strange thing..
if i set "keep wifi in sleep" to never it just stays on.
i got cpuspy to see if it really goes into deep sleep but the wifi just stays on.
i know i had this problem with customrom JB on my LG optimus black but now i have official JB on my XT and got the same problem here.
i need to install a app to control the wifi like i want it too..
(i always set wifi to disconnect when the phone enters deep sleep, my experience tels me that 2g data drains less battery then wifi)
however i didn't really test drain level of wifi/2g data on my XT.

Hi,
I have flashed my N1 with CM6.1.1 around 2 weeks ago. I'm really satisfied with this ROM.
However, I have noticed my Wi-Fi has gone a little bit weird after flashing CM. Regardless of the Wi-Fi sleep policy setting, my N1 won't turn off the Wi-Fi after it's locked. When I unlock my N1, I can watch the wi-fi icon disappear and then re-appear after a few seconds.
Now I have to manually turn off the Wi-Fi before locking my N1 to conserve the battery. Does anyone know how to get rid of this bug?
Thanks.
i will give you one tip which is its better to leave wifi ON when your phone goes to sleep because it's much better for battery life. if you let wifi turn off during sleep, the phone switches to 3g data which drains far more battery than leaving it on wifi.
now about the disconnect issue, i'm not quite sure what you're seeing. i have a problem with cyanogen 6 where my wifi disconnects for about 3 seconds, and this happens about every 10 minutes or so. its very annoying. but when my phone goes to sleep, i wake it up and still see wifi connected. so no issues there for me.
Wildmonk has some kernel just to address the WiFi issues.
I suggest WM kernel with CM ROM anyway
The problem occurs randomly. Sometimes my phone "knows" it should turn the wi-fi off when it's locked. But most of the time it doesn't...
I think I will live with it.
Anyway. Thanks for the reply.
My WiFi still disconnects every few minutes, then re connects again. It drives me nuts. Cyanogen 6.0
to momomok,
I think you have misunderstood the word "sleep" for Wifi, here sleep means when you are not using your phone the Wifi will turn off temporarily instead of infinitely. It's more like a nap. As you unlock the phone, Wifi will get awake. That's why you will see it re-appear after a few seconds.
Hi
The wifi on my galaxy s is draining my battery at an alarming rate.
With wifi on it drained about 30% in 5 hours ,if i turn wifi off it uses about 2% in 5 hours.
I have noticed that if i go into settings/wireless and network/wifi settings/and turn on wifi and also turn off network notifications it still says it is scanning very few seconds where the wifi networks bar is at the bottom of the menu.
I think that this scanning is whats causing the battery drain,so how can i stop the scanning ?,it is already connected to my wifi network at home,so it shouldnt be scanning if i have network notifications disabled..should it ? thanks
I've the same problem
Get a custom Rom not a really big difference, but still ! It is Wifi !!!
Download JuiceDefender, was great until I installed MIUI v4.3, now I've no use for it.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Juice Defender Plus worked for me..thanks

Did you saved changes when you changed the wifi to be off when screen is off?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Yes i saved the settings
I tried this on Kk2 and LA4
And same result not working
same for me with Cassie's Xtra lite and Franco kernel V5. Then as advised, i use now green power to switch off/on automatically wifi and datas connexions.. better than nothing.
I use Llama to do this. It does exactly what I want, shuts down WiFi 1 minute after I turn the screen off unless charging on mains, turns it back on on open, but only if I am at home or work.
That gives me everything I want (I have some apps that only sync when charging to save battery).
Anyone have any issues with Smart Actions and Wifi? I am running ICS .232. Recently i've been noticing my battery draining and my system is telling me that my Wifi has been on for 7 hours. I check the Wifi settings and it's set to off. I turned it on and off to be safe. The only thing I can think of was Smart actions not shutting it off as it states it was. I just removed the rule to turn wifi off and on depending on my location. It's suppose to turn off wifi while at work to conserve battery but it seems to be draining my battery instead. I just checked it now and the solid bar is short at the end indicating it is no longer on. Wondering if anyone has the same issue? BTW I've been at work for the past 8 hours so Wifi should have been off. Location is flaky in my area even with GPS as there is a dead spot close by. I work out in the country..
Is this issue only on my device or its some sort of bug on ?
WiFi in settings is completley turned off, scanning always available is turned off, keep awake is set to never, gps is set to use only gps to determine positions..so every options of wifi is turned off, but still in battery paragraph show that wifi is almost always turned on (see picture) even when device is turned off in baterry paragraph u can see that wifi is turned on
Here is screenshoot
Solved by going back to 4.4.4 kk,
Sony definitely need to fix LP, to many bugs compared to kk.
battery life is terrible, slow charging time, wifi has some problem, force closing apps (probably google fault ), sound is worse, strange wakelock,..
Of course this is my opinion of Lollipo- and i tried clean install, withouth root, with root...and every time same for me.. so il be waiting for fixed version of lollipop by Sony, maybe 5.1
