[Q] need to fix my phone - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently rooted my HTC one and a week later my top speaker crackles. I need to send it to Telstra but I need to remove the root. I've looked all over the place and I can't seem to find a ruu or even a nandroid. If some one could point me in the direction it will be greatly appreciated. Also will a nandroid work to unroot? Or do I need a ruu?

You can find the stock ruu at this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752

A nandroid of the original ROM will suffice, especially if you booted the bootloader and took the backup rather than flashing it.
If not, most bootloaders of the same primary version are equivalent.
What was your original software version?
fastboot getvar version-main
Or is that main-version?

Sorry I'm still kinda new to all of this. I used a recovery to root the phone ( team win) but I made the stupid mistake of not making a nandroid before hand. I need to make it look like I never rooted this phone so HTC can replace it. If I can't find something I might just "drop" it in water since I have insurance.

The boot loader will say re-locked even if you flash your RUU, isn't that correct?

It depends if you're lucky or unlucky. I've heard of some that get their warranties applied, but also some where they got rejected. No harm trying, you'll get your phone back anyway

Link to PH39IMG.zip?

For warranty purposes, I need to return an HTC Vivid to stock. However, after running the RUU, the bootloader status still shows it as "re locked". Supposedly, instead of running the RUU, if you use the PH39IMG.zip file, the bootloader will display "locked". I'm not sure how much this will matter for warranty purposes, but I'd like to be safe. However, the link to the PH39IMG.zip file in the superguide is broken, and has been for a while. I've searched all over the internet for one and I have not been able to find another. Does anyone either have the file, or can confirm for me that "re locked" is okay for warranty purposes?
I found 3 PH39IMG.zip files posted on random hosting sites as potentials.
Can anyone confirm for me if any of these 3 would work? I don't care if it's ICS or Gingerbread, I just want to return the phone to stock.
http://d-h.st/yPN this one looks promising...as it says GB unroot Stock. I just need to know if it's for the AT&T version of the Vivid

http://www.fileswap.com/share/index.php?id=0y1AzkdVRr this also looks possibly promising
Can someone check these out or link to a proper file? Thanks.

How different is using this ZIP from running the stock RUU and flashing via USB? I would say an RUU flash is pretty darn stock (all it would require you to do first is re-lock your bootloader, if you had unlocked it).

The RUU works but keeps the bootloader status as "Re Locked" instead of "locked" .. I have been told flashing the zip resets this as well.

After running the RUU, you should be able to use the utility in this thread to change the text of your bootloader:

Hope that helps.

Removing Root from HTC One on O2 UK Carrier

Hi,
I don't think this is in the right place but i am unable to post under the developers area for assistance and everyone has told me this is the best place to get some help.
I am looking to get rid of my root for my HTC One on an O2 network and I think i need to get the boot loader locked which i can do then run a RUU file that matches my phone. The RUU's i have run seem to be the wrong ones and i am at a loss to which one i should be using, when i go through the steps it says that my version is 1.27.206.1 does this mean i need to find the version that is O2 and 1.27.206.1 for it to work?
I have also tried an OTA but this just stops at the boot loader screen and i think this is because some of the stock apps are wipe. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the very quick response, ok that narrows it down quite a bit, would you happen to know which RUU i would be looking for when it does come out? will it be a specific O2 RUU for the version 1.27.206.1? Also where would i check for it once its released?
Is their anyway around the OTA update to remove the Root atm?

You would need an ruu that has the same software or newer than yours. The key bit would be the .206 section. There is an RUU thread here. You could flash one of the stock nandroid backups in the RUU thread. Add the apps back. There is a .zip somewhere then remove the stock recovery and flash the ota.

I would but I'm on my phone using tapatalk so I can't really at the moment sorry. The ruu thread is on this part of the forum though. And the other bit should be in the dev section.
Ok, no worries, i have downloaded the UK Nandroid rom and flashed it to my device but i still have everything on my phone like games that i had before flashing it which is a little odd.
i have also found the stock apps from a post on here like you said and have them all installed on the phone. Could someone explain the next steps please,
why dont you just use the unroot in the superuser apps? SuperSU has the option.
also solloris
Hi, i have tried this option but when the phone reboots the application is back and the bootloader is still showing as Tampered.

anypne using BELL HTC one?

hi.
I was using HTC One with Android Revolution and I would like to go back to stock.
unfortunately I have lost my nandroid and radio back ups (updated radio to latest one)
I was able to get nandroid backup from xda (thank you)
and restore it. however when I try to OTA update or factory reset it says security warning in bootloader
researching through google I realized that updated radio prevents me from doing OTA update and factory reset.
Is it possible to get a radio back up for bell or does anyone know how to make it work?
Thank you!

