[Q] [Brick]Unable to find solution througout the forums - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to install CM9 on Galaxy Tab P1000L as follows:
-Downloaded Heimdall and the Clockworkmod recovery, but got stuck 'cause heimdall wouldn't finish installing. http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_p1l
-Then, I searched and found the patch for bootloader( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888071 ) , but after that my tab got stuck at the SAMSUNG logo; I couldn't even boot on recovery mode, only download mode.
-I tried Odin, but was having problems with the libusb drivers, so I uninstalled them, and then my pc recognized my tab in download mode. Then I flashed stock ROM but after Odin finished flashing, my tab rebooted and the screen wouldn't turn on. The buttons even lit up and the tab played a sound but that was its last sign of life.
Now, when I plug the tablet, it still appears on Odin, but when I try flashing anything it says " Can't open the serial(COM) port." I'm using Windows 7 x64, I have SDK, heimdall, odin, stock & cyanogen ROMs, overcome kernel. I'm not sure if it's bricked or not, 'cause I still can see it on ODIN.
Sorry for bothering u guys, but I read so many threads that I got lost. Pls, save me!!

[Q] Tab not recognized in download mode, Odin, Kies, upload mode not working....

Seems like my Tab P1000 is major f**k**!
I've had issues with the tab showing up in Odin from day one...Does not show up.
Managed to get the tab rooted thru One Click Root.
Tried to get CWM but couldn't find it anywhere for P1000.
Downloaded and installed Mobile oding to try flashing Overcome.
Put all the files into Mobile Odin, and started flashing.
This was when things went sour...
The flashing just stopped for several hours at the Samsung Logo screen, after 5 hours i just turned the whole tab off holding PWR button.
Tried to go into upload mode, but that didn't work, got "Power reset or unknown upload mode". The tab goes into Download mode, but displays as "Unknown Device" in Device manager in Windows7 (I am running 64bit). I have tried to install the Samsung USB drivers, still does not detect the tab. Tab is not detected by Kies, Odin or Heimdall at all. Displays as Unknown Device in Zadig, and the driver is not possible to install. I think I have read through all the posts available regarding this subject, but not sure. I hope there is a way of fixing this without disassembling the Tab.
I purchased the Tab from a colleague, and he had installed the 2.3.3 firmware on it. He said he got Odin working and that was how he put 2.3.3 in. Could this be the source of the problem??
It got nothing to do with your colleague flashing 2.3.3 using odin.
I use Odin all the time, but never have actually tried Mobile Odin.
But I suspect the actual problem was, your G-tab was not properly rooted.
After you tried rooting your G-tab, did you tested it with Titanium backup or with any apps requiring root access?
Installing custom rom requires root access, otherwise it will fail in the middle because of write access failure.
Unrecognized by Windows 7... As many posts state, you need to connect to kies at least once before going to download mode so that your g-tab could be detected by Windows.
You may try this solution:
Start Odin on your computer, connect your g-tab and while connected to the computer, reboot your g-tab again to download mode. Do this three to five times, and see if Odin can detect it.

[Q] Phone won't boot after using KJ4 instead of KK1 while installing CF-Root

In order to root my Note to install ICS, I used the CF-Root 5.3 thread but made a mistake...
I put the KJ4 zimage into the InitialCFRootFlasher zimage folder instead of the KK1 zimage.
At the end of the installation, my note rebooted as it was supposed to, but after the Samgung logo I only have a black screen.
If can start in CWM Recovery but not in Download mode (black screen too).
If I connect it to my win7 laptop I can hear the windows sound and in Odin, it there's a connected port.
Tried many things but don't really know what to do and I'd rather not getting things worst.
I search for a thread explaining how to solve that issue but couldn't find one.
After many tries I successfully managed to have my phone in Download mode. But now, I don't know what to do.

