I have tried every hard reset mode. ( vol key + power, vol key down + power etc etc ). I can see only two prompts on screen.."first with green android sign and saying downloading targeting, do not turn off "or " ram dump mode cause force upload"
Tried various ways but only these things happening.

Expecting expert advices.

RAM DUMP & Download Mode is else, you don't need them now (yet). Try to boot to recovery (vol up+power) and try to wipe cache & dalvik cache, and then try to boot the phone

you tried ramdump mode and download mode, to get in recovery you have to use volume up + power, without home button. try to get in recovery and factory reset
EDIT: you have to keep pressed the combo i said for a couple of second after the samsung logo apper, then you will se an android out of a box, it is time to touch menu key once, you will see screen change brightness, if so you are getting in recovery mode

Hi,
I had this problem a few weeks ago, and the only thing that helped was flashing stock rom with odin. After that everything works fine.

vol up + home + on/off

in recovery try:
wipe data/factory reset
this will wipe your data so if you can get it working some other way and/or dont want to loose your data dont do it
You're more lucky, you can easly flash it correctly trough odin and/or cwm/recovery.
Somtimes you'll need a adb trick getting into downloadmode if it aint working with connecting it to ODIN without kies, having a CMD open typing from the folder "adb reboot recovery" en hit enter/return when the the COM port is flashing yellow in ODIN.
What stage of flashing from Odin did this happen? It should go into download mode. Try disconnecting power and battery and waiting a few minutes. If you cant do that, return the phone. If they wont replace the phone, there is a way of forcing the phone into download mode using the following
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
If you do get to download mode, reflash to a stock Eclair following the instructions carefully

[Q] DOFT or Semi Bricked phone, Download mode possible.

Hey folks, yesterday i accidentally flashed a theme that didnt go well with my rom and now I am stuck on the bootscreen "Samsung Galaxy S" Logo....
anyways, my laptop recognizes the phone and I can also get into the download mode,
what are my options from here?
I need some kind of program like odin right?
- Also semi-flashing-noob here -
any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!
dont panic its no problem.
many of us get boot loops when flashing themes. do you have recovery mode ??
if so, try to flash the theme again, but before rebooting, wipe cache / dalvik cache and see if it boots then.
if not just do a factory reset. that should clear it up.
ODIN should be a last resort, sometimes it is not necessary to use.
thanks for the quick reply,
how do i get into recovery mode? the 3 button combo was volume up + home + power right?
cause i tried various combinations and could only get into the "Download mode"
yes volume up is recovery, volume down is download mode.
if recovery dont work, then you will need to use odin.
you will lose all your data so i hope you made a backup
there is a reset button under the back cover, in the middle of the camera and the speaker. this may fix your problem, but i have never tried it.

[Q] MIUI 2.3.4 for Galaxy S Gone wrong

Hi All - while in the process upgrading from the previous version of MIUI to this latest one, I accidentally selected the 'restart system option after formatting the system, cache and data without flushing the new ROM and now the phone won't boot up. It goes to the main Galaxy S screen followed by Galaxy S Glitch screen then it runs some coding (in seconds so i don't know what is says) and then back to main Galaxy screen in a loop.
What I have tried
> Going to recovery mode with vol up + home + power button (released @ first Samsung Screen) but then it goes back to second Galaxy S Glitch screen in the same loop.
> Going to download mode with vol down + home + power button and it does the same as going into recovery mode.
> Tried to do go into recovery and download mode multiple times using different combinations of vol up, vol down, home and power button without success.
> Read through the threads here but I was not able to find anything with the same or similar problem problem
> I tried to follow the help provided by Thyrador on this forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109110 with Odin except using the jig method and no go
> Connecting phone to ODIN keeps on going rebooting in the phone in a loop as well.
I know if I can go into recovery mode I will be able to flush the new ROM but getting there is the problem.
I would appreciate your help with this and hope there is a fixable solution.

I have done that a few times and both CWM and download mode should be there.
Make sure everytime you try the 3 buttons you actually remove the battery before trying.
K.
Edit: the coding you are talking about is CWM trying something and that's shy I think it is still there.
Did you just format system?

Thanks for your response
I actually formatted the system, data and cache without flushing the new ROM.
I tried what you said about removing the battery but that didn't show anything on the screen when I tried the 3 buttons. Is that what you meant?
cheers

What I meant was a bit dumb as since you have a bootoop you would have removed the battery anyway each time to try.
I normally flash the same way like you and I always do a factory reset (which formats Data and cache and I do the system manually. Unless soemthing has gone seriously wrong I don't see why you would not be able to get back to recovery?
I have even done it today actually and managed to go back to recovery.
I would say try and boot into download mode. Did you use Download Mode in the past? Are you sure it is there?
I read somewhere else someone saying that it does not always work the first time. Give it a few tries.
Your last option would be the JIG obviously but hopefully you should be able to get it sorted without.
K.
To tell you the truth I always use an app to boot the phone into recovery or download mode however one of my work colleagues has always being able to reboot my phone into any of these modes using the three buttons - not sure how. I will continue to try anyway.
Thanks again for your response and for give me hope that this has happened to you in the past.
cheers

[Q] It's possible to unbrick?

I made a grave error:
Cyanogen installed and noticed that the speaker phone did not work, I went into recovery mode and tried to restore a backup, but gave error .. inadvertently restarted the phone and now he is on screen Galaxy S GT-I9000 wonder if there is any hope of saving my phone. Thank you.
Updated: I discovered something strange on my phone, it is actually a Samsung Vibrant with the firmware of the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S, as you can see in the image's (When trying to turn on the phone it stays on this screen, nothing else happens) ... If I try to download mode (up + vol down + power and put the usb cable), a screen appears with the symbol of loading frozen. I wonder who has the experience with brick, with the JIG can I get into download mode. thank you
If you can go to Download mode, no worry.
Flash stock ROM and continue to custom ROMs if you want.
But here is a great tip for you: do not use backups untill its really necessary. Backups are only for emergency situations.
First do a factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache, flash ROM again etc etc. But do not try backup file first

that's the problem, I can not enter the download mode, volume down and power, etc ... I think I'll have to buy a JIG for that ...

Yeah, with a USB jig, you can force it to boot into download mode.

[Q] P880 hangs at boot | No S/W update available

Hello,
After rooting my p880, my phone hangs at boot. Just after the boot sound (*pling* ) the phone is hanging. The boot image is still moving.
Things I tried already:
I followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723, which tells to do a kdz update. This is not working, as I am not able to get to the S/W upgrade screen. Instead, when I start the phone using the power button + volume down, i get the Android system recovery menu (3e).
I tried to upload a new (cyanogenmod) rom using adb sideload, but that didn't work, as the file I used was damaged (I will retry with new file).
I also did a factory reset and a cache wipe.
Can someone tell me what is best to do?
Kind regards
X-cal
