, run the RUU. The bootloader needs to be relocked.
After you set set it back to factory, just unlock the bootloader and you're free to go.
If the exe version doesn't work, the fastboot version should.

Both Brightstar US listed above is the Developer Edition. The CID is BS_US001 (I think they should of used a better CID letters!!). The first one is the EXE, the other is the ZIP for the fastboot version.
I have the Developer Edition as well and have used both EXE and ZIP versions.

Thank you guys IT WORKED.....!

2.Install RUU.EXE

You need to open a new thread for this, that is an entirely different phone model. Also, list exactly what you did that caused the problem. People will help, but you need to be in the right place.

[Q] Correct RUU

I have the 64GB Developer Edition. I am looking to full restore. I downloaded what I thought to be the correct RUU, but it errored out telling me it wasnt the right one. This is what I downloaded:
One Brightstar US WWE RUU
3.4.10
v4.1 984.32 MB
1.29.1540.3 Developer Edition
Do I need to flash stock recovery back first or something?

Usually you need to relock the bootloader before flashing an RUU but I dont know how that would work on the Dev edition...
I just tried re-flashing the stock signed recovery from the zip file download from HTC and it just hangs at "Entering Recovery". FML

I used the US version from here: http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
It's just an exe you run in windows. It fully restored the device. I did have to go through the bootloader unlocking process afterwards though. Seems kind of funny that I had to "lock" what shipped unlocked only to unlock again. Ohh well, such is life in the green robot world.
i keep getting and error saying the phone isn't connected .. error170

Make sure you have the HTC Sync Manager installed. This loads the correct USB drivers for the device to work in fastboot/adb etc. You may be able to install the drivers separately from another source, but this option worked for me.
For some reason it won't work..

That is the most dumbest thing from htc, send you an unlocked edition but have to lock to update the official ruu, then go through a unlock process left for everyone else that didn't pay extra for unlocked version
this has been a blast.. now i'm stuck in ruu mode
no clue how to fix. anyone have any idea?

Removing Root from HTC One on O2 UK Carrier

Hi,
I don't think this is in the right place but i am unable to post under the developers area for assistance and everyone has told me this is the best place to get some help.
I am looking to get rid of my root for my HTC One on an O2 network and I think i need to get the boot loader locked which i can do then run a RUU file that matches my phone. The RUU's i have run seem to be the wrong ones and i am at a loss to which one i should be using, when i go through the steps it says that my version is 1.27.206.1 does this mean i need to find the version that is O2 and 1.27.206.1 for it to work?
I have also tried an OTA but this just stops at the boot loader screen and i think this is because some of the stock apps are wipe. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the very quick response, ok that narrows it down quite a bit, would you happen to know which RUU i would be looking for when it does come out? will it be a specific O2 RUU for the version 1.27.206.1? Also where would i check for it once its released?
Is their anyway around the OTA update to remove the Root atm?

You would need an ruu that has the same software or newer than yours. The key bit would be the .206 section. There is an RUU thread here. You could flash one of the stock nandroid backups in the RUU thread. Add the apps back. There is a .zip somewhere then remove the stock recovery and flash the ota.

Ok, no worries, i have downloaded the UK Nandroid rom and flashed it to my device but i still have everything on my phone like games that i had before flashing it which is a little odd.
i have also found the stock apps from a post on here like you said and have them all installed on the phone. Could someone explain the next steps please,
why dont you just use the unroot in the superuser apps? SuperSU has the option.

Seems like your phone is rooted do you don't receive any official updates. You can boot in boatloader and see if your phone is unlocked, shutdown your phone and start your phone by holding power and volume down button at the same time. See what it says there, probably "unlocked" and s-on or s-off. After that chose recovery and see which recovery you have.
Go to settings - About Phone - Software Info and post what it says.
The device you bought was not new. It was unlocked and had or has a custom recovery installed.

It looks like it is a development model (not DEV edition), which should not be sold anyways.
You can root and flash custom ROM, but I highly doubt that you will receive updates for a development model.

Well since your bootloader is already unlocked and you got the custom recovery, you can always flash the latest custom rom that has Android 4.2 or 4.3. Otherwise you can bring the phone back to stock if possible. They're how to guides on how to do that on XDA.

Well your bootloader is still 1.44, so you still have the option to get S-Off, which would allow you to remove TAMPERED, and also allow you to return completely back to stock using a RUU.
How familiar are you with all this? I would recommend reading some of the guides, but if you do want to get back completely to stock you'll probably need to S-Off.
Can you post "fastboot getvar all" (and remove your IMEI and serial number before posting).
No updates

Factory reset will just reset your current Rom. So you have two options, 1 flash an other rom, which is already 4.3 and learn what a custom Rom can do for you, welcome to xda or 2, you can revert to stock version by flashing the right RUU for your version, but you need s-off to do this. You should do this now your bootloader is still 1.44. Anyway whatever you gonna do, you will have some homework to do!
thanks nkk and farang..

First you need to install the HTC drivers (http://d-h.st/4LL), and adb/fastboot sdk (http://d-h.st/ja1) credits to @vomer; please read through the first part of his guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506
Once you've installed HTC drivers, and unzipped adb sdk to C:\ADB, reboot your phone into bootloader -> FASTBOOT, connect your phone to the PC, FASTBOOT will change to say FASTBOOT USB.
On your PC: "CD C:\ADB" then type "fastboot getvar all" and post results back (remember to remove IMEI and serial number)

OK, that tells us you have a Vodaphone UK version, not Asia, not a problem.
Since you're still on 1.44 hboot, I would recommend to get S-Off, as you will not be able to do that later. Continue followoing vomer's guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506 and the original revone thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
Do the S-Off, no need to SuperCID at this time.
Why S-Off you ask, it would allow you to run any RUU (upgrade & downgrade) for any country and/or carrier.
Regarding SIM Lock, is your phone tied to any specific carrier at the moment? I assume not, since I dont think you're on Vodaphone UK, so the phone is/should arleady by SIM-unlocked.
Continue and report back, so we proceed with the next steps.

if you can get s-off, then why not just use an unbranded stock rom, very easy to do once you got s-off and will come with no bloatware or branding, doesn't get anymore stock or faultless than that, plus you'll get OTA's and still beable to root it, just like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54865512&postcount=8

lol the one I linked is unbranded stock, you just need to follow those instructions and be s-off
you can do it that way for dev edition which will get you the fastest OTA's when available or for HTC Europe WWE generic unbranded:
Change cid to HTC__001 (always 8 characters)
Change MID to PN0710000 using this tool in a custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2535365
download this firmware, put your phone into RUU mode and don't forget to flash it twice: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407574029
download this RUU and run it with your phone in fastboot USB mode: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...0-38r-1157-04l_release_353069_signed_2-1-exe/
either way you will need to be s-off
Quick question before I start doing this; do I HAVE TO unlock the boot loader or can I do it straight away?

you HAVE TO unlock the bootloader in order to flash or use a custom recovery so you can use the tool to change your MID, you also HAVE TO BE S-OFF.

Your phone is s-on, their is no RUU that will work with your phone
use this GURU Reset and choose yes to stock recovery and radio and no to root during install
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358543706
it's also a good idea to factory reset before flashing the Guru Reset
Also you need TWRP 2.6.3.3 to flash the Reset correctly

It all depends on when you updated the phone before flashing custom recovery
if your on 5.11.401.10 your phone should update normally ...this software matches your CID
However if your on 6.09.401.5 and it tries to update it will most likely fail
I'm not sure how many .401 updates their are after 5.x
