I just installed CM 10.1 RC2 on my i9000. Almost perfect, the only annoying thing is that the ringtone volume is too low. Definitely lower than on previous CM9. Any ideas how to increase it?

yeah, ur rite, but still da ringtone cannot beat 2.3 rite?, all i hav to say, u need to bear with it. or use alternative app, but, isnt in mackay or stock 4.2 rc hav da option to enable power sound in setting>sound?

Couldn't find it. As a lot of my friends still have the I9000 (it's gaining popularity as a budget phone), I've flashed a lot of these devices and everyone is complaining about the low ringtone sound. Since CM is the best thing that happened to the I9000 since it was released I just can't bear to watch them struggle with 2.3.
Any solution is OK (custom kernel, update.zip mod etc.), even an app if one exists.

Hi Guys. This is my 1st thread on XDA..
Am having a Samsung Captivate, which was running Froyo 2.2 in it.
I updated it to One Click odin and i got 2.3.5..
I rooted it using this Tutorial Tutorial
Now the Thing is, my CWM is not showing up the Rom that i placed in my SD card..
my ext/sd card is empty in CWM mod..
I tired boogs kernel and other builds of kernel stilll the same issue
Even tried corns kernel
Somehow got it working

THS has been the best and most stable for me of all the ICS ROM's.
I tried slim, icssgs and one of the miui builds. THS wins.

Welcome! Great you're on ICS. I'm on icssgs 4.2, but make sure you make a backup of your efs folder just in case it messes up your IMEI so far so good for me

A lot of people like the glitch kernel but I use Test kernel 2 from the OP. I don't OC or UV so I haven't fooled with glitch. I understand there are other reasons folks like glitch (voodoo sound for one) I just haven't fooled with it. If glitch is working for you, just stick with it.
I think I read somewhere that the boot animation was zoomed in a bit at some point and so doesn't look so clear. Don't know if that is true or not. It never bothered me so I haven't worried about it.
My feeling is that if the only thing you found to complain about is the boot animation it must be a pretty damn good ROM. After all, this is still an alpha build, it is only going to get better.

Got a Problem now..
I got ICS in my Cappy.. Used Icy Glitch kernel for Teamhacksung CM9..
Now the Problem is that, am not getting any Service in my Mobile..
Its detected my Network but not registering in it.. Some time it shows up my Service in the Notification bar and the next sec it shows No Service
Now am on stock 2.3.5 kk4 kernel

latest version cm-7-20120617-NIGHTLY-cooper and i have problem with bluetooth!
when I press the Turn on Bluetooth, the Bluetooth not included and you can try a million times but it will not turn and second problem is this my phone typing and calls though the phone is locked what is the wrong i dont know
so i try many different versions of the latest Cooper but still does not turn on bluetooth
i try all this versions but problem is not resolved

cynogen mod for a time not fix
and i didnt use it again
i use custom rom sgs2 v.9 not bad for me

i recomended stock lite v.7.1
light,fast and stable and than the battery is very saving

Have you tried ICS'ed ROM for a stock-based more ICS-like experience? It should be quite similar to stocklite otherwise...
I'm having a hard time to decide which rom to use, so many great choices!

But my suck... Bluetooth doesn't working.... i tried my best.. But No use.. :-(
But now i found the solution for this Problem.......

Better use Stable-Cooper versions......

Slow down your horses mate, you are very new to developing here, you can't just learn to make roms overnight. There is a full development guide in these foruma, look this up:

Forget the looks for now, get the rom that works best for you, looks can always be changed through themes and layouts.
Learn to use root explorer, that way u can add/remove system apps, libs files, bootanimations, ringtones and many more things.
Root explorer is basic modding, familiarise with that and you will learn to make ur very own roms pretty soon.

I replace the launcher
Holo launcher for ICS looklike. But I prefer golauncher IMHO.
-set as default launcher
-set as system app using TB
-remove the old launcher

Same here, tried Volume+ and Voodo Louder with no luck, maybe HW problem?
tried Volume+ but it is force closing
What rom are you on? I've just upgraded to lrq and the volume is about half that of previous roms.

I was on LR6 earlier and now on LRQ and no issue with vol ever, are you sure your Note isn't faulty?
Did you try reflashing the rom using odin or some custom rom to compare?

Switch to an AOKP ROM and flash this App. save the file on either of your cards. Its called Awesome beats and really does wonders for the sound quality.
I will not be responsible for whatever happens. I do know that the DSP can be flashed onto most CM based AOKP projects. Have flashed it on to diff roms with out a problem. here is the Link to thread

If you want Pure Loud Volume use the Rom with the build in plugin Musicfx.
Be Careful do not harm your Ears.
Its not the Plugin itself it has something to do with the Rom itself.

Hey killer am sorry but i didnt get what you were saying....."pure loud volume" being? personally, the quality of sound using the FX module distorts the sound quality anything over 80% but works wonderfully when used with Awesome Beats V3.
Personally I'd recommend - SpeakerBoost from Googleplay.. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.omegacentauri.SpeakerBoost&hl=en, It's as loud as it gets... and the best of it all, it's for free. Just download and install it and your done. Boost the volume and you're gonna get what you need.
I'm using it for quite sometime already and sometimes when use my phone for calls, It's boosting up my speaker and the headset as well. Sometimes it's get my ears already as the volume get's a bit too loud for my liking...

1.) there will never be an Official update to 404 or 411
2.) unofficial CM9 and CM10 are on its way, but are still extremely unstable and/or buggy. so if you NEED (and i mean really need, not playing around) your phone i do not recommend those to you. if you dont really need your phone (business, etc) and want to have the latest 411 rom, you are free to try them, but beware of some bugs (cam/video, video/youtube, sometimes random reboots and no mobile internet,.....)
Go to SGA Android Development section and look for it.There are a lot of roms which are ICS themed...

I have updated my galaxy ace to android 4.04 through cynomodgen9 but after updation i have prob in playing videos and camera too doesnot work properly,Is there any way to get rid off these problems? In this rom there is no Radio,so is there any app that can be install to full the exact replacement of my previous rom Radio

for now its better if you stick to cm7 based roms... these are stable and almost bug free.. however if you choose cm9 or cm10 you'll have to face daily troubles.. i've tried almost 10 cm9/cm10 based roms but switched back to cm7 as cm9/cm10 are very buggy + unstable !!

Keep calm and wait because our fellow developers are working for us totally free spending their spare time. Not even Samsung, that we've paied, is working to bring us a brand new version of Android. I hope like you to run a CM 9/10/whatever fully working rom as soon as possible but annoying them will not make things going faster.

10.1 is 4.2.2 and 10.2 is 4.3,
There is no "best" rom its preference, i use ParanoidAndroid and Yank555 kernal if thats any help.
Theres a thread in the development area about what roms/kernals etc are out, so it offers quick links and you can pick which you want.

Try flashing Liquid smooth rom. It's based on CM 10.1 and I've been using it for several weeks but haven't found even a single bug yet. Everything's perfect with a lot of customization options.
10.1 has been around a lot longer so if you want a more bug free and stable experience I would go with that. If you just like playing with new things go with 10.2