I also have a Bell I find a backup of the Rom the Bell.

Maybe reflash the bootloader with fastboot it Will Be removed warning but I'm not sure but there is no danger.

Tried replacing downloader recoveries etc still no luck and I have come to conclusion that the radio might be the problem.

[Q] Ending call at 00:00.

Hi,
I am unable to make/receive calls and can't send/receive SMS text messages.
WiFi and data over 3G works fine, so email/browsing is OK.
I have tried SIM cards from other working phones but it's the same problem on this phone.
Used to work fine couple of days ago but now when I try to make a call to someone it says straight away call ended.
Has anyone encountered the same problem? Can anybody help please?
Info:
My phone is HTC One (M7)
Used to be rooted, in my attempt to resolve the problem I have unrooted it and now has stock android, which i flashed on.
The only thing that is different is that my phone is s-off.
I have done a factory reset but this did not fix it.
For some reason, when i try to update my phone over ota, I get a red triangle with a !.
My phone version is 3.62.401.1.
It is Android 4.3. Not 4.4 kitkat.
I can use wifi, and have 3G/H signal.
That's about it. If anybody can help me with this problem, please do! Thanks in advance.

Did you flash anything that could have caused this problem? I assume you have flashed a RUU that contained firmware?
If I were you, I'd try to get the original firmware back onto the phone, then install a "known good" ROM so you know the system isn't screwed up somehow.

I mean a popular third party ROM that most people can use without problems. ARHD, for example. But now that I think about it, if you successfully installed a RUU and did a factory reset, I agree with the other person that said it sounds like a hardware defect. I've had this problem on another phone and it was the firmware and RIL (a problem that only exists for Samsung), but if you flashed a RUU it should have sorted that out.
If you can get warranty service for this phone, try it. This is one of those cases where you should revert the phone to stock, though, because the most obvious answer to why a rooted phone doesn't have calls is "you screwed up the software/firmware".

So my phone is broken?

Returning Back to Stock With Previously Saved Backup

Hi Guys,
Im in a spot of bother and am hoping for some advice. I have an HTC One m7 and about two weeks ago its wifi started acting up where it would get stuck on turning on and not work. I searched this problem up and most people who had it ended up sending their phone in for warranty repair. I figured that i would try a custom rom and see if that fixed my problem. So i unlocked my bootloader, rooted and flashed a custom rom. The problem went away for a bit but now its back, so I want to revert back to completely stock so that i can send it under warranty claim.
Problem is that I cant find an RUU file for my phone(CID GLOBA001); network provider is WIND (operated by Globalive). However I did make a backup of my stock ROM using TWRP before flashing the custom one. So if i restore that backup, all i have to do is get stock recovery&lock bootloader and I should be good for sending it under warranty? Or will I have to separately get other stuff back to stock such as kernel. P.S my phone is S-On
I Just want to make sure before doing anything because I am pretty new to this stuff.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The problem is with my wifi, so i just want to get that solved. From what ive read from other people who had the same problem as me, they all got replacement phones when using warranty claim since the problem wasnt fixable. I plan on just going to the carrier's store and getting it fixed/replaced through them since theyll lend me a temp phone while mines gone.
So even if i have a custom kernel, sending it in shouldnt be a problem?

From what ive read from other people who had the same problem as me, they all got replacement phones when using warranty claim since the problem wasnt fixable. I plan on just going to the carrier's store and getting it fixed/replaced through them since theyll lend me a temp phone while mines gone.
So even if i have a custom kernel, sending it in shouldnt be a problem?

Perfect, Thanks. Just one last thing, for getting stock recovery do i have to be wary of compatibility with my device like with firmwares or is that not the case with stock recovery?

you need the same version that matches your firmware
if you have 6.x firmware find a 6.x stock recovery for your phone