[Q] CM10 Stuck at bootloop, can't enter recovery, and computer doesn't detect

So I've seen a lot of threads on here with this kind of problem but none of the solutions work for me.
I just flashed CyanogenMod 10 nightly, was tinkering around on it, rebooted and I was just stuck in a bootloop. I can't get into recovery but I can get into download mode. However, my computer just doesn't detect the phone at all. I can't get Odin to detect it to flash a new bootloader or anything. I've tried installing Nexus drivers and everything. It just doesn't even detect that anything has been plugged into the computer. But the usb powers on the phone. If I plug into power I just get a spinny loading wheel that doesn't move and refreshed every few seconds.
I'm stuck. I can't get into recovery to flash, and I can't get my computer to detect it to flash. Help me please?
EDIT:
Okay so tried 3 different USB cables and I've found one that works. I tried flashing a new bootloader but I used the bootloader bit on Odin instead of pda (total noob mistake) now my screen is just black and won't turn on. I can get into download mode to flash stuff again. But what do I need to put in the bootloader section to get it back to normal?
I think you have to start from Gingerbread again
Search on samifirmware a 3 files firmware of Android 2.3.6
After that search on google a Step by Step guide how to flash a Rom with Odin.
I think after that i should work.

Nothing. Never put anything in the bootloader section. Instead, look for a rom that has bootloader in it. I believe that the darky resurrection rom has bootloader.

I had the same issue with cm-10-20121125-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd (after with cm-10-20121126-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd as well!),
symptoms: after automatic install of mentioned version the phone rebooted, but I've got stuck in bootlop, and I couldn't enter in Recovery Mode, just in Download Mode.
I've managed to fix it in the following way:
1. I've downloaded the Semaphore kernel for JB (Semaphore ver. 2.6.0), and unpacked it.
2. I've used heimdall: `heimdall flash --kernel zImage`
3. After that the phone boots and CM finishes the upgrade as usual. (I've did not lost anything from my data.)
(Environment data: OS: Ubuntu 12.04, Heimdall 1.3.2)

Thank you very much for the information!
I was thinking I did something wrong... :crying:
Update:
The newer versions cm-10-20121129-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd & cm-10-20121130-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd are OK again.
With kind regards

[Q] I9000 boot loop - can't enter recovery & Odin doesn't see phone in download mode

[Q] I9000 boot loop - can't enter recovery & Odin doesn't see phone in download mode
Back in December i installed CM10 stable on my i9000. It had been running perfectly until yesterday, when, after attempting to charge dead battery, phone got stuck in a boot loop. Luckily i have a spare battery (with at least some juice left!), but the phone will neither enter recovery mode nor be recognised by Odin in download mode. When plugging in the USB (in download mode), the pc appears to install the drivers but Odin still won't work. [My plan had been to reflash CM10]
I'm not too bothered about which ROM i put on the phone - i just need to bring it back from the dead !
I've read various things about Heimdal and Semaphore, but it all seems rather complicated. Therefore any advice as to how best to proceed would be much appreciated.
Have you tried manually installing the drivers?
There's a thread in the I9000 Themes and Apps area with drivers.

Cheers, that got Odin to recognise it. Odin flashed with Darkyrom 10.2 Resurrection and it's up and running. Now i just need to find a new stable JB rom !

Hard (?) Brick on S5830

Hi! I installed a Custom ROM 1 year ago or so and after a few attempts to unbrick my phone I gave up. Now I want to try it again and here are the things that I've tried:
First of all, the ROM was not installed in a wrong way (I've successfully installed other ROMs with the same method - no rom manager -), but I think that the creator did not specify that the ROM was not for S5830, and that might be the brick's cause. I've tried to boot the phone, but it does not do anything at all (the battery is charged, I even tried with another battery). I've downloaded Odin (different versions, in fact), and did the following sequence (1. Connect the phone, 2. Press down power+volume down+home for 10 seconds + plug the battery without letting the buttons unpressed, 3. Run Odin as administrator) but the COM Port does NOT even recognise it...
Any ideas? Thanks!
I feel your pain . .I did something similar a while ago. .
If you flashed an incorrect rom using odin, your in deep dogy do do..
but if you flashed from recovery with cwm then with luck your Ace should be recoverable.
sometimes it requires persistance to get Ace into "download" mode.
edit: also try a different cable.
Try ODIN Multi-Downloader v4.38 for Galaxy Ace(S5830)
and official firmware from SamMobile GT-S5830
Then in odin select ops cooper v1.0.ops and select file(.tar.md5) and select all options except debug only
click start
