I just got a topic reply from XDA and lol'd as I've been an Iphone owner now for about 3 months. All I have to say is I'm a happy camper again when it comes to having a cell phone. I had countless issues with multiple Revo's stock and rom'd out. ***** at VZW enough you can get lucky and get out of such a terrible phone. Yeah I lost my 4G (which i had turned off on my Revo to attempt to get 7hrs of battery) but not being a heavy data user it doesnt bother me especially because I get almost 2 days out of my 4s. Not trying to get on an Apple rant but if you simply use your phone as a phone and want it to be reliable it may be worth looking into!
Sorry, but no I'll never purchase iCrap. I have an iPod touch 2nd generation because that was what was cool back in the day and now iPhones are cool and I prefer my Android over iCrap any day. I may lose out on ton of the new games that are out on iOS months sometimes years before Android but that's fine with me since I'd rather have my better performing OS that has new features and aren't behind on features.
They upgraded me to a bionic from the revolution then to the rezound all for free lolv

Definitely not turning this into a debate, I'm just saying if you are having fits with your Revo you can get out of it if you really complain and I'm pretty happy with my iPhone. It never needs rebooted, camera couldnt get much better, battery life is insanely good (charges very fast too), and plugs into my car to play music lol.

Sure but with a Revo....no.. like I said not an android bash thread just saying you can get out of it and I happen to like the choice I made to go to the Iphone.
Too bad the Revo soured you on Android. While the iphone is a well made device I could never put up with the limitations like the tiny screen, no widgets, and no Google navigation.. Just for more battery life. Glad it worked for you though.

I'm with Indy, i just had too many issues with multiple phones. The Revo didnt turn me off to android I just couldnt find a better solution at the time. Its not just the better battery life....the exchange is great as it syncs deletes and read messages! Yes I really miss google nav (cant find a good nav program on apple) The smaller footprint of a phone I prefer as it fits in my pocket when I ride my CBR1000

I personally love my phone. ive got it all tuned out. I think people that say oh the OS sucks havent rooted there phone before. All you need is a phone with an unlocked bootloader and decent hardware and you can root it and make it unreconizable when you compare it to the stock OS. Mine does what i need so if an iphone works for your needs, then there ya go.

thanks dude. I will do that monday then instead of go into the store. cause this phone is pissing me off
So I got my phone yesterday evening at 7pm from the UPS driver and of course it was the latest I had ever received a package!
Anyways, all I have to say is that getting a phone from the "second wave" seems to have been a great thing because I have had ZERO issues at all so far. Right away I looked over the entire phone for any cosmetic defects that have been reported and nothing was found wrong. The screen IMO is amazing and colors look perfect as well. There is NO yellow tint whatsoever and I even had my GF look at it to make sure. Battery is already better than my former Blaze 4G and that's saying something. This phone is definitely a fresh start from the touchwiz ui and made me realize that was really kiddish looking like IOS IMO. The camera takes pictures just fine although I am still trying to figure out all the features on it. The phone got pretty warm on initial start up when all of my apps were being installed from the Play store but after that, normal browsing and such did not make it any warmer than anything i have felt before in other phones. Finally, there is NO buzzing in my earpiece at all, and yes my hearing is good, this again I had my GF check too so I knew I was not crazy.
So honestly, I think that maybe the second wave was produced better or something I really don't know, but I encourage anyone to get this phone if they have been debating because of other peoples "issues". Thanks
That's great to hear. I also ordered a N4 from the second batch and I can't wait for it to be here. Nice review
Mine does rattle. Got it yesterday. But I could care less about that. Loving the phone so far. Just want to be able to order a bumper and get my best skins ever in so I don't worry so much about using it.

Grats on getting your phone; you're gonna love it.
I got mine a week after the initial ordering and my phone is perfect, so I don't know about any second waves or anything like that. There are always going to be phones with manufacturing-related defects; that's why they do exchanges. Don't get hung up on a few people who think their phones are s**t.

I got my 2 Nexus 4's yesterday. The one seems fine, but I have an issue with the 2nd one. During calls, the earpiece buzzes while making sounds. The earpiece does not make any sounds when it is off like a lot of people seem to report. This is strictly a problem during calls and it sounds like the speaker is blown. It does rattle a bit when I'm putting it on a table or whatnot, but that doesn't really bother me.
Called support yesterday, and they were supposed to send me an e-mail with instructions on sending this one back and getting a replacement, but haven't actually received anything from them.
I seem to have some kind of knack for getting bad phones from Google. I had ordered 2 Galaxy Nexus phones when they came out, and ended up getting a replacement for one of the phones because there was dust in the camera. The replacement had the wifi go out, so I had to get that one replaced. The third one actually had a similar buzzing issue with the earpiece but it wasn't as bad, and I was tired of dealing with them at that point, so I lived with it.

