Hi,
Does the S3 Mini have voice dictation out of the box, where you just hold the little mic symbol on the keyboard, speak and it will convert your voice into text?
I'm looking at getting one of these for my Dad and wanted to check as he wants this feature
Hope you can help

Me and my partner got our two I9300's today but for some reason when we set the text message vibration to "heartbeat", it seems to only vibrate as if set "direct call".
Any help?

EKHEM.... AFAIK GT-I9300 is galaxy sIII, so wrong forum and i dont think anyone can help you with ANOTHER device, not galaxy s/plus, for devices wich doesnt have their own forum yet, (if GS3 hasnt got one yet) use general...
EDIT: now im really mad at you because GS3 has its own Q&A section *facepalm*... for mr.lazy : http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1569 there, pointed with finger for you in right forum, now go ahead ask THERE and NOT here... Problem?
Well excuse me for not noticing a different forum name.

I came across this a few days ago. Its the HM5100 BT S Pen from Samsung. Im really interested in it but since it was only a parting gift for attendees at one of Samsung's events, its limited availability and I see it selling for almost $200 on ebay. I'm wondering...is its worth that much?

It's also a Bluetooth mic and speaker, multipurpose. I can see it being valued at $200. Worth that much is debatable.
117$ shipped
Original Note 2 S-Pen costs 32 euro in the Netherlands, available in white and grey.
This is for 10.1..i have the normal s pen with eraser for note 10.1 which i try to use it on note 2..i found when drawing or write something, its off set a little bit..i even try original S pen 10.1 in its slot..same result..off set..not convinient when writing something..idk if S pen with bluetooth is same off set..it looks like s pen for note 2 is different

I know. I got a lot of info on it and I'm just about pushed to get it but I don't want to be disappointed with the usability at that price.
Oh yeah...

Thanks. I didn't think of that. I don't see any option to calibrate it either. I may have to look into this some more before I pull the trigger.

I've seen on other sites that Samsung will most likely release this pen for purchase as well. The good packaging also leads me to believe this might be true. I like the idea of the bigger pen, but the phone call feature seems kind of pointless. 130 seems a bit high though... Also seems like sort of a burden unless there is a case you can store it in as well, otherwise just another component to bring with you.
Speaking on the topic of pens!
I have a couple all-white, axiotron pens from using it with my ASUS EP121 tablet. I noticed that they work in a similar fashion as the SPen does but one thing that they do that the SPen does not is an erase feature! I can flip around the pen and use the other side to erase what I have drawn but the SPen can't do that... I tried to use the link to find the pens that I bought but the link is not working anymore!
Just a heads up, that there are pens out there that can give you an easy 'erase' feature if you're using the device for a lot of drawing/sketching.

Does the pen have a notication led? And does it tell you missed a text message as well as a call

There are videos on it. I didn't see them mention any thing on this type of function so my assumption is no

No. No notification features. I think I might have it already if it included those features.

For that amount of money it's NOT worth it to me.
I'd just get a regular BT headset and go hands free. and use the SPen built into my phone.
Just got one!
I just received mine! I'm currently in Europe, so I got it from Amazon Germany for about 55 Euros, which s still cheaper than the cheapest order possibility in the states.
Anyway, I bought it for my Note 10.1 3G, but since that has been borrowed by the GF, I just paired it with my Note 2. Paired fine, calls seem OK,
However, the S Pen part won't work on my Note 2 when my original S Pen is attached to the phone. Only when I remove my factory S Pen, then the BT S Pen works on the screen.
Anyone else have this problem? If yes, were you able to find a workaround?
I want to be able to use the BT S Pen without having to detach the original one - seems ridiculous that it won't work like this.
This has probably been covered if so I apologize. I did a search and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I purchased a Q2 for my Note 2 because it said it would read the contacts names but it doesn't. Blue Ant just told me it's a phone issue with the S3's and Note 2's. Are there any out there that are compatible. I'm not looking for a stereo set. I have one that I love when I'm walking and listening to music. (That doesn't read the contract either but I dint care on this set) And at this point money is not an issue. I just want the bells and whistles! Any help is appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

I use the plantronics voyager legend with the vocalist app reads the contacts and lets you answer or deny with your voice
Needless to say it works great for me

Thank you for your response. I ended up returning it and getting the q3. It reads the income caller id right out of the box. When I voice call its using the S voice. So now I'm going to g have to get used to that. I need to check the settings but doesn't tell me who I'm dialing until it's actually dialing. It will ask me "which number", but I have to assume I have the right one if I am not looking at the phone. We will see. More playing tomorrow.

Is anyone else having trouble getting svoice to understand what you're saying? I feel that I am speaking clear enoigh, but it still consistently misses what I am trying to relay to it. Any tips or advice?

Is the voice recognition done on the watch or the phone?
I don't have the Gear yet, but on the phone, the voice recognition improved immensely for me once I downloaded the Australian English pack.
It's under the language and input > voice search settings of the phone.
If it's done on the watch, is there a way to download different dialect packs?

From my understanding is the gear has its own simplified version of Svoice built in... and it sucks donkey balls.

That sucks. I guess if you speak with a north American mid west accent you are probably ok. For the rest of the world...
The voice recognition was very poor for me without downloading the Australian English pack.
The more days pass while I wait for it to be available in Thailand, the more I think I'll wait for version 2...

I've had good luck with it, use it all the time. Speaking naturally has helped, as well as making sure both microphones aren't covered.
Hi all
I have been searching around and could not get and answer hope guy here could enlighten my question
I have a working unit note 8 has been using quite a while. Till recently when someone call me and I pick up the call and while having a conversation, the voice will automatically change to speaker. Anyone counter this issue ? Is it a bug or hardware issue .
Advice could he appreciate
Thanks

I don't have that issue. If I did , I would look for a bluetooth device that isn't working correctly . Also , would look at how I hold my phone to my ear while on a call, could it be my cheek, or a finger accidentally touching the speaker icon.
That's where I would start , hope it helps a little bit.

Ok, now that I think about it , my gear s3 triggers speakerphone once in a blue moon. Hasn't happened in awhile , so I would try experimenting with the bluetooth on and off to see if you can isolate when it happens. The gear s3 can still connect via wifi.
