[Q] HTC One - Developer Edition - Software Update Issue - 1.29.1540.16 - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am sorry if there has already been a question posted on this, if so please direct me in the right way.
I have the HTC Developer Edition and am currently on Software 1.29.1540.3 and my phone has issued me the update (hurray! I need to fix the dam home and back buttons! so annoying...anyway) When I try to do the update (1.29.1540.16), my phone loads me into my custom recovery (ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.3.1) which then issues begin! Forever is stuck in Run Bug_fix tool. WHY?! WHY?!?!?!?!
I have provided pictures of the steps that my phone goes through so if you can tell me anything about it, please do so thank you!

looks like you are with custome recovery, you need to flash STOCK Recovery for Dev edition and after that you will be able to install OTA.
Here is the link for stock recovery :

Update issue-unable to mount internal sdcard
Hi,
I tried to perform the software update using CWM V6.0.3.0 sadly what I got is "invalid command argument" and "can't mount internal sd card" !!! Please help!

@mikeg818 : you need to flash recovery in Fastboot Mode
@sampagna : you cannot update if you have custom recovery. So first flash stock recovery in fastboot and then do the update ( provided you are on stock ROM)

@x017in: Sorry for the naive question. I still have a lot to learn about android. I have rooted my phone to put down CWM. Now I know that I am having custom recovery, but I am not sure if I am having custom ROM or stock ROM. Custom ROM refers to s.th like Cyanogenmod, right?

Yep. That's what custom Rom means.. so now you need to put back the recovery that came stock with the phone. Only then will the OTA update work

How to flash stcok recovery?
Hey guys, I'm new to android so I was wondering how to flash stock recovery (steps, guide)? and what does it do? Those pictures show exactly what's happening to me.
By the way I bought the htc one developer edition, it was supposed to be new but it came with CWM. So It wont let me install software OTA.

[Q] How do I unroot my phone and get back my initial ROM?

I apologize if this is a repetitive post but I urgently need to know how to get back my first ROM ( unrooted, no cwm or anything ).
Details about my phone :
-Asian? lol I live in a country called Brunei, next to Malaysia.
-When I unboxed it, it was froyo and it had an update to gingerbread so I did it straight away

And about unrooting it, do I just flash one ZIP file which removes superuser or something? Can someone link a guide or something? Thanks in advance!

What is the difference between the Asia_HK rom (assuming it is HongKong) and the Asia_WWE rom ?
I tried installing the Asia_HK rom and I couldn't get any OTA updates (from 2.3.5 to 2.3.7).
Also, I had to change the language from chinese to english. Basically, followed all the steps given in the tutorial, but it just didn't work .
my main aim of going back to stock was for the OTA updates. currently, am back to Virtuous Quattro RC3.

Help needed.
I have unlocked the bootloader via htcdev.com and flashed a recovery and flashed a custom rom.
Now When I tried to restore back to Stock rom(from the backup which i took before flashing new rom), It takes me back to recovery all the time after reboot.
I manually flashed boot.img from the back up folder too.
Still it takes me to recovery all the time. I mean, After restoring, It will just reboot and take me to recovery. Even logo "HTC Quietly Brilliant" wont show up.
My phone is S-ON.
I really need to get back to stock rom.
Please help me.

Are you manually flashing the boot.img file while recovery mode, or are you rebooting into FASTBOOT USB mode and flashing it?
When you restore a backup in recovery mode, the boot partition cannot be written to. You must reboot into FASTBOOT USB using the command:
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
You must copy the boot.img file from you SD card to your PC to run the Fastboot command.

[Q] Update won't install on Stock Rooted with TWRP

HTC Pushed an update to my HTC One Dev Ed tonight..
1.29.1540.16
When it tries to flash the update it just goes into TWRP recovery. No other actions.
I then drilled down to the directory that it downloaded to /data/media/downloads and tried to flash with TWRP.. no dice.
Here is the update.. but honestly I don't know what it does.
any Idea on what is preventing the flash?

You must go back to stock recovery in order for the update to successfully flash on your device.
You don't need the update from HTC, just go and flash the latest revolution 10.2 rom, it is running 4.2.2 and it has some nice performance tweaks. And it isn't modified so it's running sense 5.

For some of us, going to a different ROM is not a viable choice, and frankly a solution to load a different ROM does not answer the original question.
Hi I have the same problem here.
When I try to install stock 4.2.2, the phone reboot & automatically enter TWRP & thus stock update was unable to run.

None of the HTC direct updates will work while TWRP is installed.
you will have to
Fastboot flash (stock recovery .img)
then the updated from HTC works with no problems. pst if you can't find the img

easiest way would be to flash the stock recovery back and get the OTA.

[Q] HTC One Sprint. Stuck in Bootloader

Device: HTC One (Sprint)
Hello All, Following the steps here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265618 I managed to..
Successfully unlock the bootloader.
Successfully install Clockwork recovery mod using the 6.0.3.2 Sprint version.
Installed Android HD 12 from clockwork recovery. Install goes off without a hitch. Phone reboots into bootloader over and over again. I can't get out of it if I try to hit POWER DOWN or REBOOT it keeps going back to bootloader. It also will not let me enter Recovery anymore it just goes back to the bootloader screen. I tried fastboot erase cache, which did not do anything.
Please help!?
Fastboot flash a different recovery and then in recovery you can adb push a ROM file to your SD card.

Maybe try reading the thread. ARHD 12 is not compatible with the sprint One. And don't post in the development section unless you're developing something

Sprint doesn't have the ability to flash any 4.2.2 ROMs so you need something that's either built from source like cm or aokp or need to find a 4.1.2 ROM.

Ah okay. I would then flash a custom recovery. You can access the bootloader correct? What method did you use to install the rom? Clean flash or wipe is when you erase all the phone's system files, leaving a blank slate for a new rom to be installed on, and should be done before installing a brand new rom to avoid any issues.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568662
This is the link to the recovery image I used, it's the latest clockwordmod touch recovery. Very easy to flash as long as you have fast boot setup correctly. Once you have a working recovery you should be able to try a re-flash.

Was the recovery still stock or was a custom one flashed? Which process did you follow to root the phone? Since you can't access the recovery at the moment is suggesting it is stock. A failed rom install shouldn't corrupt recovery

I'm not sure, since you have tried to flash another rom, a factory reset might not solve the issue. Trying shouldn't brick the phone but I can't say for sure, sorry!

Could you send me a link to the rom you flashed? Try downloading a different rom. As you can't boot a ROM your only option may be to use ADB to push a new ROM onto your phone's storage.

It may have been a bad download. There isn't really any reason for it to not work, although it does say on the page it "You need TRWP 2.6.3.3 custom recovery!"
Not to worry, you can flash it in no-time. Ok so just as before, just flash a new recovery (again) and use the latest image from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7/
This should allow you to install the rom as the developers intend. It is strange though, i've never encountered a rom where a specific recovery was needed.
