When Resetting the HTC One i get the option to restore from my HTC account... But in the Backup & Restore setting i can choose Google...
So for the past 5 days i've had Google as my Sync provider instead of HTC...
how do i restore from Google ???
I can't choose Google when booting up the phone for the first time
EDIT:
i found out... i had to choose "Start from scratch" .. then after selecting my Google account, the phone asks to restore my from google
Yes, or when you are setupping your phone, do the logon with your account and reboot the phone

i forgot the google account so i cant get in to my phone
is there a way in
is it possiable to reset the phone
you don't really need a google account to get into the phone
but if you want your contacts and android market stuff, then you can go to google website and reset your password if you have forgotten the password
Thread moved to Q&A.
So no matter what ROM I flash I start setting up, select my language connect to WiFi and then I get This Device was reset blah blah I sign in to my Google account, the only one that has ever been used on this phone and it sends me right back with a toast pop-up that says Please Sign Into One of the Owners Accounts.
I've not changed my password or anything I just want to flash a new ROM, tried Pure and Chroma and both do this. Bout to toss it out the window.
are you using up-to-date gapps/the ones that the rom recommends? An out of date/incompatible "setup wizard" can cause this.
I've used the recommended Gapps with both ROMs
Enabling OEM unlock in Developer options stops this behavior. But, you have to get Android fully working first.
EDIT: I always forget this. Go into your account on the PC and remove the device from it using the Android Device Manager. That should eliminate your sign in problem, though it will also likely delete any backups Google made of your apps and settings.
Hello Everyone, i'm sure you know this message... I jast can't pass it, drives me crazy! (This device was reset to continue, sign in with a Google account previously synced on this device)
The story:
I just bought a used Mi5, installed CM13 + GAps, and this message appeared when i tried to start the phone for first time (initial setup).
So, the previous owner didn't remove his google account, to use the phone, i first has to login with his account. OK.
(NOTE:he tried to login to google devices / security page, and remove the phone from there, he couldn't
What i did:
I called the previous owner, and asked for his password.
He provided me, but since he was using his G-passwords other places as well, changed it to a temporary, and gave that to me.
Tried to login with HIS Google Account, then the message changed: "sorry, due to the reason, that the password changed recently, you can't login to this device" ...OUCH
OK... I thought, i put MIui 8 Global back, and try it from there.
Installed Stock firmware Mi8 started with the initial setup, logged into google with the previous owner account, WORKED!
Went to settings, removed the previous owner account,
reboot,
Did a factory reset.
Started MI again, added my google account,
reboot.
Install CM13 + Gaps.
THE MESSAGE IS STILL THERE (This device was reset to continue, sign in with a Google account previously synced on this device), can't login to the phone.
So after installing CM13 google still dedects the phone with as it's connected to the previous owner. I'm really clueless here.
IS there any solution for this? HELP ME PLEASE (screaming out loud)

I think before doing factory reset, you should login to your own google acc.
If you will use cm13, wipe everything and flash rom and reboot, wait for home screen to show up and then flash gapps... The point is flash the gapps after first boot.

I'm not sure about that, i mean, the posts are usually saying, that remove the account, then do the factory reset, but it may worth a shot, if it works, i will report back here.
I really don't know why i didn't think of that

