HTC Watch - trick for unsupported regions ? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
Is there a trick for unsupported regions, enabling HTC Watch to work ?
Thanks.

Just simply choose any region then go through the setup. Then you can add the remote. Just ignore the channel and so on. The remote icon are located on top of the tv app

He is asking about HTC Watch...not the HTC TV Remote app.
I wish there was a way to still watch it in Canada...

You can use More2Locale for this. It will let you add more than one region to your phone. but your phone must be rooted.

3rd party IR remote programs?

Are there any 3rd party IR remote apps that work on the HTC one?
Imagine a TV-B-Gone style app.. automatically cycle through the power off codes :good:
I really like the stock TV app, I just wish you were able to access more buttons than directional arrows, menu and channel.
Subscribed. Looking for one too but no luck so far
Only for TV I think the stock app is enough for me, BUT
I would like to have a remote app wich supports bluetooth (for my PS3.) and IR
That would be really nice! :good:
You can try irdroid.
Haven't gotten my One yet but in theory it might work. It says you'd need the irdroid hardware but they give you the schematics on their site and it looks like a simple ir blaster.

Well the only thing is, and I'm no developer, but I think the program needs to be written specifically to use the HTC one's integrated IR blaster. IR droid seems to work by transmitting a certain signal through the headphone jack, which is then converted into an IR signal
Im working on a TV-B-Gone like app, where the users can scan (learn) codes from a tv remote and upload them with the correct vendor/model tag.
Every other user can acesses the uploaded codes than and will (hopefully) have an universal tv off app.
There will be a rating system, sync code database function etc.
As i am still waiting on my One, i cant test anything IR related. If somebody wants to be alpha tester,
just send a PM and ill contact you when i have something to test(will take a couple of days)

I was looking for one too.. the bundled app, while good, doesnt have all of the devices i would want. I need device profiles for blu ray players, and for media center remotes, so i can control XBMC on my desktop. I already do all of that with my harmony one remote, but you can never have too many options!
Anything the tv app didn't know I just chose no on all the options where it asks did it turn on then manually programmed the phone from a remote no big deal to be honest I know control my lights my fires, xbox, tvs, blu ray player all with the same device

The HTC app doesn't even list Yamaha receivers...that's pathetic.

Yamaha AV Receiver? I've got one of them too, haven't bothered to look it up. Will have a crack at it later on, could be in the generic list.
Not all the models are listed, it's a code system that it runs on, should just be able to find the correct frequency and it should work, but judging from the remote that i've got for my yamaha, i can't see that it's going to work well, there would be quite a few missing buttons.
@lilvfr400boy Just noticed your message there, kind of the same thing i was referring to

Hi,
is there anyone that knows if is it available an update of Sense TV data base? It seems that my phone does not have the codes for Sky decoder.
There is an app here on XDA called One to remote them all
It had an option to go through all remote codes it has

[Q] HTC TV app Dish Network compatible?

Ok so I got the app working properly with my TV but when trying to setup Dish Network I'm having issues. I find a provider called "Dish" and "DishTV" but nothing named "Dish Network"...does this app support Dish Network? Has anybody tried this? I even tried the manual setup of the remote and nothing happens even when the remote is directly pointed to the power button. Any suggestions or help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
-S
Do you have an RF remote or IR? If it's RF only it won't work, you will probably need their app to control over Wifi.

On the back of the remote it says "21.0 IR/UHF Pro" But that being said...this is the 2nd remote which doesn't have to be in the same room as the receiver. Don't know exactly how it works but that could explain it
If it works in a different room definitely not IR. Maybe you can enable in the dish receiver settings?

I just used dish and not dish tv. Works fine. If you use a blue uhf remote instead of the green ir one it will not work.

There's a way to switch the sat box from rf to ir. It's in the menu settings. Directv is the same

Ok so since I'm the 2nd TV on the 2 TV dvr and b/c my receiver is in a different room. I won't be able to use my phone for my room (other than my TV) but I can use it to control the 1st TV/satellite in the same room as the receiver correct?
sorry if that's confusing

Yes this is correct. Your phone must be able to "see" your satellite receiver.

I saw both, pick dish, go slow when doing the testing....I initally had a problem where for some reason the app would not send a "3" correctly to the dvr..so tuning was very problematic...just deleted that setup and started again, did everthing the same just slower..and works great now.
Yes must be in the same room as the DVR, ie Line Of Sight, our phones are IR blasters not RF blasters. so I can only tune my 1st tv, but not the 2nd one as I have a VIP922.
Thanks RevAtB, FYI: It works on Dish VIP 722, not on 722K.

Ok I did it, go and setup the newest MaDoCo Toolkit, it give the option to fix the name in the build prop.. just fix it instantly and then it will show up in the playstore, I just did it and I love the app.. takes some time to setup but it's well worth it

No, because ps3 has no IR built in. You'll need a usb dongle compatible with the ps3. I use the nyko blu-wave receiver with my Harmony remote, I'm sure this will work with that too.

HTC one sharing photo with s4 via nfc

How does nfc work? My mates got. S4 and tried to send me a photo but it just sends me to a dead play store link.
Any tips on how to work with any device?

I use "send!" from the app store which uses nfc to make a wireless connection so you have much better speed. But if you want to use pure nfc just install "Android Beam" and you can send things through nfc to others even if they don't have the app. Under share it will pop up with the app that allows you to send it.

Doh, I guess android beam is now baked in so just let the devices connect and it will auto share the content, as I said I use send!. Here's the official tutorial https://support.htc.com/en-uk/005-HTC_One/0G0/040
The s4 has to have s-beam off and nfc on then it'll work.

From what I have read he closed the project down quite some time ago. There was an alternative being developed but that dev ran out of time/steam and has partially released it on his github (I believe the latest version needs a gui building for it, he was in the process of developing a j-script web interface so that devs could create their own themes/layouts. It was looking very promising)

The TV remote of HTC was updated recently and gives newer features and doesn't require to select tv provider if not available.
It also has most of TV's and receivers I think.
