Originally i unlocked the bootloader, installed CWM r3covery and faux kernal. my phone prompted me of the update, i flashed my Rogers phone with an AT&T original recovery (is that a problem? do i need original rogers?) i left kernal and bootloader unlocked. when 8 try to update it either hangs r i get a red triangle, please help!

Can someone help? I have HTC vivid which was rooted and had cwm recovery,I try to update
Butt I can because after installing the ice hboot I try to install cwm recovery to get the stock
Recovery but nothing.I enter the hboot but when I go to recovery the phone it shows a icon like
Hd drive and it is restarting after 30 to 40 second .I reflashed the the file but nothing.the phone
Is locked and very strange it does not show locked but relocked.I do not want to flash the ruu
Directly because I had costum recovery and I do not want to brick my phone.so can someone help?

If you are relocked you will have to unlock again to flash a custom recovery, kernel, and rom. Also, this should have been posted in the general thread.

Did you relock your bootloader by HTCdev before attempting any of this? If not, then all you have to do is boot into fastboot and input the command:
fastboot oem relock
Afterwards just run the RUU.
Dev's move this to general... wrong section buddy next time put it in the General area not development

The phone is locked and I flash ruu butt now I have more serious problem.
The phone is stock at HTC logo with triangle on each corner.I try to.
Reflash nothing it goes up to 34% and it get stock there.
i've buyed my htc one with 4.2.1 after 1 day i have unlocked it, flashed twrp recovery, elementalx kernel, an xposed/modaco toolkit.
now i want to update to official 4.2.2 and reroot...
so i did:
flashed original recovery
relocked
downloaded update from phone
but when it reboot to install it display a red triangle and update will fail
so what i'm doing wrong?
i know that i can flash a rom 4.2.2 but i want to know why and how to do, just for my knowledge
after that flashed a stock kernel but i lost wifi and cant do RUU for unknow reason

but today my phone shows me update of 4.4.3 from 4.4.2 i have installed 500+ mb update
but when i tried to update it restart and goes into twrp recovery and shows me twrp menu only
i don't know how to update it.
so please help me regarding this . i will be thank full to you for this.

To install the OTA, your phone must have stock rom, stock recovery, locked/relocked bootloader if you are s-on and some stock apps that will be updated with the OTA.
yes i have stock rom that i got from android revolution and every thing and but i have twrp recovery and boot loader is relocked so pls help me how can i get update from OTA
I unlocked the bootloader, installed philz recovery and rooted. Then an update came so i unrooted uninstalled philz recovery and locked the bootloader. When i install the update it takes me to fastboot menu and says status modified. There i dont know what to do please help me.

Because you need to flash your original recovery otherwise it's just going to keep getting blocked and I have no idea where to get your original recovery from.. Besides, those updates area aren't that important.
I got an OTA update notification several months ago and wanted to update but realized it won't work as long as I have TWRP Recovery.
Now I decided to install the update. Therefore I flashed a stock recovery (M8_MINI_UL_Stock_Recovery_2.19.401.2.img).
When trying to update, the phone goes to the stock recovery and the update proceeds but after about one quarter of the progress bar, it stops and shows the red exclamation mark (!).
I have stock rom, stock recovery, unlocked bootloader, dt2w kernel.
Do I need to reflash the stock kernel and if so, where can I get it and how can I do it (fastboot flash boot.img?)?
Is it also really required to relock the bootloader in order to succeed in updating and if so, how can I do it?

So far I've tried flashing original kernel, original recovery and relocking but the update still fails.
I also took the firmware.zip included in the OTA and flashed it via h-boot. Seemed to update bootloader, recovery and radio.
Then I rebooted, again got the update notification and tried to install it.
But still the same error. Any ideas?
