I'm having an issue with the playback of videos recorded with the HTC one. They look great on my phone and without any issues. Upon playing the videos on my PC, the playback is super terrible. Audio out of sync, Video with frame rate drops. I'm going to try on a different computer, but I was wondering if anyone else was having similar issues? My PC is pretty fast and can handle 1080p without problems, updated to latest codecs and quicktime.
You need different video player. Has to be mp4 . Download vlc media player. It's free. Amazing and plays HD files

Don't use QuickTime.. no good

What version of windows and what program are you using to play the video? If it's Quicktime, stop using it. Quicktime's playback engine is absolutely horrendous (basically hasn't been touched in many, many years).

have you tried MXVideoPlayer?
Just updated to TeamEOS nightly 116 JB and BS Player still seems to work though I didn't try a variety of formats.

MX Player works great, been using it for quite awhile now.
Dice works fine now... Used it a few hours ago to watch a video while making dinner...

I used moboplayer previously and have also been using mx since updating. It seems to work well so far.
Once xbmc is made compatible with tegra2 I will be switching to that though.

I just updated to EOS nightly 119 and dice player works like a charm. Even played a 720p mkv. It forced closed when I first opened it but I opened again and played various formats. Not even a stutter

Vplayer played the most formats for me, more than mx player

DicePlayer
Try DicePlayer. It's the best video player for XOOM, great speed, smb access and the only one with playback rate speed control.
At least its the best I could find (tried Mobo, MX, VP, etc...) since XOOM launched.
I would maybe try vlc player. And cross your fingers lol

The following players worked successfully on jelly bean:
-MX player
-bs player
-dice player
Unsuccessful----
-mvideo player
-mobo player
-rock player
-vlc player
Tested by me
Note: all tested apps were free versions

Really???... on my xoom mz601 JB 4.41 it crash!...Why???
I've tested the other two mentioned on JellyBean but still prefer Dice over both MX Video and Mobo. I have tried a variety of files.
Anyone having problems BS player in hardware mode on jelly bean?
Hi all,
I've looked around but I guess we will have to accept the fact that the N7 falls short when it comes to media playing capabilities.
The other day me and a friend were comparing 2 awesome devices, my N7 and his S3.
The S3 handles most formats of video without any issues and even features an amazing PIP feature that lets you see videos on desktop or over other apps without lagging the system.
The N7 on the other hand can hardly play any worthy media formats. I downloaded some HD YouTube devices in mp4 format via tubemate app but couldn't play any of those with hardware and software rendering.
I couldn't even play my 720p movies that the S3 or the galaxy tab handles like a baby.
I'm guessing there might be some way to watch movies otherwise it seems an awful waste of the multi core processor and gpu.
Looking forward to your feedback / comments
Not really sure what's happening on your end, but I can play all files perfectly smooth. Though only up to 720p mkvs so far. I'm using BSPlayer by the way.
I've yet to find a video file I couldn't play, though I also haven't pushed past 720p mkv files. Mostly using MoboPlayer and the VLC Beta. What are you using for a video player?
Yeah, you have to install bsplayer litehttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bsplayer.bspandroid.free

Just got my nexus yesterday (first android device ) and tested a few media players, there are a number that have hardware decoding and can play pretty much anything.
I've settled on using "DicePlayer" as its the only one I found that still supports DTS, it also supports smb natively so no file manager needed.
You need to install "DicePlayer" and "DicePlayer Plugin" if you want DTS then you need to follow the advice in the thread below (simple process)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769799
Having no trouble at all playing 1080p mkv over smb very impressed
OK now on sure there's something wrong at my end. No wonder I was so frustrated. I have tried all of the above players but not able to play high def files. My device is stock, unrooted and otherwise running awesome. YouTube HD works great but if I download the same video, it doesn't play past a few seconds on software rendering. On hardware rendering there's no video.
Do me a favor, download Katy Perry's Wide Awake video using the tubemate android app. Select a high resolution and see if you can play it. Thatwill answer a lot many questions
Agree on DicePlayer, it has always been the best for me on tegra 3 devices.
The video playing capability on the nexus should exceed that of the s3. Thats where the quad-core comes in handy.
If you want the "PIP", or floating video window on the nexus look for Stick It on the play store.
There was a video on youtube that I cant find now. They tried to see how many stick it windows they could get opened before the prime was out of memory and gave up. They got to somewhere around 14 or so seperate windows all playing different videos. good times.

I'm not installing an app I don't want but I did download "Katy Perry's Wide Awake" in 1080p from the KatyPerryVEVO channel, played it over smb from my pc in dice player and it worked fine and was hardware decoded.
Of course you need "DicePlayer Plugin" for HW decoding

If you mean you can only find "DicePlayer plugin for tegra2" that's what I was referring to.
I cant post links yet on here due to my low post count
Yup. OK installing the tegra 2 plugin and retrying. Will update in a bit

OK, installed the tegra 2 plugin and still the same issue. The player stops at exactly the same spot, around a minute or so. Tried with 2 different videos. I'm guessing now that there is something wrong in the app that I'm using to download these videos since its difficult to imagine that such a great device would lack here.
Funny thing is, same videos are playing flawless on my Desire HD

Sounds like you have an app installed that is causing problems.I know the ultimate rotation app many use to get a tablet ui caused the same effect on my n7.Once I got rid of it I have never had another problem with any video.I use the BS player and it plays about anything I have come across. jmo
I dont have ultimate rotation. I use adw to get landscape home. Tried BSplayer too but let me try again just to be sure

I suggest you look at MX Video Player with the ARMv7 codec pack. Both are free and available on the market. Plays everything I've ever thrown at it. Every once in awhile something looks funky and to resolve it I switch it to S/W decode mode.
Anyways, I hope that helps.

http://dvdcatalyst.com its on sale right now for 50% off at 9.95. I've used it for every device I have. While those apps can play the high quality HD movies, this converts it to the optimum size and quality for each any device you have. I swear by this program. its awesome.
Try Handbrake. I don't watch videos on my tablet, but Handbrake is a good and it's both free and open source, and I've used it in the past. Search their forum for what settings to use.

I can't guarantee that it will work, but I recommend trying MX Player (or one of the VLC player builds, but none seem to be under development) from the Play Store. I think it supports many more formats that the stock video player, and I find it better in other ways as well.