I get what you are saying, but he is still literally correct.
I'm sure he could care less, otherwise he wouldn't have an N4. If he cared less:
- he could have not bought the phone
- he could leave it at a bus stop and go on living
- etc. etc.
Now, I'm sure he could care a hell of a lot MORE about it, taking to the internet in fits of rage, driving to Mountain View and knocking on the front door and such. But still, he could also care less.
Just saying.
Received mine yesterday and it has zero flaw. I don't take the mini rattle as one as it comes from the camera (autofocus?) and all the phones I tested since learning that on this forum have it.
For those of you wondering if the bumper is worth 20 euros, it's definitely well made, perfectly fits the look of the phone and prevents the back from direct contact but... well, the phone has a perfect size for my hand and the bumper adds about 0.5 - 0.7 cm in width which makes it awkward to hold. I find myself removing it often when using my phone.
My 2 cents.

Does your phone have touch sensitive issue?
Most people that received the initial batch also had zero issues. It's basically just a couple squeaky wheels that make things seem worse than they actually are.

Edit: you would never believe it from the way it looks but I would say majority of the people who ordered on the 13th got the phone within the 3-5 business day quote. Just as an example.

I don't have any issues whatsoever from the 1st batch. The more you try to look for something to be wrong the higher the chance that something unnoticeable will begin to irritate you lol.
Zero issues with the first batch. But if these phones get better with each batch, imagine the 50th batch!

So I just bought the htc vivid for penny with upgrade as my first full touch screen phone and I am kinda nervous. I use my slide out keyboard on my desire Z for everything and really ever the touch screen. But seeing as companies have stopped making actual keyboard (or almost stopped) I figured for a penny I cant really beat it, to test out a full out touch screen.
So whats the best apps to make this transition better for me? It not my first android and I have purchased HTC since the Tilt came out.
Oh I wont be rooting right of the bat so, dont even try it :victory:

Ya I thought about that phnoe as a refurb on is only 99 cents at ATT but I hate the fact you cant take out the memory or battery. My friend had one the battery died, ATT didnt covered it and HTC wanted a 100 to replace it, when the battery died it took all here data with it as well.

To top it off no insurance.......and no repair shops that either stock the parts as is so new out and if the tear down tests are anything to go by its a pig to even replace a screen! Just my luck.....only one thing I could do which is to get it repaired by htc.
Being shipped off tomorrow and im dredding the email that is going to rob me me of my hard earned ££££.

You need a new LCD. You'll have to buy a combined LCD+digitizer. It'll run around $70-$80. Check phonepartsusa.com. Repair is going to be ridiculously hard, and don't attempt to do so if you lack the proper tools.
I do repairs professionally.
*edit*
Just noticed your pictures aren't even of a One. Good luck. Same thing still applies, however.

K^ That. The digitizer is just the clear layer that registers touches, it doesn't actually display anything, that is solely the LCD panel of which yours is broke. While a digitizer is always cheap it's usually good practice to buy a combo just because of what a pain it is to replace JUST the digitizer.
But, that doesn't even matter because your screen is broke.and you need a new LCD. If you want to risk replacing it for this phone, God speed. It's notoriously impossible to tinker in.
EDIT: oohhh, you have an EVO 3D, Not a One, much easier to tinker in and I've actually done it a few times without issue but the screen might be more expensive since its a 3D panel. You'd be better off just replacing the phone then, honestly.

Was gonna say the same thing. I don't repair these professionally, but do it often for friends and co-workers. I'm having trouble figuring out what kind of device that is; It isn't a ONE, an EVO 4G LTE, or 1x, so I can't get you a price quote. But, I do know that these days, the screen assembly is one piece; it is possible to get a digitizer by itself, I suppose, but taking the device apart will be difficult enough without trying to remove the screen from the rest of the assembly. To me, it looks like an entire replacement is needed anyway. Long story short, probably be easier to get a new device, like the other guys said.....
Is that an EVO 3D? Oh god, the memories. I'm agreeing with others that it'd be easier to just get a new phone. However, if you really wanna try and replace it, this will be what you need.