But of course, that was the solution, everything works perfectly.
Thanks, can be closed.
For MI Max 2 i had reset the phone and forgot my Microsoft account password and also recovery option also not available, how can i proceed, please help me to resolve this. after adding new mail id error message is coming like 'This device was reset to continue, sign in with a Google account previously synced on this device'.
is thr other way to log in to phone, please help me to unlock device.
Hi all,
This is my first post so if something is wrong please let me know.
So a few months ago I wanted to root my HTC Desire 626 but struggled due to KingRoot not supporting my phone, and there not being many guides online. I unlocked my bootloader via HTCDev and eventually gave up on the rest of it (I'm a Windows guy!).
2 days ago I installed CM Launcher 3D Pro (which I paid around $5 for on Google Play). After noticing the app was using too much CPU I removed the app and went back to my original Sense Home launcher. Later that day my battery died and when I charged the device and switched it back on everything went very bad, very quickly.
I had constant "xxxxx has stopped working unexpectedly" errors which mainly related to Google apps, such as Google Play, Calendar etc. I downloaded as many Google APKs as I could find for the apps that were throwing errors and copied them to install to my device manually. This seemed to fix a lot of the problems and I no longer get any error dialogs show up on the phone.
However now Google Play will not load (at all, it just has a white screen). Google Maps doesn't load either, and I get a constant notification telling me to update Google Play Services, with a side note saying Google Play Services won't run unless I update to the latest version. That would be fine if I could actually get to Google Play to update the thing As I said Google Play will not load up at all. Hence now I can't install anything from the play store (using the browser version to send the app to my device doesn't work either).
I've tried running recovery both via entering the bootloader and using Settings > Backup and reset > Reset phone and nothing works. Using settings doesn't respond when I tap OK, it just goes back to the previous screen, and using the bootloader just hangs on the HTC splash logo until I perform a hard reboot (holding the power button for 30 seconds).
Also Google Sync doesn't work, and when I try to remove my Google account or add a new account it doesn't work either.
What I need is a way to return to stock, the RUU files for my particular device via HTC don't work either, and in bootloader mode I don't see any options (either via fastboot or HBoot) to install a rom from a zip file, so I can't grab the rom zip file from a RUU by copying it from the temp directory on Windows. The reason I think the RUU files don't work is because my phone doesn't have a particular provider. I purchased the phone from Littlewoods here in the UK which was sim free (unlocked).
Is there anyone who has a stock rom and a way I can install it via ADB or Fastboot? I know I can flash the recovery via Fastboot with "fastboot flash recovery myfile.img" but when I try that with any recovery file the recovery still just hangs when I try to use it.
Any help is appreciated (before I take a hammer to it or use it as a YouTube experiment with liquid nitrogen or something).
Thanks in advance.

First Of all I want to thank you all for helping me out.
So it was google that updated their Google Account Manager apk so you can't login in this way In order to make your device "thinking" that this is the last account that was synced with the device.
and I realized that I should get some older version of GoogleAccountManager In order to fake the frp lock but the current version is blocking any older installation of it. In my case GoogleAccountManager 7.0.24 blocked the installation of GoogleAccountManager 6.0.XX(think it was 23).
So I decided to go a little rough on it and Downgraded the whole device Android Version (found a stock 5.1.1 for t817A model) In order to force the GoogleAccountManager application to downgrade also.
Some people complained that the FRP blocks their try to change android version but it wasn't my problem so I don't know how to help here.
after the downgrade I was able by using QuickShourcutMaker then opening GoogleAccountManager to login my account (many tutorials around the web), restarted the phone and TADAM, works like charm
My dad bought me a used one for the New Year (as I wished) and unfortunately it is FRP lock.
SO I've searched on how to disable this lock and I found I'm able to open google chrome settings but with no success further.
I've seen people enabling USB debugging then some how disabling that lock but I think google blocked my access to developer options so I think I'm pretty stuck ..
also, I have the option to send it back to the store overseas but I would like to try saving some time and unlocking it by myself so any ideas guys?

Does it allow internet access if you type browser?
Or try typing accounts.
The goal is to enable another account on the device.

Search for an app called QuickShirtcutMaker. Download, install and run it.
Type ACCOUNT in the search field. Look for SETTINGS(add an account) then tap Try.
Create a Google account then log into it.
If it creates the account then you should be able to use the new account to bypass the GOOGLE login.
Reboot first.

Ok, so it seems like my Google Account Manager is 7.0.24 version, and it disallows me to add a google account through QuickShortcutMaker.
Many site's are telling to Reinstall to older versions of GoogleAccountManager but when I try to install any older version that I found it says "The package appears to be corrupt".
Now im feeling stuck agein but thank for the fast answers 'till now :good:
